"Die!" Tianming and gang were immediately attacked by the cosmic gods in the fortress. The violetblitzians bravely fought the three that were many times their size without fear or retreat.

"They were the ones who killed our imperator! They have to die!"

"Buy more time for our comrades to destroy those red balls!"

"We'll fight down to our last breath!"

They unleashed their cosmoforce and desperately got in Tianming's way.

"Fuck off!" Tianming's Grand-Orient Sword and totems turned into tens of millions of sword flashes that wiped out one violetblitzian after another. Li Tianzi and Zi Zhen killed just as fast as he did too. Their advance wasn't something that anybody could stop, at least not until a bright net of lightning shot out from the depths of the building.

"Careful!" Tianming felt that this was the power of a ninth-level primocosmic god. With how sudden and close the strike had emerged from, it was definitely a planned ambush! Zi Zhen hadn't opened her ninehall eyes yet and wasn't able to display explosive power. So, Tianming used his sword formation to shield her petite form within.

The violet lightning net exploded with thousands of lightning bolts, but none of them could penetrate the sword formation. In that brief moment, Li Tianzi's black-smoke-shrouded chain lashed out with tens of millions of lashes towards the darkness, forcing a ninety-thousand-meter cosmic god out in a rather haggard fashion.

The old man had a ring of black lightning layered ten thousand times around his eyes, binding them like a blindfold. Tianming felt that the lightning bolts were constantly destroying his eyes and bringing him endless pain.

"Lin Shouzhong, it's you!" Li Tianzi's expression was a complicated one.

"Who is he?" Tianming asked, feeling troubled. He came to Zi Zhen's side. The cosmic gods around them no longer attacked and surrounded them carefully instead. All of them were resolved to give their lives for the cause.

"He used to be one of Lin Tianjian's chief generals," Li Tianzi said. "One time, he captured thousands of people from Nullity but disobeyed Imperator Jian's orders and released them. After that incident, I learned that he was given the cruel punishment of Lightning Blinding and that was the last I heard of him."

Tianming looked at the old ninth-level primocosmic god and the blindfold-like lightning bolt around his eyes. That was probably the punishment that Imperator Jian had inflicted upon him. It was one of the five types of lightning he wielded, and he used the black one for all sorts of cruel punishment.

"Why did he release the prisoners he captured?" Tianming asked.

"Because it was a prisoner exchange. They should release our people after we released theirs. However, Imperator Jian tried to shamelessly screw us on our deal and keep the captives to pressure us."

It was no wonder Li Tianzi felt rather perplexed at seeing the old man. Lin Shouzhong was loyal to Violetblitz, but he was also a respectable opponent. Yet, Lin Tianjian punished him for his honorable act.

"Hehe, Li Tianzi!" The old man laughed in a hoarse voice. "Let's not bring up old tales. You will not take the dazzling radiances unless you go over my dead body!"

Once more, violet lightning bolts in the shape of fists shot towards Tianming and Zi Zhen.

"Lin Shouzhong, Imperator Jian is dead! Why do you still serve him after suffering the Lightning Blinding for thousands of years? It's time for Violetblitz to turn over a new leaf!" Li Tianzi exclaimed as he immediately blocked the lightning punches with his chain.

"Haha! A new leaf? What a joke!" His laughter boomed like thunder. "That new leaf you're talking about is a maple leaf. Rule under the firemaples. Do you expect us to exist under their foot? It wouldn't have come about if not for the sky plunderers' interference! I will not let you do as you wish! Young'uns, I need you all to leave. Let this old husk stop them here in their tracks!"

"General!" Countless violetblitzians around them began to sob. They were giving their lives so that Lin Shouzhong would have a chance to launch a surprise attack. But it had failed, so there wouldn't be any point in charging to their deaths anymore.

Tianming was quite stunned by what he heard. "Lin Shouzhong... To think that someone like this exists in Violetblitz. It seems like there are still people worthy of admiration even if we stand on opposing sides."

He knew that Lin Shouzhong would have to die either way since he was chosen to guard this place. Someone had to be accountable for losing the dazzling radiances when the Adjudicator came knocking, after all. With his death, the other violetblitzians wouldn't be blamed.

"Quick, go!" Lin Shouzhong roared, using his lightning to chase the violetblitzians away.

"Tianming, go down with Zi Zhen. I will send him on his final journey," Li Tianzi said, looking at the blindfolded old man with respect.

"Alright." Tianming and Zi Zhen entered the thousand-floored fortress as quickly as they could. With the violetblitzians chased away, there was nobody to stop their advance. They could hear the sounds of battle between the old man and Li Tianzi from within the fortress.

The old man was no match for his brother, so Tianming didn't feel worried. He collected all the dazzling radiances in the Skyflash Boltdepths, which totaled up to around fifty thousand standard units.

"We hit the jackpot!" Tianming immediately dragged Zi Zhen to run off with him, his face completely illuminated by the red light of the radiances.

"You'll be able to grow much bigger again," Zi Zhen said.

"What's the rush? You can grow bigger with me," Tianming said with a serious look.

"You better just be talking about the size of our bodies," Zi Zhen said, rolling her eyes.

The two of them pocketed the radiances and left the fortress. An epic battle continued to rage on at the ocean above the Skyflash Boltdepths.
