Chapter 3106: Chapter 3115: Enna Clark Has Been in a Great Mood These Days
In the week following the Harper Family’s downfall, Wesley’s long-hidden power began to emerge.
Baron Lawrence and Adam Sinclair also started to get busy.
Among them, Baron Lawrence was the busiest.
These past few days, Enna Clark hardly had a chance to bump into him; in the mornings, she was still asleep when he left. At night, she waited until she was so tired she fell asleep, only for him to come home after that. If they weren’t living under the same roof, with Joanne Harrison and Scott Harris saying they’d seen him, Enna Clark might have suspected she was living the life of a single person.
However, by the third week of Baron Lawrence’s busy schedule, she had somehow become busy herself.
Normally, once Baron Lawrence left in the morning, she would get up, freshen up quickly, say goodbye to Joanne Harrison, and then go out. She wouldn’t return until late afternoon, nearly evening, and whenever she did, it was clear she’d already had dinner. She appeared to be in a very good mood upon returning.
For three days this was the routine, and Scott Harris could hardly hold back anymore. He secretly followed Enna Clark to see what she was up to.
And what he saw gave him quite a fright!
Since tracking Enna Clark, he had been absent-minded all afternoon, nearly knocking over the household water glasses several times.
Joanne Harrison thought he seemed strange no matter how she looked at him, but no matter how she inquired, Scott Harris wouldn’t say what had happened.
His lips were sealed tight, like a lock, making it difficult for Joanne Harrison to press for more.
When Enna Clark came back in the evening, Scott Harris greeted her with an expression as if hesitant to speak, intentionally lowering his voice as he asked in the entrance hall, "Young Madam, where did you go this afternoon? Lord called to ask, and I thought you went to Old Lord’s place. But after I called the Housekeeper, he said you weren’t there."
Enna Clark bent down, changed into her slippers, and raised her bright smiling face, saying, "Oh, I didn’t go to Grandpa’s today, I had some other matters to attend to."
Scott Harris’s expression grew more complicated, gazing at her smile, he bit his lip and asked, "Young Madam, you seem to be in a good mood today. Did something good happen?"
Enna Clark placed her bag aside, talking as she walked, "Sort of."
Scott Harris wanted to probe further about what sort of things happened, but restrained himself, having no option but to watch Enna Clark head towards her room, "Mr. Harris, I’ve had dinner, no need to worry about me. I’ll go take a shower now~"
Scott Harris felt as though a heavy stone was pressing on his chest, making him breathless. He bowed his head, rapidly hiding his complex and troubled expression, trying to make his voice sound normal, "...Okay."
Enna Clark, back to him, didn’t notice his troubled and indecisive expression, humming a tune as she entered her room...
Baron Lawrence returned to Birch Garden, dragging his exhausted body back home nearing midnight.
Scott Harris waited for him at the door.
Once Baron arrived home, Scott Harris promptly and respectfully handed him his slippers.
The tall and distinguished man absent-mindedly yanked off the tie from around his neck, tossed it onto the sofa, and lowered his hoarse voice wearily asking, "Where’s Enna Clark? Is she asleep?"
"My Lord, Young Madam is already asleep." Scott Harris, following him, poured him a glass of water and handed it over, "Lord, please have some water."
Baron Lawrence took out his laptop, opening it without extending his hand, saying directly, "Put it on the table, I’ll drink later."
Scott Harris watched him busy at work, feeling more heartache than anyone, softly asking, "Do you still have work, Lord?"
