Chapter 56 This Is The Weight Of Mine Judgement

When Wilheim heard screaming echoing throughout the forest, the floresiensis felt his legs sprinting towards the source before he even realized what was going on.

His first thought was thought was that Avahni might be in some sort of danger, before Wilheim registered the depth and tone of the screaming voice. It was the voice of a man, but not one that he was familiar with. Jon's voice occasionally cracked, an indication that he was more than likely still undergoing his Race's maturation period.

Wilheim did not know what manner of creature, sentient or sapient was screaming, but Avahni was not present in the campsite, going away to perform another summoning ritual.

'What if she is being attacked right now?' Was the first thought that raced through Jon's mind.

Wilheim assumed that she would be fine, knowing that both Ru Luan Di and Huo Liyu should be with her. The latter in particular, kept his mind at ease whenever Jon was away from the camp.

Huo Liyu was quite an offensively powerful summon. The minor amounts of fire manipulation that it possessed allowed it to assume a wide variety of different roles within the group. Manifesting shields of searing flames, shooting fiery pellets at range, even manifesting a blazing sword capable of slashing through trees over a metre in width.

The greatest weakness that Huo Liyu possessed, was that she was quite the drain on spiritual energy. Avahni had told the rest of the group that the nine-tailed carp expended amount three times the amount of spiritual energy that Ru Luan Di did whenever he needed to heal wounds or cleanse debuffs from a target.

While he did not think that Huo Liyu could defeat Jon in open combat, the fact that it could swim through the air, mimicking flight to a certain degree, prevented both himself and the human from being able to strike it with absolute certainty.

The floresiensis did not know what to expect as he sprinted through the forest, finding himself running at speeds that his body had not quite adjusted to yet. Despite the dramatic physical enhancements born from his Malphas-Mountain Marrow, Wilheim's physical form had not yet adjusted to the sheer amount of physical strength he could produce, and the incredible speeds he could reach.

Wilheim muttered a curse in Pluntian, something about how stupid he was as he nearly tripped over a tree root. The sound of screaming had gotten significantly louder, only a few dozen metres away as he stepped into the open grove.

The hazelnut skinned man blinking, seeing Avahni overloading both Ru Luan Di and her Asherah-Shamrock Hair. The presence that she released was so overwhelmingly potent that Wilheim almost found himself lost as he stared at her countenance, before snapping out of the trance gazing towards the two green and blue humanoids leaning against an enormous tree root.

The little ginseng king was standing on the chest of one of them, a fiery crown manifested above his head. Violent surges of fire natured spiritual energy emanating from the summon, two of its limbs missing as it struggled to maintain its hold on the blue skinned alien beneath him.

Activating the ability manifested from his Fragment Of Inspection, [With Eyes That Pierce Through The White Winter Plain], Wilheim observed the blue-skinned alien, finding that his status page possessed numerous additions to it, placed directly in between the Title and Mana Core section.

[Blood Death]: Inflicts a continuous blood-natured damage over time effect. Corrupts the blood, transforming the natural blood natured spiritual energy into a chaotic, self-destructive blood natured spiritual energy. Additional stacks have an additive effect.

[Tainted Pustules]: Inflicts a continuous fungi-natured damage over time effect. Poisonous spores feast on organs and glands, producing more spores as the effect progresses. Additional stacks have an additive effect.

[Malignant Growth]: Inflicts a continuous rot-natured damage over time effect. Effect scales with the number of debuffs affecting the target. Additional stacks have an additive effect.

[Black Marrow Poison]: Inflicts a continuous poison-natured damage over time effect. Dwells within the bone marrow, devouring white blood cells. Additional stacks have an additive effect.

[Curse Of Blood]: Reduces resistances towards all blood-related damages, afflictions and debuffs. Additional stacks have an additive effect.

[Curse Of Spores]: Reduces resistances towards all fungi-related damages, afflictions and debuffs. Additional stacks have an additive effect.

Wilheim felt his eyes widen, seeing the sheer number of debuffs and afflictions affecting this blue-skinned alien. Debuffs capable of reducing resistances combined with afflictions capable of producing a continuous damage-over-time effect produced a gradual but painful death.

