Siderius raised his hand up high. "It's time to go home."
He flicked his finger. The entire castle was engulfed in a blinding white light.
Teddy was blinded and he fainted.
In the physical world, Siderius opened his eyes. He was still in the kneeling position back in the Rottin Woods.
Teddy and Jenny were still asleep. Siderius had prolonged the effects on them to make sure he had a bit of time to finish the psychosis meditation.
He reached his hands out fully before joining them in front of him. A sign sequence of the Eastern Monk.
"When instinct rises, I stand.
When instinct pulls, I stay.
When instinct whispers, I see.
When instinct blinds, I sense."
Siderius mumbled the verse of the Ring of Instinct.
In the dark mind space of Siderius, the projection of the Night Panther's psyche was revealed.
The first ring wrapped around its waist.
The second ring wrapped around its neck.
The third ring rotated around its body.
"Come to me!"
Siderius opened his eyes wide. The panther shrunk into a small spot of purple flame. The flame split into two and went into the pupil of Siderius' eyes.
[YOU HAVE COMPLETELY ABSORBED THE ESSENCE OF YOUR MUTATION]
[PSYCHOSIS -1]
[PSYCHOSIS LEVEL: 0/150]
This time, the pain was much less than the previous one with Fluff. Blood leaked out of Siderius' corners.
He opened his eyes to see the world once more.
"What would it be this time?"
Siderius whispered. His pupils constricted even further, turning into two straight lines.
Dark veins bulged up around his eyes. He focused on one single leaf falling in the far distance. He could see a faint before image of the leaf, its future trajectory.
Siderius couldn't see that far in the future, only half a second of its trajectory.
Then the leaf landed on the ground and the before image disappeared.
The dark veins around his eyes disappeared and his slit pupils returned to the normal size.
For the first time since forever, Siderius felt tiredness behind his eyes.
"This ability is an enhanced version of Hunter Focus. Not only will I be able to judge the distance of something, but also see its trajectory half a second into the future.
A type of Dynamic Eyes. A pair of Dogans.
There is more…"
Siderius looked at his status window again. On it was a clear indication of his attributes.
His perception had exceeded ten points.
Ten points was the peak of human capability. Crossing it had created a natural mutation to his body.
"A Perception Mutation. I absorbed the essence of the eyes. This natural mutation should be something related to vision."
Siderius turned his head over to Jenny and Teddy. His pupils dilated because of surprise.
Siderius saw a faint aura around Jenny and Teddy. Jenny had a red and black aura with very little silver. Teddy had a lot of black and red too but consisted only a small portion overall. He also had silver, white, and some other colors.
"This is… their karma. Unbelievable. My natural mutation is Reigan."
Reigan, also known as Spirit Eyes, was a type of optical ability that allowed a person to look into the karmic state of another being. This ability exclusively belonged to the Eastern Monk back in Siderius' world.
True Eyes could see Aether and its power. These eyes usually only appeared on an Alchemist.
Mystic Eyes had a wide range of powers. Siderius had the Mana Detection one. These eyes belonged to the witches.
Dynamic Eyes could anticipate trajectories. It wasn't an exclusive pair of eyes to any profession or being and it could easily be acquired through many means.
Spirit Eyes were essential for the Monks. They were agents for Fate so they needed to see what kind of life one had lived.
Siderius' eyes flashed silver light as he used his new ability. He could switch it off similar to the True Eyes or Mystic Eyes.
"Aether Observation. Mana Detection. Karma Readings. I slowly gather more and more power to acquire more information from another being…"
It was at this time that Jenny and Teddy woke up. Teddy was still trying to compose himself after what he saw in the mind world. Jenny's last memory on the other hand stopped when she was punched by Siderius in the House of God.
"Where am I?" Jenny muttered.
"Hello, handler." Teddy said.
"You?! Traitor!" Jenny spat on Teddy's face.
Teddy didn't dodge it. He looked Jenny directly in the eyes before wiping his face.
"We are all here for our own selfish reason, Jenny. My loyalty only lies where I want it to be."
Jenny clenched her teeth. She looked over to Siderius who was slowly approaching.
"So… You got yourself a new dog, huh?" Jenny tried to hide her nervousness by provoking Siderius. But she couldn't hide her trembling legs.
Siderius didn't say anything and pulled out his sword.
"Wait! Don't kill me! I can tell you whatever you want!"
Teddy shook his head. "His lordship doesn't need you to. He had already read your memory."
Jenny's eyes widened and her jaw couldn't close. "Memory… I…"
She just realized that if she did not have any value, the only thing that would be waiting for her was death.
"I never wanted to betray the guild, Jenny. I would have brought the secret to the grave. But similar to you, he read my memory." Teddy continued.
"No, wait! I can still be of use. Please use me, my lord! I can be your servant. I can be your whore! I have a very good body, lord!
Please! I promise I will be a good slave for you!"
Jenny started to say all sorts of things to save her life. She was an experienced handler for the Shadow Blade. She would have been useful in case Siderius wanted to take over Blacklungs' Shadow Blade Guild.
Unfortunately for her, the Spirit Eyes showed Siderius that Fate did not favor her. Bringing her with him would have consequences in the future.
"My dear Jenny. Fate has already decided to end your journey here.
Farewell."
Siderius swung his sword.
