Chapter 3782: A Challenge in his Favor

Alex too wondered what the challenge was going to be. At 13 thousand stars per person, should he lose, he would lose over 440 thousand stars. While he would still have many more stars to go, it would mean that he would have lost half of his current number.

And he didn’t want that.

The new challenge was decided upon by the voice that came from outside.

"In this challenge, the 34 challenged must fight the challenger with no restrictions at all and try to defeat him in under 10 minutes. Should the challenger manage to not be defeated for the whole 10 minutes, he will have won the challenge."

Alex looked at the sky with a strange expression. Was this really a random challenge set by the Divinities outside, who made the decision without any bias, or were they somehow aware of who he was and what he was doing in here?

He couldn’t prove it, but he felt that this challenge in particular was made to give him a chance to win.

The others cheered in happiness, thinking that they had been blessed with this challenge as well. To them, victory was as good as theirs since they could not see how Alex could ever win against the Divinity. In fact, they were willing to let Alex fight with just the Divinity.

The Luo family Divinity moved toward Alex. "You made this choice, so I hope you aren’t regretting this."

"Not particularly, no," Alex said. "It will be difficult, but I have a chance to win. Since I really just have to survive 10 minutes, after all."

The Luo family Divinity snickered slightly. "You are quite arrogant to think that, when you are up against a Divinity," he said.

"It’s not arrogance, Senior. It’s just my understanding of my own capability," Alex answered. "So, how should we do this? I don’t suppose the others are going to join, are they?"

The man narrowed his eyes. "Are you actually intending to fight? Just give up. You will only end up humiliating yourself if you continue."

Alex looked at the man with a strange expression. "Do you think I have no way to win, Senior?" he asked.

"Of course you don’t," the man said. "What Immortal would?"

Alex didn’t say anything next. He simply decided to show the man. Instantly, he teleported from where he was and arrived in the midst of the 33 Immortals who were focused on Alex and the Divinity. They didn’t notice him arriving next to them at all.

Before any of them could react, Alex grabbed Luo Sheng’s arm and quickly grappled him, pinning his arms behind his back. At the same time, he grabbed the young man by the hair, keeping him upright.

Luo Sheng tried to escape out of Alex’s clutches, but he found himself unable to even move. Alex’s arms were like metal clamps that held him in place.

The Divinity turned toward Alex, his eyes immediately narrowing with a frightening glare. "What are you doing?" he asked.

"What was the condition of our challenge again?" Alex asked. "That’s right. It’s how long I can survive when fighting all of you."

He moved Luo Sheng ahead of him. "I wonder how you will win this fight if I were to have a shield with me the entire time."

The Divinity was very clearly angered. His mission in this realm was to look after Luo Sheng, so seeing him get captured while on his watch was quite infuriating.

"Let him go," the man said.

"Can you beat me while I do this?" Alex asked.

"LET. HIM. GO!"

"I will once you answer me," Alex said.

"Yes, I can defeat you."

Alex smiled. "Do you wish to try, Senior?" he asked. "I must say, you’ve already lost half a minute while we’ve been discussing this. You have to remember that this is all on the clock. You cannot afford to waste a single second."

The man held in a deep breath. "Fine, you’ve made your point. I may have a chance, but it will be difficult. What now? Is this how you wish to win?"

Alex looked around, seeing the frustrated looks on everyone’s faces as they came to the unfortunate realization that it was very possible for Alex to draw the battle out this way until the 10 minutes had passed. Once that happened, he would win.

"Of course, this isn’t how I want to win," Alex said, letting go of Luo Sheng. "I simply wanted to show you that—"

The moment he let go, the Divinity reacted. He attacked with a speed that no Immortal could react to under normal circumstances.

Alex, however, saw the attack coming and immediately teleported away from the place, arriving at another location while letting out a slight chuckle.

"I must’ve angered you quite a bit, Senior," he said. "You didn’t even let me finish my sentence."

The man turned around slowly, his eyes narrowed in astonishment. He couldn’t see how Alex had managed to react to his attack so quickly.

"Hmm, I see. You’re not all talk," the Divinity said. "You’re definitely stronger than these juniors."

Alex brought out his sword. "As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I wanted to show you that I have ways to win. But that is not the only way."

As he pointed his sword forward, he ate a pill at the same time. Immediately, his Spiritual energy began concentrating in his mind until it was as little as a pond’s worth of liquid in his Spiritual Sea. That meant it was highly strong as well.

Strong enough to fight a Divinity.

That alone wasn’t enough if this was a fight to the death, but thankfully, he only had to survive for another 9 minutes. He wanted to do that without revealing his Blood Devil form or bringing out all the blood beasts.

That would be difficult, but Alex believed he could do it.

"Now then, Senior. Shall we begin?"
