Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 4606 - The Old Man

Chapter 4606 - The Old Man

“Faster... faster...” Tianming stared ahead, willing the distance to shrink.

The Ninedragon Imperial Tomb sped through the Flameyellow Divine Path, but travel still took time. Huang Liu’s decoy had lured him far too deep into the Middlekin Star Ruins. Just leaving that region had consumed precious hours.

Yet he had been left with no choice by Huang Liu’s Gray Plague.

Clenching his fists, Tianming's thoughts drifted back to Ling'er's previous Nirvana Tribulations.

During her first tribulation. they had been bound by a single black rope connecting the Moon God Realm and the Xenomemory Space. Had she failed, he would have been lost in that strange dimension forever. Yet her unwavering resolve carried her through.

The same had been true during her second tribulation in the Kunlan Realm of the Primary Astralhole.

Without an indomitable will, how could she possibly have survived it all?

Ling'er... now you're a mother too. You carry even more responsibility than before.

I trust you. I know you won't disappoint me, everyone else, or yourself.

His conviction remained firm.

Within the Flameyellow Divine Path, the golden-red Ninedragon Imperial Tomb roared onward like nine divine dragons racing through the stars.

Just then, the silver cockroach beside him delivered urgent news.

"Old man... has appeared. He’s approaching... your wife."

Huang Qi let out another shrill cackle. "You can take this time to design a coffin on your way there."

Tianming's expression darkened. "Is that old man Tai Er? Warn Little Fish."

The golden crystal star that Ling'er had become continued resisting the power of the Ancestral World. Explosions echoed endlessly and golden radiance flared repeatedly, only to be smothered again beneath swarms of gray-pink wormlike creatures.

Moran watched anxiously when the silver cockroach at her side suddenly relayed Tianming's warning.

"An old man?" She blinked in confusion. She saw no old man nearby.

She could find nothing until the cockroach pointed out a direction. She froze.

There really was an old man, and he was only two meters tall. That was why she hadn't noticed him at first.

She had subconsciously assumed that all Aeternal Beings were towering monsters at least a hundred thousand meters tall. Who would have expected a frail-looking old man barely taller than an ordinary person?

"Be careful," the silver cockroach warned.

Moran immediately raised her guard.

The old man approached leisurely through the void.

He looked like an ordinary god dressed in black-and-white robes. His long hair hung in tangled disarray as he strolled through space.

A wine gourd dangled from one hand, a stream of clear liquor extending from it into his mouth as he drank while walking. He swayed from side to side like a carefree drunkard.

At only two meters tall, he was utterly inconspicuous. Even his eyes looked cloudy and dull, lacking any trace of power or majesty.

Yet despite his casual pace, he crossed vast stretches of space with astonishing speed. Within moments, he had arrived outside Moran's countless wonder formations.

"Yo, little beauty..." The old man hiccuped and looked through the wonder formations at the golden crystal star nestled within.

A carefree smile appeared in his cloudy eyes.

Against the immense wonder formations and the colossal crystal star, he looked like a mere speck of dust.

Then suddenly, black-and-white energy that matched the colors matched his robes gathered in his hands. They also revealed his identity: Tai Er, the strongest Aeternal Being!

The black-and-white energy in his palms instantly expanded into two divine dragons hundreds of thousands of meters long.

In Moran's eyes, the old man himself all but disappeared.

Only the colossal black-and-white dragons remained.

In that instant, she felt an unimaginably vast and terrifying force rushing toward Ling'er’s crystal star.

“Don’t even think about it!” More wonders bloomed as Moran constructed a massive hemispherical shield. The imperial armaments and imperial gates especially, fused into an impregnable wall of white steles and white gates.

Wonders can attack, defend, and adapt. Even if he tries to go around, I can reposition instantly!

But she was soon shocked, because Tai Er had no intention of going around her defenses.

The two black-and-white dragons simply charged directly at the hemispherical shield.

"Hold!" Moran unleashed every ounce of her power. It seemed as though innumerable wonderians were crying out in unison as wonders blazed with dazzling light, almost resembling the power of the Heavenly Dao itself.

This was the strongest she had ever been. Every bit of her strength had been poured into the defensive array. She would stop him even if it cost her life.

Then the unthinkable happened.

Tai Er's expression didn't change in the slightest as he casually took another sip of wine. "Run along and play somewhere else, kid."

The two black-and-white dragons slammed into the grand formation and with overwhelming, absolute force, tearing straight through it.
