Re: Evolution Online

Chapter 1466 - 1467: I sentence you to death

The moment the two demonesses spotted him, whatever imposing presence they had maintained while stepping through the spatial fracture disappeared. Their eyes lit up.

"Husband~~ We have suffered a lot all these days without you~~ How could you forget about us?"

Before Liam could react, both women had already grabbed onto him.

"Husband, you abandoned us for so long!"

"Do you know how worried we were?"

"We thought something terrible happened to you!"

"Something terrible did happen to me."

Neither appeared particularly interested in that explanation.

Xerathuna's face twitched. What the hell was this?

She had mobilized the Celestial Court, the Blood Prince had brought the Blood Court, and enough powerful cultivators had gathered around Green Mountain to turn this insignificant world into the center of attention for half the region.

Yet these two women had somehow turned the entire confrontation into a fucking family reunion.

More irritatingly, Liam didn't seem particularly bothered by it.

One demoness had practically wrapped herself around his arm, pressing tightly against his side while complaining about how heartless he was, while the other hugged him from behind with her chin resting comfortably on his shoulder.

"Husband, you have become thinner."

"I haven't."

"You have."

"How could you possibly know?"

"We know everything about Husband."

Eventually, Liam cleared his throat and gently disentangled himself from the two women. "Can you both wait until we go back home?"

The two demonesses paused. They looked at Liam, then at each other, and the word home seemed to immediately improve their mood. After everything that had happened and all the time they had spent apart, they both wanted nothing more than to go back home with him.

"Husband is taking us home?"

"Of course."

The two women instantly became obedient.

"Okay!"

"We can wait."

Liam smiled. "Good."

They finally released him, although neither went particularly far. One settled on his left while the other moved to his right. If they couldn't cling to their husband, standing close enough to immediately resume doing so later was an acceptable compromise.

Watching the scene, Xerathuna scoffed. "Pathetic. Do you really think your handful of allies are going to save you? You are only leading them to their death. You are going to die and rot here. They will also be joining you!"

Liam chuckled. "I really don't want more company. But I think... I have a feeling some more are arriving."

Just as he finished speaking, another portal opened up. Shockingly, a little girl came running out of the portal. Following her was a man who seemed like a butler. "Miss Itzel, Miss Itzel, wait. You cannot come out by yourself. Your sisters will kill me. Miss Itzel, please."

"No, Karim. The message said big bro needs my help. I have to go immediately. Big bro. Big bro!" The little girl looked around, and finally, when her gaze landed on Liam, a brilliant smile bloomed on her lips.

"Big bro!" The little girl completely ignored the various factions surrounding and ran over to Liam and tightly hugged him. "Big bro! Why did you give me a different name? I have been searching for you all these days!"

Liam smiled bitterly. He remembered all too well who this little girl was. It was the little friend he had made back when he had visited the Milky Way auction house city through the game.

He later on learned that it was a very real place and was actually located outside the game world, but going there would have been a dead giveaway. This was why he had chosen to wait.

"My friend, the Oracle, sent you here?"

"Yes, he did." Itzel beamed. "Big bro, that person is a little naughty, but I think he is a good guy."

Liam chuckled. "Do you know something? You are a very good judge of character."

"Hmmm?"

Liam laughed and hugged her. "You always know who to make friends with."

"Why wouldn't you say that?" Another chilly voice sounded as a woman walked out of the same portal. "Taking advantage of my little sister, are we?"

People were already starting to suspect with the appearance of the little girl, but now that with the entrance of the second party, no one had any doubts.

"Hey, isn't this the young mistress of the Milky Way auction house?"

The woman who had stepped through the portal was breathtakingly beautiful, but that was hardly enough to attract attention among cultivators at this level.

What mattered was her identity. Several ancient experts recognized her immediately, and those who didn't quickly received answers from the people around them.

"The Milky Way Auction House?"

"That Milky Way Auction House?"

"Who else could it be?"

"What are they doing here?"

The whispers rapidly spread. Xerathuna's face fell. She knew exactly who the Milky Way family were.

Their strength alone wasn't the problem. The Celestial Court had stood at the summit of countless worlds for far too long to be frightened simply because another ancient force had appeared.

