Black Quantiarch: The Progenitor's Odyssey

Chapter 98: The Assassination 4

"If only I could tell actually who that blurry figure was or just where that place is in the assassin's memories, than.. than we would've surely found that bastard, that coward behind this assassination and I swear.. " Freya uttered through gritted teeth.

Slamming her hand, hard on the tea table in frustration yet she was still conscious enough to not genuinely use her full strength otherwise the table would've surely been obliterated in God knows how many fragments instead of just releasing a loud sound.

Besides as this whole luxurious mansion was her master's property, than so does this classy tea table therefore how could she be ungrateful enough to actually destroy something that belong to her beloved master, that would be blasphemous of her as his maid.

Furthermore she actually saw herself as someone who's entire existence belonged to her master himself both in mind, soul and body. And not only her, instead it was all three of them — Luna, Wix and Freya who saw themselves as someone who belonged solely to Black, to there master alone.

Meanwhile at Freya words both the twin sisters, Luna and Wix couldn't help but be dumbfounded and just stand there forzen like a thousand years old statue.

They were so shocked at the information of someone having the thought of not only killing but also taking possession of there Master's body after killing him.

Such a revelation actually had there minds stop working for a second there. However as they snapped out of there shock, Wix unexpectedly laughed madeningly, her laughter like a sinister symphony of malice rumbled through the air with a volcanic eruption containing all her negative emotions.

"Even if we found him. What could we have done. Nothing." She echoed eyeing her two sisters.

"We are weak. We surely aren't strong enough to actually battle a divine. It doesn't matter even if we stand at the peak of Pseudo-Divine Phase as someone who had ascended all three of this phases rank to the highest level."

Wix uttered, her voice cracked in anger, every word bursting with a suppressed fury that she couldn't unleash even if she wanted to because, she was weak.

Than she sighed, her expression dejected. "We certainly still don't have the battle prowess nor the experience to fought even the weakest of Divine's without a divine grade artifact of our own. Which.. we don't have."

"Besides. We have never even witnessed a battle between two divines, so it's certainly is a wishful thinking on my part that we could genuinely battle a divine with a divine grade artifact."

Meanwhile Luna, because of her composed nature and having already witnessed Freya's abnormal reactions prior to her explanation, managed to better control her own emotions and haven't lost her cool like her sister Wix.

Moreover, it was not to say that she wasn't angered, that she wasn't infuriated, she was beyond angry, in fact all three of them were, but what could they do, nothing. Meaning there was no point in loosing her calm over her anger.

Luna placed her hand over Wix's right shoulder, hinting for her to calm down, Wix trembled upon feeling her sisters touch without warning, however that tremble had indeed helped her enough to briskly compose herself.

Afterwards her calm obsidian gaze darted towards Freya. "Whoever it was that you saw in those memories Freya, that blurry figure, it certainly knew what it was doing."

"A being who hid his identity even though he had the strength and contacts strong enough to actually commission a second phase assassin and have enough resources to even give that assassin a divine level artifact, low level or not, even so was shrewd enough to still hide his identity, by having the assassin's memories erased.. "

Luna echoed slowly, her expression steadily turning grim, word by word, sentence by sentence, than she simply closed her eyes and spoke the last words while releasing a weary sigh at the same time. "That blurry figure. It certainly is a Divine himself ~ "

A few seconds later she opened her obsidian eyes again, and with an amusing smile. "One no less who is also actually a member of The Octagram."

She dropped another bomb on her two sisters, after analyzing all the information she had gathered till now while they were busy fuming in anger.

Meanwhile Freya and Wix immediately froze at Luna's absurd words, there crimson and obsidian gazes went blank within a second while they simply stared at her in bewilderment, wide eyed.

"Wh-What.. what do you mean sister.. tell me it's a joke, right.. and if it is, than I have to tell you that it isn't funny at all." Wix laughed dryly, actually unable believe her own sister.

Anyways Luna just responded with a grinning smile of her own without speaking anything, letting the smile itself convey her thoughts.

"So you aren't teasing us, huh?" Wix repeated again. However this time her voice was low bairly above a whisper.

"I wish, I was ~ " Luna uttered with a side-long glance. "It certainly would've been nice if that was the case."

"H-How??" Freya stuttered from the side. Luna also looked at her, than with a sigh she answered..

"One.. the assassin perfectly knew masters identity as a progenitor." As she finished she instantly raised her index finger.

"Second.. it knew that this mansion was the place that master was staying at and even knew the rough location of master's room." She raised her middle finger.

"Third.. it also knew that there were only us three in this mansion besides Master Black and Lady Zephyr, therefore he came prepared for us, otherwise there was no reason for the assassin to be provided with a concealment type divine grade artifact of all things." She raised her ring finger.

"Fourth.. it practically came at a time when Lady Evelynn wasn't supposed to be at the mansion."

Luna completed. Now all four of her fingers raised indicating each point she just mentioned.

"And this certainly isn't a peice of information that just anyone could've told that shadowvail spirit, therefore whoever this Divine is, he certainly is a member of one of the eight main family leading The Octagram or perhaps had a support of one or maybe more of them."

After hearing thus far, both Wix and Freya had no choice but to accept that whatever Luna had just uttered was without a doubt completely and utterly true.

They had no choice but to believe her since she was right, indeed not many people knew about Black's identity as a progenitor, let alone where he was living at.

Furthermore even in there own families only the family's patriarch and a few more important figures knew about this particular information and even than they weren't informed about the place where Black was actually living at.

Moreover the statement about Evelynn not being at the mansion was true too.

However whoever the divine being was, who provided the information of Evelynn not being at the mansion to the assassin certainly wasn't capable of differentiating that the Evelynn outside of the mansion was actually just a simple clone.

As she herself had never left the mansion itself because of her own laziness which caused the poor assassin to suffer in the end and lose his pathetic life.

"A traitor, huh?" Freya mumbled, still in shock.
