Bastard Homunculus: Reborn in the Corpse Pit

Chapter 250: The Multiverse Tournament(Part 20)

"I'll end this in a flash. If you're lucky, you won't die. If not, then...tough luck."

"Mhm, sure, we'll see about that. Who knows, maybe you're strong enough to make me use my blades. If not, then...you'll lose without me needing to so much as lift a finger," Responded Aster, a taunting smirk on his face as the countdown began, while thinking to himself, "Come to think of it, it's been some time since I've used my blades in battle. My Magic's been more than enough, so I haven't needed to use them. Hope I haven't gotten too rusty."

"Cocky bastard...just you wait, I'll wipe that smirk off your face," His opponent growled, electric sparks crackling around his fingers.

He was from Aurora's team, one of her enemies in her world. Naturally, she was rooting for Aster to win...and hoping that he'd end up killing his opponent, though Aster was gunning to knock him out instead.

"I'll have to fight to kill if he isn't all talk and really is strong enough to pose a real threat to me. But if he's all bark and no bite, I'll just knock him out as planned," Aster thought to himself, before getting ready as the countdown neared its end.

The instant the countdown ended, he unleashed a couple of rapid, crackling bolts of lightning towards Aster, before his eyes widened in surprise as his attacks dissipated in front of Aster, as they collided against his Telekinetic Zone.

He frowned before charging up an intense, crackling mass of lightning between his hands, sparks erupting around his hands as he concentrated and intensified the lightning, before firing it at Aster with a roar.

A bright electric flash burst out as the attack struck the Telekinetic Zone, dispersing upon impact.

"Wha...? How? Impossible!" He blurted out in disbelief.

"I mean, no, very possible. You aren't going to hit me with such weak attacks," Laughed Aster, provoking his opponent further.

He let out a furious yell before unleashing a relentless barrage of lightning bolts at Aster, but it was no use, every single one of his attacks dissipating as they got intercepted by Telekinetic Zone before they could reach Aster.

Aster let out a bored sigh to further taunt his opponent, who responded by snarling and firing out his lightning with more intensity.

But he was also getting more sloppy, some of his attacks missing Aster completely and hitting the arena instead.

The barrage finally ceased as he overexerted himself, a trickle of blood running out of his right nostril as he stumbled back slightly, his vision blurring as he let out a slight groan.

"Come on, seriously?! I literally haven't even done anything yet, and you're the only one who's taken damage!" Called out Aster.

"Sh-Shut up...shut the fuck up, you BASTARD!!!" His opponent roared in response, his eyes bulging with rage.

He ran his sleeve across the lower half of his face, wiping the blood off, before a sharp crackle rang out as he began charging up lightning in his right hand, streaks of lightning sparking and crackling around his entire body as an electric glow shone out across the area surrounding him.

"How flashy. But based on how this has gone so far, I bet it's all style and no substance," Smirked Aster, prodding his opponent one last time.

He growled furiously before rushing forward in a seething rage, the lightning charged up in his right hand intensifying sharply as he sprinted towards Aster rapidly.

As he closed in, he lunged forward and drove the lightning towards Aster, his eyes widening as his thrust came to an abrupt halt against the Telekinetic Zone.

He winced in pain as he jarred his wrist upon impact, before tensing as his hand got pulled into the force field, Aster steadily dragging him in.

"D-Damn it, let go!" He yelled, frantically struggling to try and free himself, but to no avail.

"You watched every last one of your attacks fail to breach my defense, and you're still surprised? Well, given the circumstances, you had no choice but to keep fighting since you can't just give up...but still, did you really think attacking more aggressively would be all it'd take to break through?" Inquired Aster with a raised eyebrow, as he pulled his opponent's entire body into his Telekinetic Zone.

"Y-You son of a-...!" He began, before he was abruptly cut off as Aster blocked his nostrils and forced his mouth shut, while simultaneously applying a steadily increasing pressure around his neck.

His opponent's body tensed slightly, unable to struggle or resist under the grasp of the Telekinetic Zone.

"Come on, that's it, kill him...," Muttered Aurora, as she peered over the bleachers, while thinking to herself, "Whatever that power is, it seems pretty formidable. I wonder if I'd be able to breach it? Well, if he makes it far enough in this contest, I suppose I'll get the chance to find out.

While it does suck that I got dragged into this, I suppose I might as well have some fun here, doubt I'll ever get another chance to fight people from other worlds. Yeah, sounds good...I can just kill these assholes after this competition is over and we're back in our world."

Her teammates flinched as she glanced back at them with a glimmer of bloodlust in her eyes, before turning her attention back to the arena, right as Aster's opponent lost consciousness and passed out.

He went limp and hit the floor with a thud as Aster deactivated his Telekinetic Zone, Aurora letting out a quiet, disappointed sigh.

"That brings an end to the third match, the winner is Aster Stark!"

"You were playing around for way too long, you should've just ended it as quickly as possible," Jules greeted him with a sigh of exasperation, as he reappeared by his team.

"Yeah, I suppose I could've brought that fight to an end a lot sooner," He smiled sheepishly.