What made the Milky Way family troublesome was that they had spent an absurd amount of time building relationships with practically everyone worth knowing.

Supreme sects bought from them. Ancient clans sold through them. Top dynasties borrowed from them, invested through them, stored treasures with them, and used their auction houses to quietly move resources that they didn't want appearing in official records.

Even the Celestial Court had dealt with them before. More importantly, nobody truly knew how deep their foundation went.

The Milky Way Auction House presented itself as a merchant organization, but only an idiot would believe an organization capable of operating safely across so many worlds had survived purely because people respected commerce.

Xerathuna's gaze became colder. Why were they here? Her eyes moved toward Itzel. The little girl was still hugging Liam. Then there was that woman...

The woman had already appeared in front of Liam. Her eyes first fell upon Itzel, who was still happily hugging Liam, before slowly rising toward Liam himself. Her expression remained perfectly composed, but the coldness in her eyes made it abundantly clear that she hadn't forgotten him.

Itzel immediately looked between them. "Big sis, I found him!"

Liam smiled awkwardly. "I really did not call her here."

The woman laughed coldly. "Oh? You didn't mean to call her here and get out of whatever this is by using our family name?"

Her gaze briefly swept across the battlefield, taking in the golden fortresses, crimson warships, gathered Dao Kings, and the countless factions watching from every direction before returning to Liam.

Itzel nodded enthusiastically beside him. "Big Bro didn't call me! The naughty Oracle did."

Her sister looked down at her. "And how exactly did this Oracle know you?"

Itzel blinked. "He found me."

"Of course he did."

Karim finally managed to reach them and immediately bowed toward the woman. "Young Mistress, I apologize. Miss Itzel opened the portal before I could stop her. I tried to convince her to wait for the others, but she-"

"It was my idea," Itzel interrupted.

The woman sighed as if she was tired. She then completely ignored Liam and Itzel and instead addressed the many people gathered here. "Whatever is going on here today, me and our family has nothing to do with it. We will not interfere."

Several cultivators who had become nervous at the appearance of the Milky Way Auction House visibly relaxed, while Xerathuna's expression eased slightly as well. This was the response she had expected from an organization like theirs. Merchants survived because they understood when to involve themselves and, more importantly, when to stay out of conflicts that had nothing to do with them.

The Blood Prince smiled faintly. "A sensible woman."

The young mistress didn't acknowledge him. Instead, she looked toward Karim. "Take Itzel back."

Karim immediately straightened. "Yes, Young Mistress."

Itzel's eyes widened. "No."

The young mistress's eyebrow twitched. "Itzel."

"No."

"We are going home."

"No!"

"Itzel."

"Big Bro needs help!" The little girl tightened both arms around Liam as though Karim might attempt to drag her away at any moment.

Her sister took a slow breath. "He has somehow managed to involve himself in a dispute between the Celestial Court and the Blood Court. That has nothing to do with us."

"It has something to do with Big Bro and Big Bro has something to do with me."

The young mistress stared at her.

Itzel stared right back.

Liam could almost see the argument becoming increasingly dangerous. He quickly placed a hand on Itzel's head. "She's right."

Itzel immediately looked up at him in betrayal. "Big Bro!"

Liam smiled. "You came to see me. You found me. That's enough."

"But the Oracle said you needed help."

"I'm fine."

Itzel looked around. She slowly examined the Celestial Court and then the Blood Court. Then the numerous Dao Kings spread throughout the surroundings before finally looking at the two soul avatars still imprisoned within Xerathuna's Celestial Prison. Her gaze returned to Liam. "You don't look fine."

Liam coughed. "Appearances can be misleading."

"No."

"No?"

"You are surrounded."

That was difficult to deny. Liam glanced around once before nodding thoughtfully. "I suppose I am."

Itzel's sister gave him a flat look. "You suppose?"

Liam ignored her. He crouched slightly so that he was closer to Itzel's height. "Listen. I really didn't call you here, and I definitely don't want your family getting involved because of me. Whatever happens next is something I need to deal with myself."

Itzel frowned. "But we're friends."

"We are."

"Good friends?"

