In one of the broken buildings amid the destroyed part of the Frostbane city, five young women were lying on the dusty and debris filled floor. Their hands and legs were tied with void stone cuffs, making them unable to channel mana.

The building was covered with an illusion mana screen. From outside it would look like there's no one inside, nor would they be able to hear anything. While the only drawback being that, it was same from the inside too.

The girls slowly started regaining consciousness. They opened their eyes, groaning in pain. their head was hearting and body aching all over. They tried to move up, but then realized that their hands and legs were tied. When they tried to channel mana, there was no reaction, the handcuffs absorbed the mana instantly.

"It's no use. Those are void stone cuffs. They'll keep absorbing mana, no matter how much you release." A voice came from their front.

When they looked up, two men in enforcer uniforms stood in front of them, a wide evil grin plastered on their faces. A big trolley filled with clothes was place some distance away. They realized that these two had used the trolley to hide them inside and bring them here after making them unconscious with that smoke, released by the cylinders.

"Who are you? Why did you bring us here?" Tess, the wolf homunbis yelled.

"Hehehehe! How can you forget us darling! We've spent such beautiful days in the underground lab. I'm quite disappointed with you." He said making a disappointed face.

"You bastards! You destroyed our lives! We're like this because of you fuckers!" Nelly, the snake homunbis screamed, her eyes red with fury.

"I'll kill you motherfucker! Release me!" Harper, the raven homunbis, struggled, trying to free herself.

The three of them realized that these were the endless night heretics, because of whom they were in this situation. They were fuming with anger, trying to free themselves and tear those two into pieces. The two matillo Homunbis girls, Josie and Calla were still lying unconscious, oblivious that the ones they wanted to kill, were standing right in front of them.

"No use darling. No one will be able to see or hear you. Scream, struggle as much as you want, but no one will come for your rescue. You were made by us, you're our property, how dare you betray us and join them." the second heretic said coldly.

"You all will be staying here with us for a few days, until lord Jekyll arrives. He'll decide what to do with you all. Until then, we'll keep you entertained." The first one said with a wide grin.

"Woof! Woof!"

All of their heads turned to the side, hearing the bark of a dog. The two heretics were stupefied, they were shocked to see a dog appear out of nowhere.

"How the hell did this dog came in?" The first heretic said.

"Kill him. he'll bring others if he goes out, and also check the illusion screen." The second heretic said.

The first one nodded and pulled out a dagger. He moved towards the dog, channeling mana into his dagger, ready to end its life in one clean strike. He moved his arm up, about to swing, when suddenly a voice came from his front. He was surprised and moved his eyes up and saw a sword coming towards him.

"Found you, fuckers!" Anna was flying towards him with her sword pointing towards his chest.

"AARGHHH!!" he screamed out in pain as Anna's sword thrust inside his chest, pushing him down on the ground and plastering him with the sword buried inside the ground, cutting his collar bone and passing through the body.

The second heretic was taken aback. It happened so fast that he couldn't even blink. He pulled his dagger out and was about to rush at Anna when a hand strike fell on the back of his neck. His eyes rolled back instantly, and he fainted, falling down hard on the ground.

Drake moved his arm back. He had appeared right beside the heretic without even his realizing. He took the keys to the cuffs hanging by the heretic's waist and threw it to Layla, who was standing behind the five girls.

She caught the keys and started unlocking the cuffs one by one.

"Good boy!" Liam was petting Barny. He was wagging his tail hard, licking Liam. Excited at being praised. "Thank you barny. You can go back now." the runic circle appeared below Barny and he moved inside the circle.

"H-Hail the…e-endless night." A runic circle appeared on the heretic forehead. he was about to burst and kill himself.

"Not so fast fucker." Adriana pulled her sword out and thrust it through his other collar bone.

"AAAARRGHHHH!!!" He screamed in pain and the runic circle vanished as the mana flow was disturbed.

"Thank you for the tip, uncle Drake." Anna looked at Drake with a smile. He had told her earlier about this.

Whenever the heretics sense they're about to get caught. They immediately kill themselves, activating the runic circle hidden in their forehead. Drake had told her that by inflicted pain in them, their mana flow can be broken and their runes activation cancels.

Anna was a bit skeptical at first. She didn't know if it would work. But it was proved just now. though she was smiling at Drake. She was surprised that Drake knew about this, even though she had never seen him dealing with the heretics, as he only fought external wars of the kingdom and empire, where these endless night heretics were not present.

"I'll have to ask him about this later." She thought.

Layla brought one of the cuffs and tied the hands of the heretic lying under Anna's feet. Making him unable to activate his runic circle.

"I'll fucking kill these motherfuckers!!:" upon being freed, Tess transformed into her wolf form and rushed at the heretic lying near Drake. Her sharp nails were out and she was about to tear him into pieces.

But just then Drake pulled his sword out and swung it towards Tess,

"Uncle, NO!" Anna screamed, trying to stop Drake.
