Chapter 4413 - Hundred-Millennia Ghost
Vermillion Bird Capital was filled to the brim with people. Tianming was reminded of the time he returned to Nullity. The billions of cosmic gods of this world were seemingly there to await his arrival. Though, they didn't exactly seem welcoming or hospitable.
Tianming noticed the complicated looks on their faces. It was filled with a hint of respect, perhaps for his exploits on the Inverse Battlefield and the Ruinless Zone, but there was another emotion hidden deeper. He didn't quite understand it, but figured it was probably due to the events a hundred millennia ago.
"This atmosphere doesn't feel quite right," Xian Xian said, stunned by the sight.
"We'll cross the bridge when we come to it." Tianming had no choice but to toughen up and proceed.
"Li Tianming, you've finally decided to come after a hundred thousand years?!" A loud, angered female voice reverberated across the whole capital as a few cosmic gods rose and flew towards Wei Jing and Tianming.
Ying Huo, Lan Huang, Xian Xian, Ji Ji and even the woozy Meow Meow popped out to look ahead. They saw a stunning beauty clad in a flame-red dress that draped gently over her bombastic figure. She stood eighty thousand meters tall and had glowing, crystal skin. The starlight highlighted her elegant curves.
The dress sported embroideries of the flying phoenix and vermillion bird. Her slender yet plump thighs seemed full of vigor. She held a flaming chain that made her seem rather menacing. Her face was nearly perfect, with nary a flaw in her beautiful eyes. But when her sight landed on Tianming, people could feel a storm brewing. Everyone could tell that she was displeased with him.
Jiang Qingluan?" Tianming was stunned when he saw her for the first time. She looked far too similar, nay, practically identical from her appearance to her figure. Apart from the fact that she was a higher lifeform, a cosmic god, she seemed cast from the exact same mold as the Jiang Qingluan of the Realm of Order! Yet, this was the daughter of Vermillion Bird's imperator.
Apart from stealing her undergarments, what else happened a hundred thousand years ago? Tianming felt a headache brewing at seeing her aggressive posture. He looked at his right hand, noticing that Ying Huo's head had popped back in like a coward.
The moment Jiang Qingluan appeared, all the cosmic gods there shut up completely. Her status as the grandaunt was something to be held in great respect.
"Hmph." She merely gave him a glance before proceeding to ignore him. Instead, she turned to Wei Jing and nodded politely. "Aunt Jing."
Tianming felt a slight relief when he saw that she would no longer give him trouble for the moment. He looked at the other three seniors that had come with Jiang Qingluan. Two of them were Sage Chen and Sage Xing, both standing taller than ninety thousand meters.
The last one seemed to be about Wei Jing's age and height, dressed in a white dress and wearing a cold expression. Tianming recognized her to be Xue Lan; her counterpart in the Vermillion Bird Kingdom had been taught a lesson three subsequent times by Tianming. He no longer cared about the haughty and difficult attitude of this supposed close friend of Wei Jing.
Mother said that we can't really equate the counterparts of the Realms of Order and Chaos... Tianming shook his head and did his best to forget his prior impression of Xue Lan's character. He was currently facing the top elites of Vermillion Bird Starcage, and he had come with a request.
He needed to get the dazzling radiance within their capital. If they openly gave it to them, it was akin to making enemies out of the other starcages. It was one thing for them to pass it over under the table, but handing it over publicly wouldn't fly. It was a difficult choice indeed. The rest of the Realm of Chaos stood on the side of Yueling Starcage, so Vermillion Bird Starcage's choice was of paramount importance. I can't afford to be too careless, Tianming thought.
Wei Jing joined up with Sage Chen, Xuan Lan and Sage Xing and began to converse with them. Sage Chen, who had been to Nullity not too long ago, looked at Tianming and commented, "It seems that the young imperial son has improved leaps and bounds in the past while."
Sage Chen looked like what one expected a mature ruler to look like. He was someone who was inferior only to imperatores, both in Vermillion Bird Starcage and the rest of the Realm of Chaos.
In comparison, Sage Xing was somewhat younger. He hadn't visited Nullity in recent times, so he was quite curious about Tianming. "I heard that the young imperial son managed to overpower the imperial son of Aquamarine, Cang Shentu. He should be quite powerful, right?"
"You two seniors flatter him too much. Ming'er still isn't able to assert influence on the larger picture yet," Wei Jing said.
"It's fine, Jing'er. It's already great that he remembered and returned." Xue Lan said, stepping forward. She seemed to have a decent relationship with Wei Jing. However, the way she looked at Tianming showed that she had some thoughts about him. "I only hope that he's still able to catch up after wasting so many years. His current level doesn't even compare to Yao'er and Hao'er. Once there's no more dazzling radiance..."
She still couldn't resist saying something that dripped with so many hidden meanings. The two she brought up were her sons, Chen Yao and Chen Hao. Those two and the son of Sage Xing, Xing Que, looked like Jiang Qingluan's followers. They looked Tianming up and down as if they were not quite happy with him. They must have some history with him in his past life.
Wei Jing wanted to talk about the dazzling radiance in private. She sighed and said, "To be honest, that's why I visit--"
Xue Lan knew what she was getting at and interrupted, "Alright, it's been years since we've met. Let's catch up and leave the juniors to their own devices."
"That's right," Sage Chen said, looking like he had a headache. "A certain grandaunt has been waiting a hundred thousand years for today. We seniors should give them some privacy."
Wei Jing lost her chance to bring it up. Everyone turned to Jiang Qingluan and Tianming, the two main characters for the day.
"You thief," Jiang Qingluan said, glaring at him. "You ghosted me for a hundred millennia and are still shameless enough to come to make demands. I'll tell you this up front! Nothing from our starcage, not even a single fly, can leave without my say so!"
"Alright, Grandaunt, you're in charge. Now, tell me what you want to do," Tianming said straightforwardly.
