He drew a circle of Mercury on the ground and placed his pair of ears on top of the giant pair of ears of the bat.

Siderius clasped his hands together and began Mercury Transformation.

The bat's pair of ears was obviously too big for Siderius to graft and it had no genetic traits similar to a human. For Ocula, the human eyes were kept as the core component to fuse with the mutation. For Sonara, Siderius fused his ears with the bat ears to complete this process.

Mercury climbed up both the pairs of ears and consumed them. The two pairs of ears dissolved into each other and transformed.

The bat's ears became smaller and smaller as Siderius' ears entered its integral biological structure.

Siderius flicked his left wrist, summoning the silver bracer. He aimed his hand at the new pair of ears as a purple seal appeared.

Suddenly, his ears rang non-stop. A gnawing hunger took over him. He saw flashes of images that weren't real. The side effect of the mutation had kicked in, the psychosis. Siderius remained calm and did not have any reaction.

"The psychosis of the Bat is much less than the vampire. Maybe because the bat had less of an intelligence? Either way, grafting an intelligent being again would be very harmful."

But Siderius was for sure would do it again if he found the right specimen. Taking the eyes of that Vampire was a gamble. In return, he received Blood Vision, an ability that no witch hunter else had had before. Additionally, the Memory Extract Ability was a godsend.

Siderius knelt down before the campfire and began the usual tradition of constructing his first ring in the Nine Rings. The Ring of Sense.

The night went over quickly and Siderius meditated through it all. Meditation for a witch hunter was similar to how a person slept so he didn't feel that tired after the meditation.

The sunlight appeared in the far East. Siderius opened his dark eyes. The pupils were restricted into vertical-splits, revealing the blood red scleras all around.

Siderius took out his pipe and the Red Candy leaves. "Here we go again."

He stuffed the pipes with the four-element plant and lit it on fire. He took a deep puff from the pipe. The sensation immediately rushed over him as he could feel his mind was diving into the world of the Mind Palace.

Once again, Siderius appeared in his former castle. Nora was there to greet him. She was already holding his battle uniform.

"The armor is prepared at the gate, teacher. Along with your Soul Steel Sword." Nora said

Siderius nodded. "Have you been lonely lately?"

Nora sighed. "I am my lord. But I am not bored. This world. This Mind Palace has many things to learn about. It is as if it was an entire different realm. I use my spare time to study it."

"I am glad that you found something to be busy with. I was thinking of constructing an automaton. A gargoyle precisely."

"Would you like me to do the calculations and design for you, teacher?"

"If you don't mind."

Siderius took off the alchemist robe as Nora helped him put on the battle uniform. From the sky afar, a black hole opened up as an enormous bat appeared. It was even bigger than in real life and was more scary.