"Very good friends."

"Then I should help."

Liam smiled. "Do you see the grandpa sitting on the mountain there? Why don't you go and sit with him? Your big bro will show you something soon. It will be very nice to watch."

Itzel immediately turned toward the distant mountain.

The Green Mountain Ancestor was still sitting comfortably upon the peak with his wine gourd in hand, seemingly completely detached from the confrontation below. The old man had been watching everything with obvious amusement, and when Itzel's gaze landed on him, he lifted the gourd slightly in greeting.

Itzel looked back at Liam. "Really?"

"Really."

"What are you going to show me?"

Liam's smile widened. "A surprise."

Her eyes immediately lit up. "I like surprises!"

"I know." Itzel finally released him, although she still looked somewhat reluctant to leave. "Will Big Bro come over afterward?"

"Of course."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

That seemed to settle everything. Itzel turned toward Karim. "Let's go!"

Karim stared at her. A moment ago, he had been practically begging the heavens for some way to remove her from the center of the battlefield, yet now she was willingly leaving because Liam had promised to show her something. He looked toward Liam with a complicated expression.

"Thank you."

Liam nodded solemnly. "You're welcome."

The young mistress, however, wasn't nearly as relieved. Her eyes narrowed at Liam. She then turned towards the celestial court and the blood court. "What did he do?"

Xerathuna calmly answered. "He stole property belonging to the Celestial Court, murdered those sent to retrieve it, repeatedly resisted judgment, escaped from my hands, and continued slaughtering members of the Court afterward. Most recently, he murdered an Archon."

She then personally raised her voice and continued. "I have no idea why so many people have gathered here to witness a relatively simple matter, but allow me to make one thing clear. The Celestial Court has no quarrel with any of you."

"Whatever rumors brought you here are irrelevant. There is no ancient inheritance being opened today, nor is the Celestial Court declaring war upon the Blood Court or any other faction. We are here for one person."

Her golden eyes settled upon Liam. "Him."

Liam smiled. That seemed to irritate her even more.

Xerathuna continued, "Those who wish to watch may watch. Those who wish to leave may leave. But anyone who interferes in the Celestial Court's judgment will be treated as having willingly involved themselves in this matter."

Itzel's sister gave a nod and then continued walking. She joined Itzel and Green Mountain in the distance.

Several factions exchanged glances. Most of them had come because the simultaneous appearance of the Celestial Court and Blood Court had made it seem as though something extraordinary had happened on Green Mountain. Rumors of ancient inheritances, primordial treasures, secret realms, and even the birth of something beyond the Dao King realm had already spread across countless communication networks.

If all of this really was because of one man... that too a transcendent... It was definitely not worth getting involved. Many started backing away.

Xerathuna smirked. This was exactly what she wanted.

The vultures who had rushed here hoping to pick up some benefit were finally beginning to understand that there was nothing for them to gain. Several spatial passages had already opened in the distance, while the weaker factions retreated farther from Green Mountain, unwilling to risk becoming collateral damage in a conflict involving multiple Dao Kings.

There was no need for them to be here. More importantly, there was no need for them to see what Liam possessed.

Once he was dead, she would personally search every spatial treasure on his body, tear apart his soul if necessary, and find out exactly how a mere Transcendent had managed to create three Dao King soul incarnations.

Next to her, the blood prince patted her on the back, reminding her. "I think we have waited long enough. Why don't we just end this quickly so everyone can go about their business?"

"Of course, my love." Xerathuna smiled and then turned to Liam, her eyes cold. "You have committed multiple crimes against the Celestial Court. You stole from us, murdered our people, resisted judgment, and even killed an Archon. By the authority granted to me as High Priestess, I sentence you to death."

"And here I thought you will never start!" Liam chuckled.

Xerathuna's blood boiled. A mere insect dared to be this arrogant in front of her? Today she would show him what is heaven and what is trash! Without another word, she initiated the first attack.

The next second something shocking happened. Liam took out something from his spatial ring. A few herbs. About a hundred SSS ranked herbs to be more precise.

In front of everyone, he packaged each bundle of herb into different vials and sent out all the vials in different directions. Immediately all hell broke loose.
