The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha

Chapter 527: Opening the Chaos Battlefield

Chaos creatures have no fixed form and do not abide by the Primordial rules. After arriving at the Chaos Battlefield and absorbing the Spiritual Energy of the Primordial, they start to transform from tangled masses into various twisted beings.

The general impression they give is one of disgust.

The Heavenly Soldiers and Generals, evidently lacking experience in battling Chaos creatures, suffered some setbacks in the first wave.

Fortunately, with Deng Chanyu coordinating from the center, the formation quickly stabilized. Chaos creatures inherently possess the Chaos Attribute, and the quality of Primordial Spiritual Energy is no match for Chaotic Spiritual Energy. This greatly limits the Divine Skills and Spells of the Immortals,

but there are countermeasures, namely, attacks using Magical Treasures and physical confrontations.

This is where Immortals proficient in hand-to-hand combat, such as Yang Jian and Sun Wukong, have a significant advantage.

After being scattered, Chaos creatures do not have a physical body but yield two things: the Chaos Crystals, which contain their energy, and the Chaotic Spiritual Energy from their bodies.

Chaos Crystals, being highly energetic substances, are invaluable cultivation resources for current Immortals.

Furthermore, Nezha, linking the surplus Chaotic Spiritual Energy to the grand vortex where the Daoist Ancestor is refining the Demon God, supplements the Primordial.

Nezha watched as the Heavenly Soldiers brought in the second wave, which was the underworld's Witch Clan.

The Witch people rejoice at the prospect of battle, preferring it much more than working. Big brother Emperor Jiang, upon receiving Nezha's notification, rushed over with his subordinates enthusiastically.

Even six of the Ten Halls Yama showed up, for what king of the underworld wouldn't find more joy in fighting?

The Witch people rely on their formidable physical bodies in battle, which are highly resistant to Chaos erosion, or perhaps they've inherently inherited many of Pangu's Chaos traits, making them natural enemies of Chaos creatures.

No need to say more about Emperor Jiang; just relying on his physical form, without even using his Space Divine Power, he charges around aggressively.

Watching the battlefield stabilize, Nezha sighed in relief, feeling that the Primordial Immortals should not remain idle—his revelation from being Heavenly Emperor for so long.

These guys are like huskies, bounding with excessive energy that could land them in trouble.

So Nezha seized the opportunity to open this battlefield, addressing their restless boredom.

Go fight the Chaos creatures; it not only hones your Divine Skills and Spells but also grants cultivation resources and creates value for the Primordial.

With Chaos creatures being endless, you'll never lack enemies.

Of course, relying solely on the Heavenly Court and the underworld is inadequate, so Nezha intended to open a permanent battlefield for the entire Primordial.

Nezha laid down a Space Array at the exit of the Chaos Battlefield using some spiritual materials as the teleportation point for this instance.

Then, Nezha declared to the heavens: "Heavenly Dao above, now that Chaos invades Primordial, all Immortals have the responsibility to defend their land..."

After explaining his plan and execution, and what outcome to expect, the Heavenly Dao once again bestowed Merit.

Strange to say, having not done this for a long time, I'm a bit rusty myself.

Nonetheless, achieving this counts as an accomplishment, and my stand-in role wasn't in vain.

After Nezha returned to the Heavenly Court and announced the decree, Immortals and Gods spread throughout the Primordial. Simultaneously, they established teleportation points in the Four Continents, the underworld, and the Heavenly Court.

The Yin Zhuo King and Randeng didn't expect their plan to devour Hao Tian to turn into a large-scale Chaos invasion instance fabricated by Nezha.

The Primordial is home to countless Immortals. With the Heavenly Dao vouching for Nezha's decree, its credibility is high, and clearly, the Heavenly Dao is very concerned.

Coupled with the fact that Immortals inherently love adventure, they started entering to try it out continually.

Chaos creatures surely aren't easy adversaries, but when many Immortals started acquiring Chaos Crystals, their enthusiasm surged.

Chaos creatures are dangerous? What isn't dangerous in Cultivation?

Even if you stay in a cave cultivating, you could be blown to bits by the residual waves of a Great Expert Magic!

Nezha didn't partake in the business end, but surely, he's not missing out. Daji's Heavenly Market quickly set up outside the Chaos Battlefield, starting trade.

Following Nezha's strategy, Daji didn't exploit them, but with countless Primordial Immortals, profiting a little from each becomes formidable.

Immortals didn't complain; although the Heavenly Court's items are slightly pricier, their quality is assured. Inside is life or death; economizing could cost you your life.

If you want to gamble your life, indeed, you can buy from the street vendors.

This instance-with-service was thus completed. Nezha hadn't figured out what the Corrupt Demon God planned with such a display.

But it's immaterial; you can't reason with the minds of Chaos Demon Gods, especially this full-of-crap one.

Outside Chaos, the Yin Zhuo King and Randeng looked at each other in dismay.

Let me first declare, the two of us are definitely not afraid of Nezha!

We simply didn't know how to proceed.

"Didn't you say that Hao Tian has always been at odds with Nezha? Then why was he the first to respond?"

Randeng was somewhat helpless. The two of them arrived brimming with ambition, planning to shine, but they didn't even dare pass through the gate, which was quite embarrassing.

Even though Randeng didn't care about his face, for he was no longer human.

The Yin Zhuo King spoke in a muffled voice, pondering in disbelief, dreaming of Nezha's ax—his swiftest halt ever!

"How should I know? That guy never follows common rules."

He could sense Hao Tian inside the space Nezha opened, but he dared not enter, and abandoning it felt frustrating.

The Yin Zhuo King hesitated multiple times, but resolutely said, "I don't believe he can watch us forever!"

...

Over there, Nezha finished all minor affairs and returned to the Chaos Battlefield. As for Sun Wukong?

By this time, he was going wild on the Chaos Battlefield, never having felt such joy.

He even got in with Emperor Jiang.

Nezha watched the two address each other as brothers and was speechless; their camaraderie developed too swiftly.

"Wukong, stop drinking. I'm taking you to rescue your master."

Sun Wukong paused, his recent life too enjoyable, he'd even forgotten his master and junior brother.

"Big brother, I'll find you for a drink later. Let me rescue my master first."

Emperor Jiang waved his hand to indicate its flexibility; he was never one to adhere to conformity, dispatched here by Lady Houtu as the permanent director of the underworld Chaos Battlefield.

The task was to do whatever he loved.

Nezha led Sun Wukong to Hao Tian's sealing place, aware that finding Hao Tian meant he could retire.

Doing over and over is not viable; if Nezha had to step in again, his retirement would be indefinite.

He held no ambitions for the Heavenly Emperor position. Anything the Heavenly Emperor could possess, he already had; what the Heavenly Emperor lacked, he could gain, so why covet a title?

Hao Tian now lacked the energy to undermine him; the person Hao Tian most wanted to deal with was the Yin Zhuo King.

The pursuit of Chaos Origin is arduous and fraught with futility if fundamental origins are mostly lost.

Thus, now is indeed the time to bring back Hao Tian, for Nezha had his own pursuits.

Truthfully, the role of Heavenly Emperor was wearing thin; watching beauties and hearing songs daily lost its appeal.

Well, maybe it retained some charm, admittedly.