The floresiensis turned towards Avahni, brows furrowed in concentration. The lutin appeared slightly pale after transferring Ru Luan Di so much of her spiritual energy, muttering just a single word towards Wilheim.

"Help."

The heir of House Freytal-Isenburg did not need anything more than that.

"I beseech you. The imperial warmth that dwells beneath. The radiant light that stretches beyond the horizon. Let the ones who formed the foundation revel in your embrace. Let the ones who built the walls find peace within your halls. Let the ones who guarded the gates find glory beneath your banner!".

Wilheim's hand glowed a soft gold, as he cast [Celebration Of Thou Hallowed Halls] on the blue-skinned alien. An additional line of text appeared beneath the list of debuffs and afflictions that was affecting his target, erasing the [Malignant Growth] debuff that had been wracking his form.

[Golden Warmth]: Blesses a target with the soft and gentle warmth of a castle hearth. Temporarily increases natural healing speed. Temporarily increases mana regeneration. Cleanses a single debuff or affliction from a willing target.

The golden castle natured spiritual energy that flowed throughout Shamael Of Lemnos caused his screaming to stop, the protective and stalwart nature of the spiritual energy reinforcing his natural healing speed and mana regeneration.

Castle natured spiritual energy was conceptually resistant to most forms of debuffs and afflictions. While weak to specific types of spiritual energy, fire natured spiritual energy was not one of them.

Despite the [Golden Warmth] buff not being able to stack over itself, Wilheim whispered the chant for [Celebration Of Thou Hallowed Halls] again, hoping to cleanse another debuff from Shamael. Waves upon waves of golden-coloured spiritual energy surged through the satanas' form, cleansing some of the afflictions that Ru Luan Di was incapable of focusing on.

The castle natured spiritual energy clung to the natural rot natured spiritual energy within Shamael, reinforcing it while preventing the foreign corruption from progressing any further.

Ru Luan Di would have grinned if ginsengs possessed mouths.

'Castle natured spiritual energy… I'll never make fun of those stone mountain-dwellers if I ever see them again!' the ginseng king thought to himself.

Ru Luan Di's fire natured spiritual energy surged, incinerating the foreign rot natured and corruption natured spiritual energy within his patient. With the reinforcement manifested from Wilheim's [Golden Bulwark], identifying what spiritual energy belonged to Shamael and what spiritual energy did not became significantly easier.

The little ginseng king lacked a method of perceiving spiritual energy, only able to discern its nature from his numerous experiences from his life before becoming a summon. If Avahni was able to integrate a Fragment Of Perception, or even a Fragment Of Observation into him in the future perhaps he would be able to heal Shamael all on his own.

'Although, that would be at the cost of giving up a Fragment Of Resurrection, or a Fragment Of Growth,' Ru Luan Di thought, observing his spiritual energy cleanse the [Curse Of Blood] debuff from his patient. The ginseng glanced towards Wilheim, who was still chanting his own cleansing Spell for the nth time, giving the floresiensis a small nod.

Although Wilheim was incapable of knowing this, he had just saved this blue-skinned alien's life.

'Perhaps, in the future his cleansing ability might be something interesting. A Fragment Of Heart and a Castle Mana Core. What a quaint combination,' Ru Luan Di smiled, throwing the thought to the back of his mind.

The worst part was over, and how Ru Luan Di just needed to remove the final traces of corruption from Shamael's body. The little ginseng king lifted his head, turning towards his summoner.

"Avahni. You can stop overloading your abilities. I think that I can cleanse the rest of the afflictions with just some help from-. Avahni look out!" Ru Luan Di shouted, causing the three conscious sapient lifeforms to turn around, their eyes widening at the approaching figure.

A sprinting blur of greyish-ash ran out from behind a tree. A humanoid figure with limbs longer than the length of its torso screamed as it ran towards Avahni, a serrated bronze coloured knife in its hand. Wearing nothing but a ragged, bloodstained tunic, the ashen-skinned creature maniacally waved the weapon in its hand.

