Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 832: The First Phase

Chapter 832: The First Phase

One after another, Rael crushed Solenne’s men ruthlessly. Not a single one of them could put up a fight, and more importantly, he couldn’t recognize even a single person from way back when.

Not to mention… Rael felt like this was a trap. Sure, he had already considered it, since Lucien could’ve been involved, but at the same time, why exactly was this so easy?

Right as Rael was about to continue his pondering, he spotted a flash of light in the distance. The flash of light traveled so fast that he could barely track it. Yet once it stopped, Rael spotted a blonde-haired figure that resembled Solenne.

At first, Rael didn’t think it was actually Solenne, but once he inspected her and saw that she was still Grade 9, Rael was proven wrong.

But for her to appear while Renoir and Gaia were here…

What is she doing?

Rael flicked his wrist one more time, erasing the rest of her soldiers out of existence. Then, he took one step forward, arriving in front of her.

She still looked like a child, but her gaze was way different than he was used to. After all, the intensity in her gaze was nothing to scoff at, even for him.

Still…

“Hello? Did you have fun invading my planets and trying to draw me out?” Rael asked.

Hearing that, Solenne glanced past him. Once she caught sight of Renoir in particular, she let out a sigh.

“It’s been so long since we’ve last seen each other, and yet, you bring a whole entourage behind you? Now that’s not very nice, is it, Rael?” Solenne said.

At her words, Rael just scoffed.

“You should probably just tell me what you’re doing here.”

“What I’m doing here? Well, if it wasn’t obvious already, I came here to fight you,” Solenne replied.

Then, she took a single step back and put her arms over her hips. She looked like the stereotypical loli, and frankly, Rael wanted to smack the shit out of her.

However, he held himself back.

“How did the fight against Melissa go?” Rael asked, smiling slightly. “I remember her mentioning that she wounded you significantly. How did you already heal?”

Instead of replying, Solenne just went ahead and raised her arm, showing a single scar on her forearm. It was as if someone had stabbed her directly through the hand, and clearly, that certain someone was Melissa.

It seemed like Melissa had dominated her more than Rael had thought. Because of that, he was kind of sad he hadn’t been there to watch the whole fight happen.

“Alright then, Solenne. I really don’t get what you’re doing here… but if you came here to fight, then let’s fight.”

With those words, Rael went ahead and summoned a single Heavenly Slash, then raised it over Solenne’s head.

Right as he was about to drop it down, however, something completely unexpected happened.

A beam of light suddenly pierced through his chest, right where his heart was supposed to be. For some reason, the pain was excruciating, almost like someone was burning him alive. More importantly, he hadn’t even seen this attack coming.

But that didn’t mean that Rael wasn’t giving up just because of a surprise attack. Instead, Rael went ahead and crashed down a few hundred Heavenly Slashes directly onto Solenne.

However, it seemed like he had underestimated her a little, as despite his power, the speed at which she was moving was way beyond normal. She moved way past his perception and easily dodged every one of the Heavenly Slashes.

She was so confident, rather, that she even tried to redirect one or two of the Heavenly Slashes toward him, only for Rael to go ahead and block them effortlessly.

Still, he knew she wasn’t taking this fight seriously, and because of that, Rael decided to be the one to kill her right away.

He enveloped her whole body in mana. Then, with a single burst of mana, Rael imagined exploding her from the inside.

But for some reason, nothing happened. Only then did Rael realize that he had been fighting in some pitch-black realm. There was no one left around him. Not even Renoir or Gaia were there.

Only Solenne, and she was now smiling at him.

Smiling so menacingly that Rael was beginning to think that she had done something more than she had let on.

But just what could it be?

“Odds on me breaking out of this place if I just overwhelm it with my Laws?” Rael mused out loud.

Just then, Solenne reappeared not too far away from him. Her eyes were slightly red, uncharacteristic of their usual golden color.

Not to mention, the tension he had previously felt in her was gone.

“Rael, you know that it’s not too late to join us, right?”

“You said the exact same thing back when you were recruiting me all those years ago,” Rael said plainly.

Solenne let out a chuckle.

“True. But back then, I was recruiting you for my own benefit. Now, your power would benefit the whole multiverse. Just imagine yourself, sitting on a throne of power, surrounded by people you love.”

“The same people who will be brutally killed if you don’t accept my offer,” she added.

Rael sighed in annoyance. He already knew what kind of person Solenne was. He knew how she operated from head to toe because of how long he had spent inside her mind.

But there was something he had found out recently that made him a little more confident than before.

“Did you make your wish, Solenne?” Rael asked. “Your wish to Lucien, I mean. He promised you something, then killed you and erased the majority of your memories. Or so I’m told…”

In truth, Rael believed there was a degree of bullshit involved in that statement, but since that was the only piece of information he had on her, he decided to use it.

However, he most definitely didn’t expect her answer.
