Chapter 2095: In Imminent Danger
The Necromancer gave Grey a long look before bursting into laughter, "You’re a strange fellow, I have to say."
The Necromancer suddenly turned around, and started flying away. It was as if he was not facing an enemy.
"You only came here to deliver this message?" Grey found the Necromancer’s actions to be odd. If he wanted to just send a message, there was no need in attacking the eastern entrance. Looking around though, he realized none of the soldiers at the city walls were armed.
’Could he have only really come to deliver a message?’ Grey thought, but he quickly tossed that idea to the side. Since the Necromancer dared to come here, he would not let him go back.
The Necromancer turned around at the same time Grey asked this question, and without hesitation, he struck out.
Grey, who was already on the verge of trying to stop the Necromancer, so although he did not expect the Necromancer to attack at that moment, he was still able to react quickly. Using his lightning element, he dodged the Necromancer’s attack before sending out an attack of his own.
The Necromancer blocked it, but was forced to retreat some meters backwards.
"Attack!"
Both Grey and the Necromancer commanded at the same time.
They were the strongest of both armies present, so the second they started fighting, it was already the cue for the soldiers to attack.
The Gnomes and Necromancers used their puppets to attack, while the humans set up multiple formations to gain stronger attacking and defensive capabilities.
Grey and the Necromancer took their battle away from the battlefield at the eastern entrance.
This was what Grey wanted as he did not want others to see his abilities.
Two kilometers away from the battlefield, Grey and the Necromancer were exchanging blows. The Necromancer had not brought out his puppet yet, but he was fighting Grey to a standstill.
"Moron, you came all the way out here to fight me without any help." The Necromancer scoffed, feeling Grey was extremely foolish.
Grey did not mind the Necromancer’s chiding, he knew what the latter thought and could not help but feel pity for him. He was refraining from going all out because he could sense that there were more than one pair of eyes on him. At first he could tell that the general was watching him, but the second he stepped out of the city wall to confront this Necromancer, he sensed two more pairs of eyes, each as powerful as the general’s.
This should be the senses of the two Peak Sovereigns in the Gnomes’ camp. He continued trading blows with the Necromancer without using more than his lightning element.
The Necromancer felt like he had the advantage, yet for some odd reason, whenever he was about to land a fatal hit, his opponent would dodge it at the very last second. Frustration soon set in and he lost the patience of fighting in such a manner. He brought out his puppet, and the second he did that, a great sense of death overwhelmed him. He felt his hairs stand on edge and a cold chill ran down his spine. This was not the first time he was getting such a feeling, and each time he sensed this, it would almost always leave him in a desperate situation to save himself. He had succeeded so far, after all, he was still alive now which was proof that he had always made the most of whenever he got the threat of death.
Like every other time, he immediately gave up any and all ideas of attacking, and focused on locating where the danger was coming from and using the appropriate method to survive. He did not for one day relate the danger he sensed to Grey as he had been battling with him for some time now and did not find him to be extraordinary.
Grey was impressed when he noticed the Necromancer suddenly give up on attacking midway and focusing on protecting himself even when Grey had not even prepared his attack yet.
’His senses are sharp.’ He commended the Necromancer internally.
Void’s voice suddenly echoed in Grey’s head.
’It’s done.’
When Grey heard this, he sighed before his mental sense spread out. The Necromancer, who already had his guard up, sensed the flare in Grey’s mental sense. Just as he was about to send an attack to force him back, he felt a sharp pain in his head which immobilized him. His eyes opened wide as he could not comprehend what was happening.
Grey appeared before the Necromancer and pointed his finger at his head. A small hope appeared on the head of the Necromancer, all the way from his forehead to the back of his head. He was dead, just like that.
It all happened in a second, but that second felt like a lifetime for the Necromancer as he found out the identity of the person he was fighting against was none other than Grey Dawson. Now he understood why he felt that sense of imminent danger the second he brought out his puppet. The only thing he could not understand was why Grey was so weak. From what he read about Grey, he knew he was stronger than even the top geniuses in the same cultivation stage. Sadly for him though, he would never be able to get an answer.
Grey took away the space ring of the Necromancer before burning the corpse and puppet to ash.
"We have three incomings." The bunny leader appeared beside Grey and announced.
Grey indicated for the duo to remove the seal they set up. The reason he only acted after he got a confirmation from Void was because after he sensed the senses of the Peak Sovereign Gnomes, he did not want to give himself away, so he had Void and the bunny leader to set up a seal that would hide them from the prying eyes of these Peak Sovereigns.
The three figures soon appeared before Grey, two Gnomes, and the last one was none other than the general.
