Chapter 1305 1305: UPSET BROTHERS

AS they walked toward the mansion, Shen Ji Yun glanced down at Luo Yan. His eyes landed on the small, neat whorl of hair at the top of his head. For a second, he wanted to lean down and press a kiss right there. Just a small one. But they weren't at his place or somewhere private. He couldn't just kiss Luo Yan whenever he felt like it. At least not here. Still, it was fine. Luo Yan was right there next to him, close enough to touch. That was enough for now.

When they stepped inside the mansion, Luo Ren, Luo Jin, and Bai Ze were already settled in the living room. Luo Jin and Bai Ze didn't look surprised at all to see Shen Ji Yun walking in with Luo Yan. Luo Yan figured his older brother must have told them already.

"Ji Yun, what are you doing here so early?" Bai Ze asked, looking genuinely confused.

Luo Jin let out a brief snort. "Why else? He's here for Yan, obviously." He narrowed his eyes at Shen Ji Yun, his tone dripping with dissatisfaction. "Can you seriously not go a single day without seeing him?"

"Oh please, Ah Jin," Luo Yan said, rolling his eyes at his younger brother. "If you lived in B City, you'd be at Sister Yuqi's place every single day too. You'd probably even wait for her outside her school." He pulled Shen Ji Yun toward the empty couch and sat down, tugging him down beside him.

Luo Jin's face flushed red. He opened his mouth to argue, to deny it, but nothing came out. Because he knew, deep down, that was exactly what he would do. When he saw the smug, satisfied look on his brother's face, annoyance prickled through him. He gritted his teeth and let out a small, frustrated pout.

Bai Ze winced a little at Luo Jin's reaction. Wow. This guy was completely gone for Su Yuqi. Just thinking about his cousin being with that she-devil made him shiver. What did Luo Jin even see in her? The guy had terrible taste, that was for sure. He shook his head slowly. Maybe Luo Jin had some kind of masochistic streak, that was the only explanation that made sense. He couldn't help but look at his cousin with a flicker of pity.

Confused, Luo Jin stared back at Bai Ze. What kind of internal drama was this cousin of his playing out in his head right now?

Luo Ren chuckled quietly to himself, clearly enjoying the whole scene playing out in front of him.

Shen Ji Yun cleared his throat gently. It's better to change the subject now. "Where are Uncle Wei Tian, Uncle Chen, Aunt Xiulan, and Xiao Ye?"

"Dad is at the company," Bai Ze answered. "Uncle went with him. They had some business to check on there. Mom went out to buy groceries. And Xiao Ye is still sleeping."

Truthfully, he thought there was no need for his mother to buy more groceries. The pantry and fridge were already well stocked. But his mother probably thought it wasn't enough after how much they ate at dinner last night.

Shen Ji Yun relaxed a little when he heard that none of the elders were around. He reached over and took Luo Yan's hand in his, gently running his thumb over the other's soft fingers.

Luo Ren's eyebrow raised as he watched Shen Ji Yun's casual little action. The way he just reached for Luo Yan's hand like it was the most natural thing in the world. Luo Ren studied him for a moment. This guy. He really was something else.

Luo Yan looked down at their hands, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. But then a thought suddenly crossed his mind, and his expression shifted to something more worried. He looked up at Shen Ji Yun. "Brother Ji Yun, are you and Uncle Yi Mu planning to go to the Shen family main house for Mid-Autumn Festival?"

Luo Ren noticed the worry that flickered across Luo Yan's face when he asked that question. He frowned slightly. "What's wrong? Isn't it normal for them to go there for such an important holiday?"

Bai Ze seemed to notice something as well. He leaned forward slightly. "Yeah, what's wrong? Is this still about what happened during Lunar New Year?"

"What happened during Lunar New Year?" Luo Ren asked, curiosity flickering in his eyes.

Luo Yan felt uncomfortable discussing Uncle Yi Mu's personal matters like this. It felt like they were gossiping behind his back. He, Luo Jin, and Bai Ze already knew about the situation because they were all part of Yunyue together and had seen Uncle Yue at Uncle Yi Mu's house when they visited Shen Ji Yun. But just laying it all out for Luo Ren now, when the person involved wasn't even here to speak for himself, didn't sit right with him.

But he didn't have to worry for long. Shen Ji Yun spoke up, smoothly steering the conversation back to what Luo Yan had originally asked. "Yan Yan is just worried because Shen Xin saw us together and found out about our relationship."

Luo Jin frowned deeply when he heard that. "What do you mean? And who's Shen Xin?"

Bai Ze sat up straighter, nearly rising from his seat. "Wait, what?" he said, his voice sharp. "One of your asshole cousins found out about you and Xiao Yan? When did this happen? And how?"

Hearing that, both Luo Ren and Luo Jin went still. Luo Ren's face hardened, a crease forming between his brows. Luo Jin's hands curled into fists where they rested on his knees, his whole body tensing. Neither of them looked happy.

"Explain," Luo Ren said simply in an icy voice, his gaze fixed on Shen Ji Yun.

Luo Yan decided to explain it himself. If he left it to Shen Ji Yun, the other would probably just give the bare-bones version and call it done. And that would only make his brothers more upset.

"So... about a month ago," Luo Yan began, "Brother Ji Yun and I went on a date to a shooting range."
