Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1284: Revealing His Identity

Kent obviously didn't expect Adin to laugh at what he said. In his view of Adin, he saw him as a no-nonsense kind of guy, so the last thing he expected from him was to laugh that loud and freely at his words.

This action changed the way he sees Adin.

But since he would love to revel in flipping Adin's mockery, Kent knew he had to change his mind somehow. It would be a long stretch, but he had to do it.

Karma, from what he had seen recently, seemed to hate him, so he didn't want to slip up. Thankfully, he had lived long enough to know how to go around Karma without offending him.

'If he takes offence, then he can just go fuck himself.' Kent said inwardly, unaware that Karma heard everything.

"During the Dark Era, long before the creatures of the dark came, there was an assassin known by many as the Faceless Assassin. They gave him this name because, from what they know, he had many faces, and every face he took became his to command down to the last detail."

Adin fell quiet, his focus returning to Kent.

"They said two friends who would never dare backstab each other could become the weapon that would kill the other whenever the Faceless Assassin is added to the equation.

Many said he even killed the unkillable Demon King of the Askika Blood Demon Race, setting an unbreakable record in the society of assassins."

"It is common knowledge, so why waste your time using it to try to convince me?" Adin asked, giving Kent a bored look.

"Hold on and let me finish," Kent said, then he added, "You see, if I were to go on about the Faceless Assassin, we wouldn't be leaving here today, so I will cut it simple and tell you what you don't know."

Kent took another sip of his tea and began, "To many, Faceless just killed the Demon King after disguising himself as a trusted royal healer and best friend to the Demon King. However, what they didn't know was how many he had to kill to get that close.

It started with a guard on night patrol. He killed him after finding out he was screwing two women at the same time, and he stole his face.

Then he used his face to kill another guard who patrols the mansion where the general overseeing the outer demon army lived.

From there, he had to kill his way to the General, who took orders straight from one of the Demon Lords, who was much closer to the Ashkrail's wife, and yes, they were screwing.

So the moment he got that Demon Lord's face, he finally managed to gain access to the Demon King's Mansion.

From there, it was as simple as assassinating his way to the Royal Healer. It took 20 kills and a lot of planning, but he managed to reach him.

On the night he killed the Demon King, he killed his three sons and two daughters, including all 17 wives. Aside from them, he killed 305 guards and four maids. But he spared one of his daughters since he saw no fault with her.

Years later, he regretted his action. That harmless young lady turned out to be far worse than her father.

The death of billions of people caused by that harmless bitch told Faceless what he needed to do: never to let evil take the life of the innocent.

That is where the Midnight Shadows came from." Adin took a deep and large gulp, his back shaking.

"H-how did you know all this?"

"I am not done, Adin," Kent continued, "After he managed to kill that hateful lady finally, on his way back, he witnessed a battle between a Mountain Wardog, one of the deadliest beasts in the universe, and a frail-looking assassin wielding two red daggers.

From the start to the end of the battle, the bony fellow was at a disadvantage. However, in the end, he emerged as the winner.

He was Titus Elorm, a Dark Human. Years later, he would be known by all as Crimson Dagger, the first Faceless Agent. Then the Weeping Scythe would appear, becoming the second Faceless Agent."

Adin shuddered in his boot, his expression turning pale as he stared at Kent's face.

All Kent had said just now sounded like nonsense. However, as he started linking it to the hidden records of the Midnight Shadows, he couldn't help but validate them.

The Midnight Shadows worship the Faceless Assassin to the point that they spent several eras compiling all they could on him. As one rises through the ranks, they would be granted access to read them to strengthen their belief in their founder.

So, unless one is a high-ranking member of the Midnight Shadows, they would never know.

He knew Kent was not a Midnight Shadow, since he didn't have the Midnight Seal. If Kent had one, he would have sensed it.

All Midnight Shadows can sense that mark.

So, for Kent to know such hidden details about their Leader and founder, he must have somehow come into contact with Midnight Records. That is the only explanation.

But when he started naming the First Faceless Agents, beings with similar powers to the Faceless Assassin, his mind broke.

"How did you know all this? Who are you?"

Adin asked, his hand resting on his dagger. Seeing this, Kent chuckled.

"I believe you know. You are brilliant, so I know you have already connected the dots." Kent paused for a moment, then he added jokingly,

"If you don't believe I am him, I can just make you a Faceless Agent." Kent laughed and took another sip of his drink.

"You know what, I am just going to do it since I need no permission from anyone." Before Adin could process it, Kent pressed his finger against his forehead and transmitted the modified version of the Faceless Art to him.

It instantly integrated into his soul, and the Faceless Seal appeared on his forehead.

Adin's eyes widened, feeling the change that happened to him. Before he knew it, the process was done, leaving him in a daze.

He sat there for a few minutes, his mind blank. However, when he finally regained his calm, he dropped to his knees and bowed, forehead touching the ground.

There is no denying it now. From what he knew, to become a Faceless Assassin, one must go through the Faceless Ascension Trial, something only a few had passed.

In the Midnight Records, only the First Seven Faceless Agents received their mark from the Faceless Assassin himself.

It was recorded in the Midnight Records that, aside from the Faceless Assassin, nobody else could give the Faceless Agent Mark unless they passed through the Faceless Ascension trial.

So the fact that Kent had casually transferred the Faceless Art to him and that he even received the Faceless Agent Mark was all the confirmation he needed.

"This Midnight Shadow greets the Faceless Assassin."

Kent grinned, liking the sound of that.

"Stand up, Adin. I am not fully back yet, so no need for the dramatics. I need your help, and since you aren't an easy nut to crack, I had to go this extreme."

Adin bowed his head in shame. "I had no idea I was in the presence of the Faceless Assassin. I deserve to be punished."

"I suppose the idea behind the Faceless Art is to be unrecognisable, so it is not your fault. However, I need your help to reach the one who placed the seal on the Upside Down Underworld Forest."
