GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2454: Pathway Of Time.

Of all the pathways in the tenebrum world, the godclads of the pathway of traveling are better at dealing with the the godclads of the undying pathway because travelers possess the Sensing Danger and Fortune divine ability, the Skin Tearing divine ability, and the Speed Boost divine ability.

The rank 2 Sensing Danger and Fortune divine ability ensures that undying godclads can't hide from travelers or sneak up to them for a surprise attack.

The rank 3 Skin Tearing divine ability also works incredibly well against the Aegis Shield because shields are sort of skins, and that divine ability is very good at tearing shields.

Finally, the rank 1 Speed Boost divine ability ensures that undying godclads will not be able to escape from travelers at the same level. And these are just the first three divine abilities of travelers.

Travels possesses many more divine abilities, such as the rank 4 Mirage, the rank 5 Mirage Clones, the rank 6 Mirage Shift, the rank 7 Wind Walker, the rank 8 Fastest, and the rank 9 Foresight.

Their rank 10 divine ability, also known as their ultimate divine ability, is unknown. But Legion believes that it has to be a very powerful ability, or the god of travelers wouldn't be referred to as the god of time.

This is clearly a powerful pathway. Even Legion was tempted to use this pathway when they were making their decision about which four pathways they should take.

They had only given up on this pathway because there was already a god in this pathway. If not for that, they might be travelers now too.

All of these extra divine abilities are powerful. Even though they don't specifically target undying godclads, they still make travelers more difficult to deal with.

This made Legion look forward to testing their Invisibility Shield against this traveler. They were even determined to attack him to enslave him.

They don't mind if they fail. They just want to see to what extent their Invisibility Shield divine ability would be useful.

This was also why they still went ahead to attack the traveler even though he was together with the demigod knight.

Legion-12 shrugged and said, "One or two doesn't matter for the test. In fact, the more the merrier."

They expected to be noticed as soon as they stepped into the room and harbored harmful intentions towards them. After all, they were just about 20 years old. They were still too young to let the Invisibility Shield divine ability cover up their ill intent.

The best that they should expect from the Invisibility Shield divine ability right now is being hidden from sight. But their smell and the sound they produce as they fly through the air should be obvious to everyone.

The legendary godclads that they tested earlier hadn't noticed them, probably because they were stronger than them. But these two are their peers in terms of spiritual power, and one of them even possesses divine abilities that can deal with them, so Legion's expectations were very low.

But as things turned out, they still weren't noticed when they entered the room. So Legion moved closer to the two demigods. But they still weren't noticed.

The two demigods were talking and having quite an animated conversation. They didn't show any reaction that they had noticed Legion's presence, and they didn't seem to be pretending.

They continued to chat as if they were the only ones in the room. This made Legion stop in front of them and wave their hands before their faces.

When the two demigods still didn't react, Legion decided to attack.

Legion-1 said, "Since they won't notice us now, we should make them regret it."

They had had enough of this confusing situation and wanted to end it. So Legion formed, liberated the divine form of the pathway of killing, formed a blood limb with their blood, augmented it with their divine abilities, and then swung it at the arm of the traveler.

They chose to attack the traveler because he should be the most sensitive one. It is also why they didn't expect to hit the tracker at all.

But the unexpected happened. The blood limb struck the man's arm and cut it cleanly.

But that wasn't the weirdest part of what happened. Legion was already struck speechless when the traveler didn't sense the danger and didn't try to avoid it. But they became even more surprised when the traveler didn't react to his injury.

The traveler reacted as if his arm hadn't been severed. He continued to chat with the knight as if nothing was amiss. Despite the fact that the stump where his arm used to be was bleeding profusely, he still didn't react.

The demigod knight was also playing along. He ignored the attack, the severed arm on the ground, and the bleeding stump where the arm used to be.

The only change was that the spiritual energy consumption of the Invisibility Shield had increased fourfold. But this didn't explain their situation, and Legion didn't even notice this change because they were too shocked by the turn of events.

All of these made Legion step back in shock. But soon their shock became so great that it transformed into fear.

They became afraid because this whole situation was abnormal. It was so abnormal that they suspected that they had been caught in an illusion of some sort.

The worst part is that they hadn't noticed any danger at all. There had been no warning when they were affected by the illusion or dream, and it made their fear peak to the highest level it has ever reached. After all, the greatest fear is the fear of the unknown.

Their power has reached a level where no being in the pathway can affect them without noticing. The only possible explanation for why they were caught in an illusion without at least being able to notice the danger is that the person who trapped them is a god.
