Chapter 2845: Chapter 2845: Great-Grandpa Dian Wants To Join The Raid Too
"If necessary, we are fully prepared to eliminate them all on the spot. We also need to gather intelligence on their auxiliary hiding spots. Above all else, our top priority is to safely rescue the innocent civilians who have been captured by them." Yu Qi added firmly.
"Furthermore, we received intelligence indicating that they are scheduled to receive a new shipment of human victims from their suppliers soon. We are hoping to catch both the buyers and the sellers in the act." Long Hui added coldly, his voice laced with implicit threat.
Every member of the room nodded solemnly, fully grasping the gravity and scope of their mission.
"Since we are infiltrating the evil cultivators’ nest, I need to know. Do all of you know how to completely conceal your spiritual aura?" Yu Qi asked, looking around the room.
"Concealing our aura?" Dian Chi Ne blinked, momentarily confused by the question.
"Yes. We are going in strictly undercover. If you fail to suppress your spiritual aura, you risk exposing your identity as a cultivator the moment you step foot near them." Yu Qi explained earnestly.
"Ah... That! Yes, I can manage that without any problem." Dian Chi Ne reassured her quickly.
"We grew up out here in the secular world, so practicing how to hide our spiritual auras is something we have done regularly since childhood." Dian Wan Ye added with an affirmative nod.
"That is a relief to hear." Yu Qi said, nodding in satisfaction. She then shifted her gaze directly toward Great-Grandpa Dian, who was sitting comfortably in his armchair. "Great-Grandpa, are you truly certain you want to join this dangerous expedition?"
"What kind of foolish question is that? Of course I am going!" Great-Grandpa Dian crossed his arms over his chest, huffing proudly.
"Did your son actually grant you permission to go out on a combat mission?" Yu Qi asked, raised eyebrows full of scepticism.
"Ah... I believe Grandpa is not even at the estate right now." Dian Shu Xian interjected with a faint chuckle.
"That’s right! Grandpa had to attend to some urgent business over in the neighbouring city, Xien City." Dian Ren Qi suddenly remembered, turning to Great-Grandpa Dian with a mischievous grin. "Ah, no wonder you were so bold..."
"Hmph! Even if that boy were standing right here, what could he possibly do to stop me? If I want to go, I will go, no matter what he says!" Great-Grandpa Dian scoffed loudly, completely unbothered.
The younger generation exchanged amused, helpless looks with one another.
Even if Grandpa Dian were present at the residence today, he would likely have had to physically engage in a martial duel with his own father to prevent the old man from leaving. But in reality, he would not, or rather, simply could not, win against his own father anyway.
After all, Great-Grandpa Dian remained the undisputed strongest cultivator among the entire clan.
That was precisely why no one in the family had dared to openly oppose his decision to join the strike force.
Dian Zin Fang secretly let out a breath of relief. At the very least, Great-Grandpa Dian had made up his mind to travel alongside the main group. Since stopping him was an impossible task anyway, their best course of action was simply to keep a sharp, watchful eye on the old patriarch throughout the entirety of the mission.
"Since everyone is fully prepared and briefed, we will set off tomorrow morning." Yu Qi scanned the gathered faces one last time.
"Tomorrow already?" Dian Chi Ne asked, taking a slight breath.
"Yes. We need to make a few final preparations today. We have no idea what kind of array traps or hidden dangers we might encounter on Manhe Island, so we must be thoroughly prepared for every possible scenario." Yu Qi reasoned logically.
Everyone nodded in unified agreement. This operation was fundamentally different from their standard clan tasks or previous skirmishes. They were not merely engaging another group of cultivators in an open, honourable duel.
This time, they were stepping directly into the dragon’s lair, infiltrating uncharted enemy territory. And not a single one of them could predict what sinister traps were waiting for them on the blood-stained shores of Manhe Island.
...
The next morning, everyone was fully prepared and ready to move.
They made their way to the bustling harbour, where they would board the commercial ferry to Manhe Island. Since Manhe Island was a well-known, popular tourist destination, the dock was crowded with swarms of travellers looking to make the crossing.
If she were travelling alone with Long Hui, she would not bother with public transport at all. She would simply summon her flying beast, Rukh, and they could fly directly to Manhe Island in a fraction of the time.
However, since they were travelling alongside the rest of their group, they had to stick to the standard route and act like ordinary tourists.
The ferry journey to Manhe Island was scheduled to take around forty-five minutes. Before boarding, they had already held a brief strategy meeting to iron out what they were going to do once they set foot on the island.
They were to scatter and inspect various parts of the island in small, separate groups.
Even though Yu Qi had already obtained the specific address of the facility where the evil cultivators were believed to be operating, she highly doubted that dark operational network relied on only a single location.
The evil cultivators had been conducting their sinister business for a very long time, making it virtually impossible for them to depend on just one isolated base.
The moment they stepped onto the ferry deck, they immediately began acting as though they were not part of the same group, blending seamlessly into the surrounding crowd.
