Timekeeping & Year Systems

This novel's world has two calendars.

1. Religious Year/Calendar

Used by: The general populace, traditionalists, and for most daily matters.

Length: Typically spans 15 to 16 civil months.

Function: Tied to divine cycles, festivals, and spiritual observances.

Seen as more "natural" or "sacred" by the people.

2. Civil Year/Calendar

Used by: Scholars, administrators, state institutions but aslo the Noble class for legal and bureaucratic matters.

Structure: Composed of 28 to 31-day months, following a more structured and secular system.

Purpose: Ensures consistent record-keeping, property rights, and political or military logistics.

People are considered adults at 14 in religious years but full emancipation occurs at 15. Until then, they cannot marry without parental consent or purchase a leasehold. They still can rent property if they can provide sufficient collateral.
