Chapter 3496: Martial Aunt (13)
Yi Youxuan spoke with such blunt rudeness that both children were stunned.
Ye Heyu frowned as he looked at Yi Youxuan. Ye Meiyu shrank back slightly. She’d likely never had encountered such a domineering girl before. The natural friction and comparison between girls left Ye Meiyu completely suppressed by Yi Youxuan’s presence.
“Even if we rank ourselves by strength, I have more right to speak than you do,” Yi Youxuan said coldly. “Stop hiding behind seniority. It is nothing more than a hollow concept.”
Ning Shu maintained a smiling face. “Fine. You talk, and I will stay quiet.”
Qi Cheng looked somewhat helpless.
“You child,” he muttered to Yi Youxuan before immediately turning to Ning Shu. “Junior Sister, tell me about the situation with Jianzhan Peak.”
“You tell him,” Ning Shu said to Ye Heyu. Compared to his sister, Ye Heyu’s performance had been exemplary.
Ye Heyu cupped his hands and explained the situation regarding Jianzhan Peak to Qi Cheng. These were all the details he had gathered while following Ning Shu over the past several days.
Ye Heyu did not hide anything. His master had told him that if there truly was something good, they might be able to pick up a few treasures by following along.
Qi Cheng thought for a moment. “From what you say, it truly is a bit fishy.”
“But if there really is something abnormal, why has no one discovered it for so long?” Qi Cheng asked. Given the locust-like nature of cultivators, if there were truly a treasure here, how could it possibly have remained untouched until now?
“Elder, it is because our area is desolate and remote,” Ye Heyu explained. “Not a single stranger visits our village from one end of the year to the other.”
“I see. We should head over now to check the situation.” Qi Cheng took off on his flying sword, and Yi Youxuan followed her master.
Ning Shu placed the two children on her own flying sword and followed behind the other two toward Jianzhan Peak.
The peak was extremely prominent in the forest, towering over the surrounding trees.
The group stopped near the base of the mountain. Qi Cheng released his powerful spiritual consciousness, but it was entirely absorbed by the stone walls, and not a single shred of it returned to him.
Qi Cheng nodded in surprise. He drew his flying sword and struck the mountain, but it only left a few shallow white marks.
“What kind of stone is this?” Qi Cheng touched the wall, carefully trying to sense any fluctuations of spiritual energy within it.
“There do not seem to be any spiritual fluctuations. It likely is not a magical tool,” Qi Cheng said, shaking his head.
“Brute force definitely will not break these stone walls.” Ning Shu looked at the severed peak. Whoever had cut this mountain in half must have possessed incredible strength.
“Master, let me try.” Yi Youxuan took out her Houyi Bow and hovered in the air.
Ning Shu retreated with the two children and waited for Yi Youxuan to show off her great power.
Yi Youxuan drew the bow back until it was shaped like a full moon. The arrow she fired was incredibly powerful, let out a whistling scream as it frictioned against the air.
With a sharp clink, the arrowhead sank into the stone wall. However, only the tip managed to enter the rock, while the shaft of the arrow trembled violently.
Yi Youxuan frowned. That should not have happened. Her Houyi Bow possessed immense power and should have been able to shoot straight through the entire mountain. Furthermore, she cultivated the Divine Dao, which was far more powerful than ordinary cultivation systems.
Ning Shu clicked her tongue. She had already tried every method she could think of and had been unable to break Jianzhan Peak.
When Yi Youxuan saw Ning Shu’s expression, she took it as a sign of disdain. She immediately turned her bow and aimed an arrow at Ning Shu, then pulled the string to its limit. If her fingers slipped, the arrow would turn Ning Shu into a pulp. The massive force would cause her to explode.
Ye Heyu stepped in front of Ning Shu, cupping his hands as he asked Yi Youxuan, “Senior Sister, what is the meaning of this?”
Ning Shu looked at the boy standing in front of her. He was not even as tall as she was. Did he really think he could block one of Yi Youxuan’s arrows?
She pulled Ye Heyu behind her and looked at Yi Youxuan. “What is wrong with you?”
“What is wrong with you?” Yi Youxuan looked down at Ning Shu from above. “I may not be able to break this mountain, but can you?”
“When did I ever say I could break it?” Ning Shu asked with a expressionless face.
She was completely speechless.
“Alright, that is enough.” Qi Cheng stepped between Yi Youxuan and Ning Shu, fearing a conflict would break out.
Ning Shu found it a bit absurd. Why was Yi Youxuan paying so much attention to her?
The group tried various methods, but as the sky began to grow dark, they had no choice but to head back.
Once they returned to the thatched hut, everyone fell silent. The few stools in the house were taken by Ning Shu, Qi Cheng, and his disciple. The two children remained standing.
“Find a clean place to sit down,” Ning Shu told them.
“Yes, Master.” Ye Heyu nodded and took his sister to sit on the side.
Qi Cheng spoke up. “Although this Jianzhan Peak is strange, the world is vast, and there are countless oddities. Even as cultivators, we are like frogs at the bottom of a well. If we cannot open this thing, neither can anyone else.”
Yi Youxuan felt that the mountain looked somewhat familiar, as if she had seen it somewhere before.
She frowned as she tried to recall where she might have encountered such a peak.
Suddenly, it hit her. Her immortal estate seemed to contain a mountain that looked like the upper half of this severed peak.
No wonder it looked familiar.
Was there a connection between the two? Yi Youxuan decided to check her immortal estate for the mountain’s origin, why the upper half was there, and who had moved it.
Seeing the look of realization on Yi Youxuan’s face, Ning Shu frowned. Could this fated opportunity belong to Yi Youxuan too? Given her reaction, it almost certainly had something to do with her.
Yi Youxuan always seemed to hold the key to every treasure.
Ning Shu remained silent. If it could be opened, that would be for the best, but it was frustrating to think that something she had worked so hard to find might just fly away and become someone else’s prize.
Yi Youxuan said to Qi Cheng, “Master, I would like to step out for a moment.”
Qi Cheng was not worried, given how powerful Yi Youxuan was. He nodded. “Be careful and come back early. If anything happens, crush your jade pendant, and I will come at once.”
Yi Youxuan nodded, went out the door, and disappeared into the darkness on her flying sword.
Ning Shu watched the direction she went. Surely she wasn’t going back to the peak?
Had she already found a solution?
If Yi Youxuan was going to take the entire Jianzhan Peak for herself, Ning Shu wouldn’t even get any scraps, let alone a share of the rewards.
If that were the case, Yi Youxuan would become even more powerful.
She didn’t mind her being strong, but if she swallowed the whole treasure herself, Ning Shu would feel incredibly bitter.
Ning Shu could no longer sit still and prepared to head to the peak to see for herself.
“You two stay here. I will be back shortly,” Ning Shu told the children.
“Please be careful, Master,” Ye Heyu said immediately.
Ning Shu nodded and flew toward the peak on her sword. Seeing this, Qi Cheng followed her.
Ning Shu rushed to Jianzhan Peak as fast as she could, only to find that the mountain was gone.
She jumped down from her sword and looked at Yi Youxuan in shock and disbelief.
