Chapter 4573 - Finding Her Among a Crowd of Thousands
Tianming silently clutched the black scales Li Tianzi had left behind.
Li Tianzi was truly gone. His brother had originally been nothing more than a corpse resurrected by Dao San. Now, there was no miracle to bring him back.
“Big Brother...” Tears streamed down Tianming’s face.
Ying Huo and the others cried as well, as if they could still see Li Tianzi’s four lifebound beasts fighting Jie Ba to the bitter end, burning away their own lives to suppress him.
“I’ll carry your will forward,” Tianming said firmly. “I won’t let you down.”
He quickly stored away the black scales, anger and determination filling his eyes.
Looking at the runes on his sword, he knew his journey had advanced another step.
Jie Ba and Shen Wu had been sealed away.
Huang Qi was under his control.
Tian Jiu stood on his side.
Only five Aeternal Beings remained.
“Next... Dao San.”
Tianming turned murderous.
As long as this green heart still existed, Dao San was still alive. Li Muyang was likely facing Dao San himself.
Dao San had once killed Li Muyang and resurrected him afterward, yet somehow Li Muyang had completely broken free from Dao San’s control. Tianming could only imagine how fierce their clash must be.
“Father... I don’t know how you escaped Dao San’s control, but it couldn’t have been easy. I’ll find you.” There was no time left for grief.
Tianming and his lifebound beasts set out once more. Unfortunately, the corrosiveness here was so high that Yin Chen couldn’t spread out and scout.
Tianming could only blindly traverse the tangled maze of green blood vessels. Membranes of green fluid formed barriers before him, but the Grand-Orient Sword cleared all obstructions.
“Jie Ba’s power has made cutting through these barriers easier.” His speed increased noticeably.
Yet the heart contained far too many intertwining vessels and Tianming could only randomly pick a path at every fork.
“Where are they?” He searched for a long time, but every spot looked the same.
Then Yin Chen suddenly remembered something.
“When we... returned to... Nullity Starcage... the portrait... hanging in... Kunruler Palace... was gone. Someone had... taken it.”
Tianming froze. “My portrait?”
“It was probably Mu Qingqing,” Tianming said after thinking for a moment. “Sound should travel further than sight here. Let’s call out. If they’re nearby, they should hear us.”
Ying Huo reluctantly emerged despite the disgusting slime. “Who are we calling?”
“Mu Qingqing!” Tianming’s voice echoed. Ying Huo and the others joined in, but their voices were limited.
Then Lan Huang emerged, its twin dragon heads roaring through the green slime:
“MU! QING! QING!”
The sound blasted through the entire sea of slime like a tidal wave.
“Holy crap!” Ying Huo’s feathers were vibrating from the sound.
Meow Meow shuddered in relief. “Good thing this cat was smart enough to hide inside Little Li before Third Brother came out!”
Even the three Little Sixths atop Tianming’s head nearly passed out.
Bai Ye groaned dizzily. “My soul almost got blasted away...”
Xian Xian giggled. “Looks like we don’t need to shout anymore. Third Brother’s enough!”
Even Tianming had not expected Lan Huang’s voice to be so useful here.
Just then, Tianming suddenly heard a faint voice barely audible through the thick green slime. It seemed to be calling his name.
“Tianming...”
“We found someone!” Tianming was stunned, surprised by their good luck.
Ying Huo sighed in admiration. “At critical moments, Third Brother really shines.”
Bai Ye nodded. “First Lord Chen, now Lord Huang. Little Li’s side is full of hidden monsters.”
Tianming moved through the sea of green slime at full speed, hacking any slime membranes in his way.
The voice calling his name grew clearer and closer.
Finally, he arrived in the second heart chamber he had discovered. When he rounded the corner, he saw a woman in a black dress standing ahead.
Mu Qingqing.
She was only ten thousand meters tall, clutching a rolled-up portrait in her arms. Even rolled up, the portrait was taller than she was.
Green membranes trapped her within the chamber, but she showed no fear at all. She had simply been quietly waiting for Tianming to arrive.
The moment she heard Lan Huang’s booming voice, she had known he was coming.
And when Tianming finally appeared before her, the woman in black smiled through her tears.
