The abyssal energy in the air surged, moving into the puppets. When it touches them, they release a screeching moan that reacts with the abyssal energy to create a violent shockwave.
'Has some potential. But not enough to face my majestic self,' Kent thought with a grin.
Khar'ul didn't share in his sentiment. With a gesture from his bony hands, thousands of corpse puppets behind him surged forward, red eyes blazing, some sprinting on all fours, others floating, some leaping through the air with sharpened bone claws.
Kent smirked faintly.
'What a comic display of weakness.' He didn't want to admit it, but the sight was laughable.
However, inasmuch as he would like to hold his stomach and laugh his brains out, he decided to be the bigger person and let the moment pass.
He came seeking the one who placed the curse on Aala's mother, but from what he had seen so far, none of the three Monarchs had what it took.
But that also isnt enough to let them off without some beating.
Kent shifted his stance and raised his sword gently. The energy coming from the corpse puppets was perfect for Gaap's growth.
"Gaap… time to feast."
FWOOOM.
Hearing the command, the ancient demonic sword became happy... 'This is the best. So much resentment.' Gaap's voice entered Kent's mind, making him smile.
Black mist erupted from the sword, condensing into five shadowy jaws that opened beneath Kent and lunged forward like a tidal wave.
Khar'mol instantly sensed danger; however, it was already too late for him to do anything.
The first row of corpse puppets was devoured instantly.
The second row followed.
The third row tried to retreat forcefully, but it was already too late. Kent knew what he wanted from the moment he laid eyes on the corpse puppets. So he made his move when the time was ripe.
Within seconds, thousands were erased, and Gaap kept devouring, even jaw chasing after the ones retreating. They weren't faster than Gaap, who Kent had reinforced with blood runes.
Khar'mol panicked and slammed the butt of his scythe on the ground.
"STOP!"
Kent grinned and lifted his hand, forcing three blood runes to merge with it... "Why should I? I already gave you a way out, but you didn't take it. Now, let me kill you in peace."
The merged blood runes on Kent's hand pulsed, emitting a suffocating killing intent. In an instant, the only energy in the air became a suffocating mixture of blood and sword qi.
Even the demonic winds trembled as Kent's aura shifted.
It is now chaotic and more chilling than before.
Khar'mol staggered backwards, his face turning even paler. The other two have also distanced themselves from Kent, feeling their lives threatened. It took just one exchange for them to know they were no match for him.
"Stay back!" Khar'mol hissed at his remaining puppets, but Gaap ignored him entirely.
FWOOOOOSH—
The shadow jaws expanded wider, now large enough to swallow a hill. They lunged toward Khar'mol, directly creating a booming echo that kept pushing pressure onto Khar'mol.
The Bone Monarch reacted instinctively.
His scythe spun, carving a crescent slash of abyssal energy that cleaved through the shadows. He poured so much energy into the attack that space trembled when he swung his weapon.
BOOM!
Gaap trembled and recoiled a step, but Kent didn't.
His flame veins activated, boosting his speed. In the blink of an eye, he appeared above Khar'mol, an evil smile plastered on his face.
Two blood runes moved and merged with his foot.
"This is for disobeying my command." His foot descended, creating a sonic boom.
CRACK! BOOM!
The Bone Monarch's head was driven into the ground so hard that the land cratered, trembling like an earthquake.
However, as someone who is half-step from becoming an immortal, Khar'mol roared, lifting the scythe despite half his spine cracking. "Abyssal Binding Chains!"
Black tendrils burst from the earth, wrapping around Kent's limbs and torso. It was his desperate move that yielded no results.
They tightened, abyssal flames burning through them; however, Kent wasn't fazed.
"Futile."
Kent's magnificent golden eyes flashed blue, then, as if the Queen of Ice chose to appear on Planet Modu, the entire planet's temperature plummeted, freezing the land and water.
All over the planet, beasts with low resistance to ice were instantly frozen and then shattered into bits and chunks.
The tendrils binding Kent also turned to ice, and then, with a mere tap of his finger, they shattered, freeing him. However, Kent didn't stop there.
He extended his hand, and Gaap flew into his firm grip.
"Since this place is a waste, I might as well destroy the planet." The temperature dropped even further, forcing the three Monarchs to activate their domains.
However, Kent just smirked and stomped on the ground...
"Chaos Ice Domain."
A wave of chilling ice washed over the planet, instantly shattering the three domains. It extended further, causing Hundreds of thousands of beasts to die in an instant, but Kent didn't seem to care.
They aren't intelligent beasts, after all, so he had nothing to be sorry about. If this were a planet ruled by spirit beasts, he would have considered the innocent casualties.
He raised his sword, and three deadly swords made from blue ice appeared and aimed at the three monarchs"
"Interesting. It seems even without activating the Absolute Ice, I can overpower three Death Stage beasts." A wicked smile appeared on his lips. "I bet using that here will surely render this planet useless after my attack."
"Why don't I give it a go?"
"PLEASE STOP. WE WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR!"
Lilixen spoke, her body shivering as if she had taken a bad cold medicine.
"I am not interested, lady. I can just kill you three and extract what I want from your memories."
"PLEASE."
One could see the fear in their eyes.
Initially, Kent just wanted to test how merging his blood runes with his sword aura would work. However, he quickly saw how devastating it could be.
From Chaos' memories, he saw him merge the blood runes with his claw aura, making every swing of his claw deadly.
However, seeing and actually doing it are two different things. Thankfully, he was able to test it out and knew when he met a worthy opponent, they were going to regret their life choice.
Next, he chose to use his newly acquired ice element to test the three Monarchs. Safe to say, with just 30% of it, the entire planet is about to turn into a ball of ice.
The wind is completely frozen, a testament to how devastating the ice is.
Kent lowered his sword slightly, the three ice-forged blades still hovering behind him like executioners waiting for the command to slaughter.
The frozen winds howled across Modu, and even the ground beneath Kent's feet crackled under the overwhelming cold.
Lilixen trembled violently, her knees nearly buckling.
Khar'mol's skull was half-buried in the frost-covered crater, cracks spreading across it like fractured glass. Azrakul, missing two arms, forced himself to stand straight but failed, coughing up black demonic blood.
None of them dared move.
None of them dared breathe too loudly.
Kent's eyes glowed faintly with icy blue light as the three swords floated closer, shifting their angles to aim at the three Monarchs' throats.
"One more chance. Just one," Kent said calmly, almost bored. "Speak. Now."
Lilixen dropped to her knees.
"We… didn't cast the curse," she said quickly, her voice breaking. "It wasn't us. I swear."
Kent didn't blink.
He didn't need to ask for elaboration.
He just waited, knowing they would sing like canaries soon enough.
