“Hmm…”

God fucking damn.

The stats were astronomical, and even higher than when he was in full dragon transformation back in the Depths.

Nonetheless, he could already feel some kind of force trying to restrict him, which royally pissed him off. Still, for the time being, since the force was being so kind, caring, and gentle, Rael wasn’t going to do anything.

At least for now.

The flat increases are big, but it’s a real pity my willpower is so low. I really wanted it to get the highest stat treatment, but oh well… I’ll just have to invest more money, time, and effort into it some other time.

Still, one bonk equaled a really big hit. He was sure he could destroy the entire planet with just one attack by now.

Though I should reel these powers in and get adjusted to them. Otherwise, I might accidentally crush Zafira.

A shiver ran down his spine at that thought, and he immediately went into the one place he knew he could freely practice his new abilities.

Not the Depths, since he felt that place was too cursed for now to come back to. Instead, it was a particular dungeon.

—Monastery Key (Legendary)

A special key to open the Legionnaire Monastery Dungeon [Grade 2 ~ 4].

Well, I’m sure Adam won’t mind me chiming in to say hello, Rael thought with a faint smile, and then used the key, immediately being transported into the dungeon.

However, instead of the previous spawn point, he actually appeared in the center of the cathedral, right beside the grand library.

He heard the flipping of pages not too far away, but soon after, the flipping stopped. Instead, footsteps resounded, which continuously grew closer until eventually, they stopped right in front of him.

Adam, holding a book in his hands, glared at Rael.

“I thought I told you to come back when you’re more powerful, else I’d kill you.”

Rael dismissed his words with a smile. The latest_epɪ_sodes are on_the 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩•𝗳𝗂𝗋𝖾•𝕟𝕖𝕥

“I can’t really become powerful when a single sneeze could wipe out a whole planet. Care if I stick around here for a little while? I want to practice.”

“And if I say no?” Adam set aside the book on one of the shelves, then turned back to him. “Will you leave if I say no?”

“I could. I probably won’t though,” Rael replied, cracking his neck in preparation for what was about to happen.

But despite what he expected, Adam simply turned around and began ignoring him.

“Uhh… so can I stay?”

Adam continued walking, not turning around.

“Don’t ruin the books or anything of the sort. Every time you damage something, I take an arm.”

With those words, he went back to sorting books. On the other hand, Rael slightly moved his foot and glanced down, spotting a giant crack in the marble ground.

“…”

It was definitely there before I got here.

Still, he was really expecting a fight. Sure, he would lose, but he was like a resilient cockroach, so he was bound to land a hit on this Grade 6 lad.

Anyhow…

“Do you have a garden?” Rael cut straight to the point.

“You are not going to train in my garden,” Adam replied sternly. “If you so much as get my plants dirty with your filth, I’m going to kill you.”

Rael nodded, tilting his head.

“You know, I noticed it earlier, but you’re acting unbelievably nice for someone who made a statement before I left.”

Silence ensued, but it didn’t last long as Adam picked up one of the shabbier books and hurtled it straight at Rael.

Rael caught it effortlessly, and yet, when he raised his hand, Adam had vanished from sight, reappearing behind him.

To his surprise, a large black steel sword rested on his neck, ready to cut him down at any moment.

“Do not mistake my kindness for weakness,” Adam spoke. “You just caught me in a fairly good mood. That’s all.”

“…”

Rael slowly turned around, his expression serious.

“Is it Alcetas?”

Adam froze.

“You…”

Rael raised his hand, then sighed.

“I had a chat with him not too long ago, and I kind of nudged him in the right direction. I assume something good happened to his main body?”

Adam lowered his sword and narrowed his eyes.

“He called out my real name, but then after that, he went back into a coma… It seems like it’s really possible to reach out to him, but I just don’t know how.”

Rael nodded slowly, a faint smile appearing on his face.

“You know, I kind of got a little more powerful in the short time I was away. I might just be able to peer into this Alcetas’s mind to reach the other one. However, I do have to warn you… I’m pretty sure Solenne is going to be keeping very close tabs on him and everyone else from her faction.”

“…”

Adam turned around once again and went back to catering to the books, but not before shooting him a glance and a few words:

“You can train in the garden, but just try not to wreck it too much. In exchange, I want you to try connecting me with Alcetas later.”

“Sure.” Rael smiled. “I’ll do that, but uhh… I do have to warn you, I’ve never really tried connecting minds, so I can’t promise too much. I only know that it’s technically possible. That’s all.”

Adam stared at him, then shook his head. Without saying another word, he continued his work, leaving Rael to his own thoughts.

Well, I guess I should go find the garden if I want to start practicing my power and laws. Though, there’s one thing I should probably get out of the way before I start, huh?

Rael turned toward a certain interface in the corner of his vision, deciding it was time to check out what reward he had gotten.
