Chapter 3617 Something Big
Greensoul landed them outside the teleportation hall and walked in. Immediately, he revealed himself and began giving out some strict orders to the crew working on the formation, some of which Alex managed to hear.
Those instructions mostly told the workers there to stop any teleportation formations from coming over. At the same time, they were to message all other places that any teleportation from this place would be delayed as well.
Greensoul had them give similar information to the customers who were waiting to take the teleportation formation out of here. They would have to wait around for a while longer.
Once he was done dealing with the immediate situation, he finally returned to Alex and Ronron, who were standing to the side the entire time.
"What is it, senior?" Ronron asked with a strange expression. "What's going on?"
"I got a message from your master to immediately bring you two to safety."
"Why?" Alex asked.
"No clue. I'm just doing as I'm being told. I have never received such serious messages from her Brilliance before when I was out with anyone, so I'm quite stumped as well."
Alex narrowed his eyes. There was simply no way for him to guess what this could all be about, and that only made him even more curious at this point.
"Why are we not returning to the palace then?" Alex asked.
"That is also something I was asked not to do. At least, not right now. My orders were to bring you to safety wherever you are and to make it so no one could get in or out of the city using the teleportation formation. Instead, I am to keep it ready to teleport us away the moment we receive the order to."
That was even stranger now. They couldn't return to the Sky God's palace?
'Did the Fire God arrive?' Alex thought. A sense of panic filled him upon realizing the possibility. 'No, this is too early. I'm not ready yet.'
He didn't want to believe that the Storm God was so petty that he would give out that information to the Fire God so quickly.
'Is that even possible?' Alex wondered.
It had only been a decade since the Storm God came and left. The distance from the Celestial's Cradle to the Sky God's palace needed at least 4 interrealm teleportations to travel, which was in no way possible to do in 10 years without forcing many formations to work at risk.
'Maybe it's not the Fire God then,' Alex thought.
But then, if it was not the Fire God, why would he be in danger? Who else was there that could be a danger to him?
Alex struggled to come up with any name at all. The only person who could possibly want him dead at this time was the Fire God. Even if Purplerain himself hunted him in fear of what he knew through Godslayer, this situation would've been entirely different.
As such, he could only wait and see.
Ronron tried gaining answers from Greensoul, but it was evident that Greensoul was just as lost as the two of them were.
The crowd outside the teleportation formation was rather frustrated as well, given the fact that they were wasting precious time doing nothing. But it wasn't so bad that they would blame Greensoul for this.
Nearly 5 hours passed in this way before Greensoul received another message. He quickly read the talisman and nodded.
"I think we're safe to go."
He quickly gestured for the staff to start activating the formation. Alex and Ronron walked up to it as well. When the three went there, they were the only ones to stand there.
Alex felt strange that no one else was being allowed the chance, but that made sense since they were likely still a security concern. So, they alone had to be teleported away.
From Firebrand City, Alex and the two arrived in another city, which was on the way to the Sky God's palace. The people of this city were already alerted to the fact that they would be using this formation immediately as well, so the moment they arrived, they were immediately allowed to teleport once again.
This time, they teleported directly onto the top of the mountain where the Sky God's palace lay, arriving next to the cliff. Immediately, Alex and the rest could tell that the atmosphere around them was quite strange.
Greensoul looked around in worry, but nothing immediately stood out at all, except maybe the fact that there were a few too many people outside on the stairs.
Alex wasn't sure if he was supposed to stay here or go up to the palace. Before either decision could be made, however, his eyes fell on someone who stood close by. They had just turned as well, and their eyes met his as well.
The man quickly walked toward Alex. "Young brother Dawnblade!"
"Senior Bigshell? What are you doing here?" he asked, looking around. "Is the Beast God here as well?"
Bigshell was one of Soul Mother's bonded beasts, the man who was in charge of navigation on the Cerulean Sparrow.
"Indeed, she is here as well. And so is the Wine God," Bigshell said. "It's hard for them not to be, isn't it?"
Alex wasn't sure what that meant. "What do you—"
"Ah! Senior Greensoul. It's a pleasure to meet you again," Bigshell quickly bowed.
Greensoul bowed as well. "It's nice to meet you too. Does your arrival have anything to do with the cryptic messages I have been receiving from her Brilliance?"
Bigshell gave an awkward smile. "That is most likely the case."
Greensoul nodded. "Could you tell me what exactly is going on then?"
"Oh! My apologies. You must not have heard then," Bigshell said. "Someone came over to the Sacred Lotus Dominion not long after you left in order to meet with the Sky God. We brought her here as soon as we could."
"Brought who here?"
Bigshell took a deep breath before answering.
"A Demon."
