With the growth of the Seven-step Silver Light Snake inside Bai Feifei, she can now temporarily use its power!
When it comes to attack speed, snakes rank at the top of nature. Ordinary snakes can strike four times in the blink of an eye, but the Seven-step Silver Light Snake can execute ten strikes!
So Bai Feifei chose to use the Serpent Eyes ability, intending to use it to track Book's attack trajectory.
"Girl, next time, I'll aim for your chest!" Book chuckled darkly, his body transforming into a phantom once more and lunging toward Bai Feifei, this time faster than before.
Bai Feifei's eyes had fully transformed into Serpent Eyes. Even though Book's speed was remarkable, with the help of Serpent Eyes, Bai Feifei could now vaguely trace his movement patterns.
With a swift motion, as Book's phantom closed in, Bai Feifei retreated by a step and countered with a forward punch, meeting Book directly.
With a muffled boom, Bai Feifei's fist collided with Book's palm, forcing Book to involuntarily step back several steps.
Shock flashed in Book's eyes. "Impossible! How can you track my attack trajectory? That's absolutely impossible!"
Bai Feifei concealed her Serpent Eyes, shook her hand lightly, and casually said, "There's nothing impossible about it. Your speed is quick, but not without traces. If you think you can rely on speed alone to defeat me, think again!"
Bai Feifei had repelled Book, drawing a wave of cheers from the onlookers. This left Book visibly frustrated!
Confident beforehand that he'd teach Bai Feifei a lesson, he was now humiliated by her counterattack. Given his pride, how could he endure such defeat?
"Alright, I underestimated you earlier!" Book said in a deep voice, "But if you think this is all I'm capable of, you're going to be disappointed! When I get serious, even I scare myself!"
Bai Feifei didn't respond, instead making a provocative gesture.
"Well done! No wonder—but you're the woman I've set my sights on!" Book hunched over, assuming a wolf's predatory posture.
Seeing his stance, members of the Wild Wolf Mercenary Corps were stunned: "Book is using that move this early? Looks like this girl is in big trouble!"
Bai Feifei, noticing Book's stance, suddenly felt a chill down her spine—a strong sense of danger surged within her like she was being hunted by a wild beast.
With a growl, Book roared, his limbs starting to transform, his hands becoming enormous wolf claws. "Girl, prepare to face my wrath!"
Book charged forward again. This time, though his speed wasn't faster, the sense of danger he emitted intensified greatly.
"This is a scent lock!" Bai Feifei thought. "If I can't break free from this lock, there's no way to escape his attack!"
Taking a deep breath, Bai Feifei decided: if avoiding the lock wasn't possible, she would have to confront him head-on!
Quickly, the two clashed and grappled, exchanging blows back and forth. The force of their strikes caused shockwaves that pushed the spectators back several steps.
"I never expected this! That girl from the Grey Bear Mercenary Group is surprisingly strong!" one mercenary exclaimed. "Isn't this Book's peak form already? I didn't think she'd hold her ground this long!"
"Yeah, but she'll lose soon enough," another mercenary added. "Their strength is evenly matched, but Book's peak form greatly enhances his defense and regenerative power. With such an advantage, her defeat is inevitable."
"Such a pity! But honestly, a part of me is rooting for her to win!"
"Same here. If she wins, I'd love to see if Book would kneel before the Grey Bear Mercenary Group and shout those humiliating words. That'd be a sight!"
...
Bai Feifei paid no attention to the chatter around her, dedicating every ounce of focus to the fight.
Bai Feifei couldn't deny it; Book's strength was formidable. His true power surpassed hers slightly, and she also sensed the wolf bloodline hidden within him—undoubtedly the source of his immense abilities.
"The game is over!" Bai Feifei suddenly heard Book's mocking voice as he spoke near her ear. "I've already figured out your moves and tactics, so... you've lost!"
With that, Book's attacks increased in ferocity, making it harder and harder for Bai Feifei to sustain herself.
Thump, thump, thump! Finally, Book landed several heavy punches on Bai Feifei, sending her flying and crashing into the ground.
Vomiting up blood, Bai Feifei struggled to stand but failed after multiple attempts.
"Girl, admit defeat!" Book said, confident in his strength. Bai Feifei was certainly out of options for counterattack.
"I will never admit defeat!" Bai Feifei declared firmly, her face set with determination. She bit her lip and said, "I can still fight!"
With incredible effort, Bai Feifei shakily stood back up.
Shock filled Book's face. "I didn't expect you'd still be able to stand! But does it matter? Do you still have the strength to fight back? I suggest you lie down and rest. Later, why not serve me well instead?"
"Bah! Dream on!" Bai Feifei spat blood and replied, "If you're so confident, come at me again!"
Walking up to Bai Feifei, Book reached out and grabbed her chin. "Girl, my patience is limited. You—"
In that instant, Bai Feifei saw her opportunity and flashed with delight. She opened her mouth, a streak of silver light shooting inside Book's body.
Too close and caught off guard, Book hadn't anticipated Bai Feifei still had a last trick up her sleeve!
"You wretched woman! What did you just do?" Book felt something enter his body and disappear into him. Furious, his expression darkened as he glared at Bai Feifei.
Bai Feifei chuckled mockingly, "Oh, just something that'll subdue you!"
"You vile woman!" Though unsure of what she had done, an unsettling premonition gnawed at Book. He landed a punch on Bai Feifei's abdomen, forcing her to spit blood once more.
Now without the Seven-step Silver Light Snake protecting her, Bai Feifei had weakened substantially. Both her defense and regenerative powers had deteriorated significantly.
Book's physique was overwhelmingly powerful. Though the Seven-step Silver Light Snake had entered his body successfully, its effects would require time to take hold!
For Bai Feifei, this time would be her hardest fight yet.
"I'll kill you!" Book roared in fury, striking Bai Feifei repeatedly. Despite her desperate defense, countless blows still landed on her.
Bai Feifei protected her vital spots, but her heart raced with anxiety.
"Die!" Book screamed, aiming a punch directly at Bai Feifei's head.
"It's over for me!" Bai Feifei thought in despair, defenseless and certain of death. However, she did not feel the punch's impact. Opening her eyes, she saw Book frozen mid-attack, locked in his stance like a statue.
"Finally, it worked!" Bai Feifei whispered in relief, her body collapsing onto the ground.
