Infernal Apocalypse [ LitRPG , Non-Human Lead, Lots and lots of Fire ]

195. Good Talks (Book Three)

Well I'm a bit worried about follow up questions, but the answer to why I didn't want to accept any form of marriage proposal was really simple.

"I'm too young for marriage at the moment, and I believe in love with your partner. Accepting any type of marriage proposal is not really something I plan on doing. Ever."

She gave a subtle smile and then brought her elbows up to the table and then rested her chin on her hands as she leaned in.

This woman is a seductress.

"That's an interesting view. One the nobles of my Empire do not share. Marriage is nothing but a political tool. Only the commons have the freedom to marry for love."

Hm. Well that's not completely unheard of.

"There was a time a long time ago, where that was pretty popular here, but for the most part people marry who they want."

Turns out the princess immortal living beneath the ocean actually didn't want to have marriage talks.

She made no advances, offered no proposals, nor brought up marriage again after we moved on from the topic. She simply wanted to talk.

And that's all we did for few hours. We talked about her own culture and Empire, we talked about Earth and how things were before the Tutorial, we talked about Infernals briefly, and everything in between. If there was every anything I didn't want to discuss, she never pressed or asked for more.

Honestly all in all, it wasn't a bad conversation, and I somewhat enjoyed it. Actually, I definitely enjoyed it. It's definitely been a long time since I've had a regular conversation like that with someone. All the members of my Clan are all stiff as rocks, and everyone else watches their words a bit around me.

Well, there's Richard, but I don't get to talk to him as much with how much work I've given him. Maybe I should mingle in the local bar back home more often…Nah I don't want to chat all that badly.

Either way the conversation was a good one, and it was also a very important one. She gave me information on where all the remaining Cities were. She didn't tell me about everything in the way of those Cities, just the direction to go to reach them. Which means Vrusha and the others weren't scouting for no reason.

One of the most interesting things we spoke about though was the existence of demons on the Planet. Something that hasn't been as big of a problem as I'd initially thought it would be. While she didn't know about the effect that Eternal Flames had on demons, she knew demons weren't a well liked race, and she wondered why we allowed their presence here.

I still couldn't spot them, but it was no issue for her Immortal senses, and she said the first thing she did when she got here was to remove them from the City.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Unfortunately I didn't have an answer to her question because Elder Zal hadn't discussed that in detail with me for some reason.

Something on my list to get answers about in the future.

In the meantime though, the Princess had her own thoughts about demons. She thought they were evil, chaos and disorder sowing wretches that deserved to be eradicated from the Multiverse.

And it was apparently how a good portion of the Multiverse felt.

Except, it was understood that demons would never be fully wiped from the Multiverse because there was nothing that could fully kill them. Well nothing with an asterisk. The ones she killed were gone for good…as what she did was essentially sealing them using Immortal Qi.

Of course that was my first time learning about Immortal Qi, but unfortunately she hadn't digressed anything further in that regard.

Anyway, the ones she removed weren't coming back.

But she was also curious as to why the demons were so well behaved, and not causing any problems openly, which is what led her to believe that we were sanctioning their presence here on the Planet.

Which we weren't…or at least I wasn't.

I mean I actually didn't have a reason to go on a demon killing spree either.

I believe Elder Zal mentioned that there were a few hundred thousand of them on the Planet?

That wasn't a small number, and I don't know why they haven't been openly wreaking havoc. I don't why they hadn't attacked or caused a much bigger ruckus during the Vamp stuff, and I don't know why they haven't come to see me like Elder Zal said they would.

There was a whole lot to unpack about it all, but now wasn't the time.

After my conversation with the Princess was over, I told her I'd return for another conversation in the future if she was still here. She assured me that she would be here for a bit.

When I asked what's a bit…she mentioned at least a few hundred years. The fact she considered 'a bit' a few hundred years gave me some insight as to how old she was…which made me glad that I didn't show a reaction on my face.

Anyway, we'll be having more conversations in the future.

For now, it was time to travel to the other Cities and wrap this world trip up.

I eventually returned to the shore to see that it was night time, and my traveling band of Infernals were waiting for me on the shore.

"Vrusha, make sure you collect all the scouting information for logging back home. The local Princess gave me the directions for all the remaining Cities we need to hit. We will head southwest from here to the continent that the Vamp City was on, there's another City there.

"From there we will head east for to the next continent, and the next City, before heading north to a large island of sorts where another City is located. Further north beyond is another massive continent, where will find three more Cities.

"And then finally, there is another continent, north of the winter wonderland on our own continent where we will find the final City.

"There's a long way to go still, and we need to complete it soon, so let's move quickly. No more delays in any other City. From here on out, I need agreement from the local City Lord before I even get there.

"Which means some of you need to first head to those continents I mentioned ahead of me.

"Vrusha you and a small contingent will remain with me, everyone else will split into different groups and head to the locations I mentioned. All of them except the one in the far north. We'll all do that one together."

I let Vrusha spend a few minutes coordinating the groups as I thought about the northern most continent.

Not considering demons, or Vamps how the hell would a City survive up there? Something isn't adding up.

The further north we went into the cold area, the colder and more dangerous it became…and you were telling me that there was a City beyond the point we reached? It just didn't add up honestly.

Which is why I felt it would be best to be all hands on deck when visiting that City. I have a weird feeling about what we'll find there.
