After thinking about the fact that he was capable of saving more lives if he simply stopped hiding, Jake took a deep breath and summoned all.
The skeletons, ogres, the tainted, and the snake — but he didn't go as far as Drake. That was something he wasn't just going to do.
The skeletons all moved in a group this time, all of them attacking one orc at a time.
When the people that were inside the library saw a massive snake appear out of nowhere, they were filled with fear, thinking it was another monster that had come to attack.
Jake didn't bother with others though; he gave Fang his instruction. "Attack."
Fang shot forward, its massive body slithering through the floor. An orc attacked, but before its attack could land, Fang bit into its head and ripped it apart in one second.
[You have gained 200 EXP, 100 soul shards]
Fang lunged at another orc, ripping into it and tearing it apart in the same manner as before. It slithered around, slamming orcs into the walls and crushing them into paste.
Despite the size of it, it was extremely fast. Its attacks had pinpoint precision, killing at a stunning rate, while Jake stood there watching. It was the perk of being a necromancer.
Jake was busy observing Fang, and he didn't notice that his skeleton undead had brought down close to five orcs at this point. It wasn't until a unique message popped up:
[Undead skeleton level up]
[Undead skeleton level up]
[Undead skeleton level up]
.....
All the skeletons had leveled up, and theirs wasn't just a simple increase in power and strength — their stats almost doubled, and right off the bat, their arsenal of skills became larger.
He watched them attack with crazy precision now, even dodging attacks, not only blocking, and their teamwork seemed to have taken a massive growth even without his help.
The ten of them charged at an orc. It attacked them, swinging its mace and expecting them to be blown away or dodge. But instead, two undead skeletons rushed up and blocked the attack with their shields. It was as if the mace met with a brick wall, unable to move forward.
With the attack blocked, the rest closed in the gap. Eight of them all at the same time attacked the orc, their swords cutting deep into its body. It lasted barely three seconds before the orc died, and they immediately rushed to the next one.
The orc saw them coming and tried to attack first, but they made the same attack pattern — blocked the attack and the rest charged in closer to finish the kill.
They became like a rushing wind. When they went past, an orc would die. The more they did it, the faster they became, and their precision was remarkable.
On the other side, the Tainted was attacking at range. It used its twisted hands, extending them before the orcs could even get close.
Two orcs rushed at it, hands spread out, ready to attack. The Tainted extended its arms and stabbed right through them before they could get close, lifting them off the ground and slamming them down until their bodies were a bloody mush.
It pulled out its arms and its eyes already locked on a new target. The orc didn't even know something was coming when a black tentacle shot out of the ground, wrapped around its leg and ripped the leg apart. It followed up to rip the second leg, hands, and head off. The blood spilled everywhere, creating a gruesome sight.
Jake watched the fight happening without a single look of worry on his face, as if he had all the confidence that his undead would easily handle the task here.
[You have leveled up, 2 stat points]
Jake didn't even know when more than fifteen orcs died and he leveled up, but before long, another thirty-five died there.
[You have leveled up, 2 stat points]
Crypt stabbed into the last orc. He pulled out his spear, waiting for another orc to come out, but instead, the portal closed.
Jake watched as it closed. 'So there is a limited amount a particular portal can give out, I'm guessing.'
Now that the orcs were gone, the library went quiet for a moment before erupting in cheers for Jake, who had saved everyone's life.
But out of nowhere, a flaming arc shot toward Jake. It cut through the air with its blazing heat, but before the attack could even make it halfway, Crypt leapt into the air and dashed down, destroying the attack.
Jake looked up to the second floor, and there was a man standing there. He had short blond hair and was dressed in high-quality clothes — definitely a noble of some sort — and in his hand was his sword.
"Who said you could take down all the orcs? Trying to gather all the points here? You believe I'll allow you to do that? Act like a hero when all you wanted is the points?" the man yelled.
'Oh yeah, I forgot there were other Chosen here besides me,' Riven thought. He didn't expect that one of them would stand up against him though.
"So what if I gathered the points? You could have done something instead of hiding there and waiting for everything to blow over," Jake said.
"How dare you? Do you know who you are talking to?" the man yelled.
Crypt pointed his spear at the man. "You'll mind the way you speak to my master," Crypt said. "Your first attack was the last attack you'll make at him in any way. Be careful."
'Why the hell is he trying to look cool again? Screw you, Crypt,' Jake said in his mind.
"A mere servant like you dares to talk to me because you killed some orcs? I'll make you pay!" the man yelled. He leapt off the second floor, his sword erupting in flames.
'Is this really happening? There are monsters outside, and this dude wants to battle me?' Jake thought.
