"Whatever you need, tell me. I will promptly get it done," Adin said, his expression serious. Now that he knew he was sitting in the presence of the legendary Faceless Assassin, he became respectful.
"Tell me, if I were to break the seal and enter the forest, how long would it take for the one who placed the seal to arrive?"
"In less than a day."
"That fast?"
"Yes. The Supreme High Worlds have a much closer connection to the Immortal Realm. In our case, all Midnight Temples are linked, so coming down is as easy and simple as walking down a ladder."
"I suppose that is convenient. In any case, it would be best to inform him first," Kent said, knowing that breaking through would be more difficult.
A formation set up by an Immortal Lord is not something that even he can break. It would be maybe Tier 31 to 40 Formation, something only a Formation Immortal could create.
It would even make someone like Alina sweat if she dared attempt to break it. The best move is to ask the creator to lift it temporarily. That would even give Kent the chance to reach out to the people he wanted to make aware of his rebirth.
"Then get on that. However, if you don't mind me asking, what do you know about the Crimson Dagger?" His targets are the first Seven Faceless Assassins.
"Aside from knowing he is one of the 7 True Midnight Shadows personally recruited and trained by the Faceless Assassin, the only thing I came to know of him when I became the Star Midnight Shadow is that he is a Shadow Supreme, the strongest of us all."
"Oh, I see." Kent seemed happy to know his first recruit is now a Supreme. Becoming a Supreme in this era is very difficult.
The path to Supremehood isn't as straightforward as it was during the Primordial Era, so only a few can make it.
Unlike godhood, which is relatively easy if all factors are put into perspective, Supremehood is rare, dangerous, and expensive—not talking about Celestialhood. That is even more challenging.
'I just hope there are more Supremes and Celestials than in the Primordial Era. If not, then this era is toast.'
Now that the Void Beasts had made an appearance, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say they had already made an even bigger move somewhere else.
So Kent had already started making plans toward the bigger picture. He would need powerhouses on his side.
"Sounds like the Midnight Shadows have become a powerful organisation in the universe." Kent smiled, making Adin feel a little proud.
Looking at the happy expression on Kent's face, now that he knew he was the one who founded the Midnight Shadows, made him super pleased to be a part of his organisation.
"Has that Immortal Lord who placed the seal become a Faceless Agent yet?" Kent asked, and Adin nodded.
"Yes. Every Galactic Midnight Shadow is a Faceless Agent."
"Even better. Go and reach out to him. I will catch up to you soon."
Adin nodded, but then he stopped himself from leaving, turning back to face Kent with a furrowed brow.
Seeing this, Kent smiled, "If you are wondering whether I know where the Midnight Temple is located, then don't bother. I built that temple"
Hearing this, Adin faked a smile and nodded. Soon, he was gone. Kent just shook his head and let the smile on his face linger for a few moments.
'I must reach out to former friends and allies and start making plans to handle these threats as fast as possible. Aside from the Void Beasts, there are the Space Beasts, the Forsaken Race, and the many others that nearly brought the universe to its knees in the eras that had passed. If they are not handled and the Void Beasts come, we will be in hot soup.'
Kent leaned back in his seat and drank some more tea. Seeing his cup empty, he poured more since his mind was working in overdrive.
The tea seemed to boost one's mental strength, so having more wouldn't hurt.
With the threat of the Void Beast, Kent felt responsible for everyone. Maybe it was because he was the one who led the charge against them during the Primordial Era that made him think he was going to be needed now, too.
From what he had learned over the years in the memories he had recovered so far, whenever something big is about to happen, he would be the one to face it.
So he was preparing ahead of time now, too.
'If not because becoming an immortal would prevent me from using the Star Gateway, I would have ascended and let the ladies and the legion quickly raise their strength.
The faster they become gods, the better.'
Kent took another sip and closed his eyes, allowing himself to relax. Whether he likes it or not, he would have to rise to the occasion when the time comes.
This journey to the Void Forest is going to be the first step to test how prepared he is to become the protector of the universe once again.
'It shall be well. All I need to do is take every problem a step at a time, and hopefully, by the end of this expedition, I will know more about the Void Beasts and their plan this time around.'
After saying that, Kent pulled up the quest again and read through it one more time. The moment he steps into the Void Forest, he will be moving from one danger to another.
'I just have to find the four beasts I must kill and handle them first. Then I can focus on the Void Temple.'
Kent drank the last gulp of the tea and let out a sigh.
'Hopefully, by the time I am done with the Void Temple, Gaia will find the remaining three beasts I need kill so she can use the fangs to create the transportation portal for me.'
He stood up and, using the Soul Map, vanished, appearing 10,000 km away.
After he was done making his plans, he decided to walk around for a bit to waste time and see if he could awaken more memories. By the time he would return to the Midnight Temple, the Immortal Lord would have already arrived.
With Adin handling things, he knew things wouldn't go too rough this time. The last thing he wanted was dealing with yet another unconvinced assassin.
So for the next 20 hours, Kent walked around the city, making sure he visited all the places he remembered he had been to. Some of those places were still there, some vanished into thin air.
However, one place gave him more than he could ask for. It was a rock bench. He didn't remember going there in the past, but he sensed he had sat on the bench many times.
So he did, and that was when a flood of memories flowed into his mind. It was memories of when he left to handle the Forsaken Seer, to when he returned after killing an entire planet of Forsaken beings.
In short, he recovered memories from Root Immortal to Immortal Emperor in less than five minutes.
This brought a smile to his face, so he left for the Midnight Temple again.
However, on the way, he suddenly came to a stop and slowly turned back.
"I know assassins are meant to be in the shadows, but isn't it creepy for two True Immortals to be following a mere mortal?" He chuckled and added, "If you have the balls or titties to face me, why don't you show yourselves?"
