Chapter 170: Term-End Grades
This “Promotion” knowledge was by no means as simple as merely advancing from a Third Tier Wizard Apprentice to a full-fledged wizard.
Only hidden pathways, such as the promotion from [Subordinate Law] to [Primary Law], were the core reason why places like Dordogne-White Tower—and indeed all Second Tier wizard gathering locations—attracted so many full-fledged wizards like moths to a flame.
“Knock knock knock—”
Just as Janna was deep in thought, a series of urgent knocks suddenly rang out from outside the dormitory window.
“It’s a Rook Messenger—could it be the reward from the ‘Three-School Joint Examination’?”
Thinking of this possibility, Janna immediately got out of bed and quickly walked to the window, opening it.
“Caw—Apprentice, this is your examination results.”
Looking at the brown envelope handed over by the Rook Messenger, Janna raised an eyebrow, then took the envelope.
“Thank you, Lord Rook.”
“You’re welcome, Apprentice.”
After delivering the letter, the Rook flapped its wings and, with a satchel slung over its side, flew off toward the next window.
“So it’s the term-end examination results.”
Looking at the label on the brown envelope, Janna closed the window, walked over to the lab table, and carefully tore open the envelope along the seal.

Please arrive at the public lecture hall on the fifth floor of the Magic Building at 8:30 AM tomorrow for this year’s White Coral Academy graduation ceremony.
See you there!]
Looking at the excellent 7 A+ grades on the report card, and the graduation ceremony notice scheduled for 8:30 AM tomorrow, Janna suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of ease in her heart.
“Gurgle—”
Perhaps the good mood stimulated her digestive system—Janna suddenly felt a little hungry.
“Guess it’s time to get ready and head to the cafeteria.”
Placing the report card back into the brown envelope, Janna found a conspicuous spot on the bookshelf and placed the envelope on top.
After quickly freshening up, Janna put on her Wizard Robe and left the dormitory.
“Good morning, Miss Janna! You seem to be in a great mood today!”
“Good morning, Door Spirit.”
Indeed in a good mood, Janna greeted the Door Spirit before taking the Mechanical Elevator downstairs.
Ding—the elevator doors slowly opened. As Janna stepped outside the dormitory building, a chilly morning breeze swept across her face with a dry, cold sting.
“It’s actually frosted over.”
Just last night, it had rained in Turin. By today, the puddles on the ground had already formed a thin layer of frost.
Even the leaves on the branches had, unknowingly, begun to yellow and wither, falling into dust.
“Time really flies. In the blink of an eye, it’s already almost December—”
Ha—Janna quietly breathed a puff of warm air into the empty surroundings. Watching the mist quickly dissipate, a long-forgotten memory suddenly surfaced in her heart.
“That world must be entering snow season by now—”
The next morning.
Bright and early, already dressed and ready by 7:30, Janna left the dormitory on time.
Today, because it was graduation ceremony day, Janna didn’t wear her usual Raccoon Cat Robe. Instead, she changed into the standard Wizard Robe issued to every apprentice upon enrollment at White Coral Academy.
“Janna, over here—”
Just as she arrived at the cafeteria entrance, Janna saw Vivian—also wearing the standard academy Wizard Robe—standing with a bright smile, waving at her.
“Why are you here so early again today? Didn’t we agree to meet at 7:45?”
Usually, it was Vivian waiting for Janna most of the time. So today, Janna had made a rare effort to leave early, hoping to switch roles on graduation day and be the one to wait for Vivian instead.
However, seeing Vivian’s cheeks already flushed red from the cold, Janna knew she had once again arrived late.
“I came out at 6:30 today—Janna, don’t you think the temperature feels especially comfortable today? If it were just a little colder, it’d be perfect!”
Hearing Vivian’s words, Janna suddenly recalled that as an apprentice with the [Frost Affinity] talent, Vivian naturally felt more invigorated the colder it got.
Moreover, her face wasn’t red from the cold—it was from excitement.
“I still prefer spring and summer. Of course, I don’t dislike winter either.”
As someone with [Plant Affinity], Janna’s favorite temperature was around 20-25 degrees Celsius.
Of course, due to a certain sentimental attachment—even though her body didn’t adapt well—Janna still had a unique fondness for winter in her heart.
“Why did you come out so early today? It’s not officially winter yet. After a while, when the temperature drops further, it’ll be even better for your training.”
“I’m not out here for training. Do you think everyone’s like you, with nothing but training on their mind?”
“The real reason I came out early today was to stomp on ice.”
“Stomp on ice?”
As she spoke, Janna couldn’t help but glance at the icy puddles around them. Sure enough, each smooth puddle surface showed signs of being forcefully shattered.
“That’s right! Ever since I was a kid, my favorite thing has been stomping on ice! The feeling of breaking freshly frosted ice is the best stress relief!”
Hearing this, Janna sighed silently.
“Dear Miss Vivian, after this winter, you’ll be sixteen—”
“Tch, do you even understand the joys of childhood? Nerds like you only know how to read books and have no clue about my fun!”
Seeing Vivian’s earnest defense of her “fun,” Janna, who was indeed hungry by now, decided not to tease her any further. Instead, she grabbed Vivian’s arm and walked toward the cafeteria entrance.
“When you have time, I’ll invite you to experience my kind of fun too.”
“Your kind of fun?”
Handing over one of the two trays she grabbed, Vivian’s eyes lit up with curiosity at Janna’s unexpected invitation to share her “fun.”
But the moment she recalled Janna’s usually dry and boring lifestyle, Vivian’s initial excitement turned into suspicion.
“Your fun… isn’t just going to the library to read, is it?”
“While you’re not wrong, that’s not my top-ranked fun.”
That piqued Vivian’s interest.
“Then your number one fun is—”
“Eating food I cooked myself.”
