Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss

Chapter 093 | Second Fusion Evolution

"Mind explaining to me how she got a fever?" Inside the only bedroom of her penthouse, Krieger glanced at the black-suited young man and asked.

Damien looked at the slumbering Hecate for a moment before responding. "Evolution. Another side of her bloodline is awakening."

"A hybrid? I didn't expect her to be one. What kind of hybrid is she? Part human and vampire?" The doctor turned the warm towel on Hecate's forehead.

"Demonia and vampire." He replied, not clarifying a single thing about the species he had spoken about. Krieger could only sigh and mumble. "Demonia..."

"An ancient species, probably from the former world of vampires. Is that why she was capable of not drinking blood despite being a vampire?"

Krieger remarked, smiling at the crimson-haired girl. "I thought it took extreme and stubborn willpower. I guess blood is their nourishment."

"Their timeless bodies didn't come from nothing. It needs energy." She added while lounging on the side of the comfortable bed.

"So, what do you plan on doing? If you continue on your plan and bring her along, the fever will worsen. I don't know how much a vampire can endure."

"But if it were a human in her state, they would have long been dead." Her gaze narrowed, staring at the black-suited young man with scrutiny.

Damien was deep in thought, recognizing what the doctor meant. Bringing his partner along was extremely dangerous for her well-being.

He didn't want to test fate and luck, especially when Hecate was the first vampire to have gotten a sickness in centuries. In simpler terms, her current state was unheard of.

"If your conjecture about the evolution is correct, her cells are probably being transformed in their qualitative state. As a result, it produces heat and exhausts energy."

"It is much worse than a fever. Every cell in that body of hers is working overtime, which is the reason for the fever-like symptoms."

"We need to cool it so that it won't overheat. I don't know what might happen if your partner's body couldn't handle the temperature anymore."

The doctor expounded, earning the nod of the black-suited young man. With her words, a decision was made within his mind.

Damien looked at the slumbering crimson-haired girl and patted her head. He turned his head towards Krieger and muttered. "I will be thanking you for your assistance, Doctor Krieger."

"I don't mind. Besides, I don't have anything to do in this penthouse to begin with." Krieger waved her hand as a gesture and smiled.

"You owe me another favor, Damien. I'm looking forward to withdrawing all of it." Her smile transformed into a sly grin as she inspected the Aberrant from head to toe.

"I am a man of my word. I will be waiting to pay my favors." Damien also smiled at the doctor, who chuckled at his words. "Alright, I'm glad that the two of us are on the same page."

"You can go now."

He nodded at her and was about to teleport away. But before he could do so, the doctor added. "While I might be able to treat her symptoms, I wouldn't stop her from trying to catch up."

"That is a problem for you to handle."

"I'm already grateful for your treatment. I'll handle what comes next." Damien gazed upon the beautiful lady and utilized his Raptured Blink.

He teleported out of the penthouse, leaving the doctor to stare at nothing. Krieger sighed and glanced at the crimson-haired girl. "A sick vampire..."

"None of my coworkers would believe the things I had seen." She shook his head and prepared more treatments for the feverish vampire.

It was the least she could do.

Meanwhile...

Damien stood in the far outskirts of New York, gazing in the direction of the headquarters of Block 5, Langley. It was his next destination, as they were part of the SIGIL Intelligence Division.

Information about the current location of the Seventh Paragon's tribunal should be easily accessible to them. Besides, he had some connections to the organization.

There was also the fact that their own intelligence director, the Fifth Paragon, was also trapped in the same circumstance as the Seventh.

"Before that, I have to handle some things that require my attention." He was primarily speaking about the evolution of some of his monsters.

Their evolution bar had grown to its maximum required limit, making them eligible for evolution. But he wasn't interested in merely evolving them. He wanted to fuse some of them.

After all, what he wanted wasn't quantity but quality. The stronger his monster army becomes, the better it would be for him.

It was basic logic.

"And the best monsters that I could fusion evolve are only two." His lips curved into a smile as he thought of the status display within his mind.

In an instant, a bluish digital display materialized before his eyes. He stared at the two monsters he wanted to fuse together for evolution.

These two were none other than the two-star TE Monster: Scorpion Tank and the two-star TE Monster: Wyvern. His most vital monsters besides the three stars.

Fafnir and Makina were the strongest two-star monsters under his command. It made him wonder what kind of creature would emerge if a fusion between the two ever happened.

The thought alone made him somewhat exhilarated.

Not wanting to hesitate and waste time, Damien opened the fusion feature of the Monster Gacha System.

Even though it might be exceedingly expensive, it was worth it to gain another three-star Monster and maybe even acquire a four-star. But it was nothing more than a possibility.

It wasn't the focus of this fusion.

Scorpion Tank and Wyvern have reached their required evolution bar.

Compatibility for fused evolution detected... Does Lord Oberon desire the suggested prospect of evolution?

Notifications flooded his mind, wanting his confirmation for the fusion. It reminded him of the time before he fused the Nemean Lion and the Freedom Eagle to become the Griffin.

This would be the second time he would utilize the fusion evolution of the Monster Gacha System. He hoped that it would have the same results as the first time.

"The cost..." Damien squinted his sable-tinted eyes, noticing the extreme fee of the fusion evolution. It was more expensive than the first fusion evolution, but it was to be expected.

The stronger his summoned monsters become. The more expensive it was, the more it would take for them to become better than ever before.

"Five thousand Terror Points... Over half of my accumulated wealth would be gone after this fusion evolution." Damien muttered to himself and took a deep breath.

If he wanted to increase his chances against the tribunal, it would be better to have more three-star Monsters under his command.

With this thought process in mind, Damien hardened his resolve and readied himself to be bankrupted by the Monster Gacha System.

"Fuse them..."

Affirmative, fusing Two-Star TE Monsters: Scorpion Tank and Wyvern...

5,000 Thousand Terror Points deducted!

Congratulations, fusion was a success!

You have been granted Four-Star TE Monster: Mechanized Draconic God

Langley, Virginia.

Devon stepped out of his jet-black SUV and gazed upon the Intelligence Headquarters of the Block 5. The mission in the northern fringes took longer than expected. But he finally returned.

However... He wasn't as pleased as he had expected to return towards civilization. After all, the Fifth Paragon, the Intelligence Director of SIGIL, was arrested with the Seventh Paragon.

Most Intelligence Operatives were disgruntled. A tense atmosphere permeated throughout the Intelligence Headquarters.

He walked through the hallway filled to the brim with conversing operatives. It didn't take long for him to arrive in the meeting room where the highest officers of the division were gathered.

When he entered the meeting room. Intelligence Officers turned their gaze towards him, realizing that he was the operative tasked in the north.

In simpler terms, every troublesome situation originated from him. After all, it was in the northern fringes that the Shadow Division was discovered.

One of the officers stepped forward with a stern expression. The two of them shook their hands together as the officer spoke.

"Devon, it has been a while since you came to the headquarters."