Avahni, drained of all her wood natured spiritual energy and the vast majority of her fire natured spiritual energy possessed no offensive abilities for either her Water Mana Core or Wind Mana Core. Metzli was unable to manifest its self-regenerating shield around her summoner, while Ru Luan Di was over a dozen metres away.

All that was left was-.

"Avahni!"

The lutin's eyes widened as Huo Liyu manifested itself directly in front of this creature. The maniacal tainted-yellow colour of its eyes locking onto the nine-tailed carp in front of it, swinging down its knife directly upon the fish summon.

Wilheim decided to forgo the chant for [Celebration Of Thou Hallowed Halls] and instead muttered the chant to cast [Mountain Art; Weight Of The Frozen Peaks]. His words were swift, but the floresiensis fumbled halfway through the chant, his heart sinking as he watched the creature approach Huo Liyu.

The Crimson Nine-Tailed Carp moved to manifest the blazing sword construct crafted from its minor fire manipulation, gathering the faintest of embers in front of her. An amalgamation of cinders and kindling started forming in the space in front of her.

However, her timing was too late, the nine-tailed carp letting out a scream as a noxious-brown slash of knife natured spiritual energy cut straight through her tails.

Red-golden blood splattered on the forest floor, as the infant nine-tailed carp collapsed, dying for the first time after being summoned.

Huo Liyu did not even manage to mutter a single word, her death instant and the faint embers that she had gathered vanishing with the forest breeze.

The mocking laughter of this sentient ashen-skinned creature echoed throughout the forest, as Avahni just stared at the corpse of her second summon. Something within her heart cracking as she unblinkingly gazed towards Huo Liyu's body.

Her concentration broke causing her surging spiritual energy to subside. The lutin was incapable of focusing on anything else, other than the death of her carp companion. She did not even notice the ashen-skinned creature swing its knife towards her, the edge humming with a corruptive, brown-coloured light.

"Avahni move!" Wilheim shouted, trying to alert her to the approaching danger. Wilheim knew that he would not be able to cast [Mountain Art; Weight Of The Frozen Peaks] without Avahni getting caught within its radius. The floresiensis regretted that he did not cast [Light Of Thou Consecrated Shields], his eyes widening as he watched the knife being swung downwards, aiming for the centre of her chest.

Wilheim did not want to watch his friend and companion being stabbed to death, but the hazelnut skinned man was unable to look away. His breath hitched as a shimmering surge of blueish-white spiritual energy encased Avahni's figure, blocking the strike and repelling the ashen beast several metres backwards.

Wilheim turned his head with a speed that almost threatened to break his neck. The short humanoid looked towards the source of the repulsive magical shield around Avahni.

The green-skinned alien that once sat beside Ru Luan Di had extended her hand towards the lutin, fingers glowing with the same blueish-white spiritual energy that enveloped Avahni. Her golden coloured eyes narrowed in rage, Ru Luan Di sitting on her shoulder pointing towards the ashen-skinned creature with one of its two remaining limbs.

"Kill."

Wilheim did not need anything more than that, extending his own hand forward, shouting the chant for [Mountain Art; Weight Of The Frozen Peak].

"The price of thou sins shall be a solitude most cold. Thou shalt be striped of your flesh and pride and accept the burden of ten thousand winters. Thou blood shall turn to ice, and thou screams shall be trapped beneath thy glacial stele. Be blessed, for this is the weight of mine judgement".

Wilheim overloaded his Spell with as much mountain natured spiritual energy that remained within his Mountain Mana Core. An illusory image of an enormous ice-covered mountain top appeared above his target. The ashen-skinned creature looking up, surprised from the formless mountain image above him.

A flash of disgust appeared in Wilheim's eyes. The floresiensis lowered his extended hand, slamming the image down upon this abominable creature.

The creature felt an incredible amount of weight crashing down upon its body, resisting for a few moments before lifting its head, snarling at Wilheim from across the clearing.

The heir to House Freytal-Isenburg let out a snort, increasing the weight even further.

A tremendous thud echoed throughout the forest, as the orange-yellow blood of the creature splattered across the grass and dirt. More than two thirds of Wilheim's mountain natured spiritual energy expended to annihilate that beast.
