Once the groups were finalized, we departed from Blue Water City and made our way southwest to the same continent that the Vamp City was also located on. I believe the official name is the Valley of Red, and the City Lord is that Kimberly girl.
She had some spunk to her.
Hm.
It's been a while since I went there.
"Vrusha, once we make landfall, visit the City to the north. The one we fought the Vamps in. Make sure they're doing alright. Food and what not. Do not harm the locals, and make sure to check in with their City Lord. Her name should be Kimberly. Tell her Raizen sent you.
"You have an hour or two, I'll be waiting in the southern City for you."
His reply was swift and short as always. Of course, I expected nothing less.
Anyway, by the time we departed the continent to our next destination, another City had chosen not to rebel, and Kimberly and the Valley of Red were taken care of. Apparently they definitely needed some help in the food and security department.
Vrusha, took care of immediate threats, which included both people, and beast. Killing the latter also helped to take care of the food problem for a bit. That wasn't very sustainable long term, so a solution would have to be put in place to help them out.
The sooner we get this entire thing done and dusted, the sooner I can send out proper help for them and any other City who needs it.
That was including the latest City.
The City of Hope. Their City Lord was a tall, darkskin man by the name of Kofi. Jovial fella, but it was easy to see he had a ruthless streak in him.
Especially since he was dealing with a lot of refugees from the Valley of Red. I even had to make an announcement there that the Valley of Red was now safe and I highly recommended them to return.
I wasn't going to force them though, and that would be something Kofi and Kimberly would handle.
Richard would be sure to help when the time was right.
Gotta love Richard.
Moving on, we went to the continent to the right of the one we just left, where we entered something akin to what I imagined Antarctica to look like. Well not completely imagine as I've seen pictures and plenty of vids of the place. Either way, I understand why they named this City New Antarctica.
It was really just a lot of frozen ice basically everywhere.
And the fact it felt like Antarctica was really hammered home when we ran into penguins and even something that looked like seals I think.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
After visiting the City, we learned that hunting the seal looking things, and a lot of ice fishing was how they sustained themselves, and when the shop network was still up that would be how they got vegetables, grains, and everything they weren't able to grow here.
Now all of their reserve stores were practically empty.
Their City Lord was a Russian woman by the name of Anya, and she was pretty adamant in making sure I granted them access again to other shops so they could buy some much needed vegetables.
Another task for you Richard.
Anyway, it was pretty easy once we found the City as a small group that got here first as planned and briefed City Lord Anya of our arrival. That was the only reason she was so prepared to tell me of their plights and even place her request for vegetables.
We eventually left the ice block of a City known as New Antarctica and made our way to something that isn't really a continent. Just a pretty big island.
Though it was more long than it was wide when compared to an island like the one Blue Water City was located at.
Well the size of it didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. What mattered was the City who called this place home.
The Garden of the Dead. Led by City Lord Tenzen.
And if there was a City that fit it's name then it was this one.
Well kinda.
There were still humans here, and I didn't come to find a City filled will skeletons and zombies having breakfast together, but that didn't mean that there were any at all.
It might have only been around 10 in total, but I definitely saw scrawny looking skeletons doing menial tasks around the City. A City that was constantly covered by mist mind you.
Kind like that forest where all the tree branch looking things are located.
And due to City Lord Tenzen here and the faction he made a deal with flooding the island with Death Qi, all of the wildlife on the island either died due to not being able to adapt, or well, they successfully adapted and changed drastically into animals that were now dependent on Death Qi to survive.
Some very quick evolution taking place.
Anyway Tenzen didn't talk much, and he always seemed like he was calculating something the entire time I was there, but I didn't have time to figure out whatever he was potentially scheming so we left.
They didn't really need much anyway, the City was self-sustaining. The only worry I had was the Death Qi spreading beyond the island. I didn't really plan on allowing that. They could have their little paradise of death but that is where it shall remain.
After that little odd visit, three more Cities remained before the one in the north.
Cliffside City led by a man named John Rikers, a City quite literally built on a massive cliff. It actually looked really cool. It was like one of those old medieval classes in Europe or something.
No problems were faced there.
Little Earth. Our local Dwarven City, but I already paid them a visit through our MT Station. Nice to actually see where they were though.
And finally, The Gaia Empire.
The only City so far that chose to rebel.
"What happened exactly."
I asked the Infernals who greeted me on top of the City walls.
"Patriarch, the City Lord initially refused us entry into the City, and upon forcing our way in, we were met with heavy resistance and fighting. We held off fighting back until the City Lord officially confirmed his desire to rebel and fight against you.
"Their strongest warriors were barely Qi Refinement, so the battle didn't last long. Around half of them were killed before a surrender was called for. The City Lord is currently restrained within his abode. That is all Patriarch."
I nodded at him as I gazed upon the City.
Even though his happened a bit ago by now, bodies were still being cleaned off the streets.
Sigh.
I guess everything can't be smooth sailing from start to finish.
Though it's a shame thousands of people had to die due to the mistake of one idiot.
Or at least I think it was one idiot…if was the entire City rising up to rebel instead of just the City Lord then I would feel a bit less sorry for them.
Either way, a new City Lord is needed.
