Chapter 741: The Ruined Divine Realm
Rael hummed to himself in satisfaction as he passed by the empty battlefield.
In the last hour, he may or may not have cleared out the whole battlefield, and now, he was a little puzzled about where to go.
Aside from the spider, he hadn’t seen any elites or bosses.
Furthermore, since the only other monsters here were the birds of death, Rael easily dispatched them.
In turn, he managed to unlock yet another option.
<Greed Fragments: 28 → 65>
1 Fragment: 1% Chance to convert a dropped or crafted item into the [Gold] sub-rarity.
5 Fragments: +5% to all resource gains.
10 Fragments: Invest currency into into skills/levels to grow them passively.
25 Fragments: Your presence converts surrounding environments into high-yield zones over time.
50 Fragments: (NEW) You gain 1% of your total currency per day held. Limit: No more than 5,000,000,000 Premium Coins daily, no matter your income.
100 Fragments: ???
<Expand [+Infinity]>
“…Oh shit.”
It was yet another powerful ability, and this one, Rael could potentially abuse.
If he stopped time in an area, or greatly slowed it down, his own time would still move at the same speed.
For that reason, he could spend a thousand years inside, whereas only a second would pass on the outside.
And so, if Rael were to get 500 billion Premium Coins, he could passively get 5 billion Premium Coins daily.
Obviously, the amount right now would still be significant, since after the constant killing of the Birds of Death, Rael was back at 1 billion Premium Coins.
For now, he would get 10 million Premium Coins daily.
Not shabby at all, since he could just use Sloth and fall asleep for a while.
As it so happened, Nyx was literally right here as well.
She reappeared in front of him and hummed.
“I guess it could work, but maybe don’t do it now. You’re pretty vulnerable in this place.”
Rael pouted.
“You think I’d fall asleep here? Seriously?”
Nyx shrugged.
“I don’t doubt that you would.”
“You think way too little of me,” Rael replied and turned his head away from her.
Noticing his rebellious act, Nyx simply rolled her eyes and went back inside his head.
[As my contractor, shouldn’t you… well, give me stuff to do?] Nyx asked.
Feeling as though she was craving some work, Rael decided to give her some menial task.
After all, she was being really impatient while all he wanted to do was just get a little bit stronger.
You have access to my mana, right? Can you start making Constructs of any kind? It should be possible to craft the 1,000 mana constructs still. Since they share a really big chunk of my stats, it doesn’t really matter, you know?
[You’re kidding me…]
No.
He wasn’t.
[Can’t you just automate this process?] Nyx complained. [Why should I have to do it?]
Then stop complaining that I’m not giving you anything to do. You’ve literally been contracted to me for less than 5 hours. What exactly are you expecting?
Rael rolled his eyes.
You’ll have a lot of stuff to do soon enough, so just be patient.
[Ugh… Fine. I also saw you got a kid, but you better not give me some kind of nanny role. If you do, I’m breaking the contract off immediately,] Nyx said sternly.
Rael just shrugged, not caring much about it.
She would be a big help after he came back from the Dragon Realm.
But for now, she really just needed to enjoy her time while he was giving it.
Anyhow, Rael roamed around for a short while, until eventually, Rael got an idea.
The hand came out of a spatial crack.
That, in turn, should mean there was another space here aside from what he was currently seeing.
Perhaps a realm where only strong beings were.
So with that in mind, Rael decided to test it out by using his own Law of Space, and forcefully tearing the space open in front of him.
At first, there was nothing, only empty space as far as the eye could see.
This continued until he reached the area where the spider first attacked him.
And when he finally cracked the space here, he was met with quite a peculiar sight.
Inside the seemingly empty space, there was a small city that, for some reason, greatly resembled the Divine Realm.
Except this Divine Realm was significantly smaller than the one he had seen.
But judging based on what Nyx said earlier, this was likely the original Divine Realm that was at the core of the shattering.
Though, if such a place was here, Rael could also assume the original Ancient Primordials were also here.
Hey Nyx? Were the old Ancient Primordials stronger than the ones right now? Rael asked.
[Of course they were. Though, I highly doubt you’ll find… Never mind. There is one Ancient Primordial here, actually. I feel them in the heart of the city. They seem pretty powerful, so I’ll step in and help you if I find it necessary,] Nyx replied.
Hearing that, Rael got slightly more excited.
And so, with that in mind, he stepped into the spatial crack and walked through space, reaching the Divine Realm only a few minutes later.
It really was abandoned.
Moreover, it was completely destroyed, and only the ruins of what this place used to be were left.
Though he could admit the Divine Realm really was beautiful, even while destroyed.
But the moment his foot sunk into something soft and squishy, Rael immediately recoiled back in disgust.
At first, he thought he had stepped in shit.
But once he glanced again, he realized there was just one tiny egg lying on the ground, the same egg he had just stepped on.
It was a spider egg.
…He really hated spiders.
Say… the remaining Ancient Primordial wouldn’t happen to be a spider queen or something, right? Rael asked playfully.
Though, Nyx’s silence spoke a thousand words.
[Well, on the contrary…]
