The Smiling Death

Chapter 156: Amon wants to go on a Date

Aria became excited and curious, while Cristina raised her brows in surprise.

Adelia looked at each of the three with an awkward smile. "He does come to meet me. But what's the problem in it? He's just a cute boy. I give him company sometimes. Like a true adult. You know he's an orphan. He may feel lonely sometimes."

Of course, no one bought that excuse.

Aria decided to tease Adelia with crescent eyes.

"Oh my, Amon is really lucky! Being pampered by the most beautiful professor in the academy… and did that boy really become so brave? To have the guts to hit on and flirt with you? Does he not know about your big brother?"

Adelia got flustered. Her cheeks turned a soft shade of pink. "What are you saying, Aria?! Also, he just talks with all girls in the same way. Most people might think he's flirting. But it's his way of talking. It's more like teasing and joking. Nothing else."

Adelia never felt flustered or embarrassed whenever Amon complimented her or tried to flirt. But now that her friends were teasing her, she really felt embarrassed.

"Hmm. Now that I think… Is there any rule saying that it's forbidden to have relationships between students and professors?" Asher wondered with a thoughtful expression.

Professor Cristina responded to him. "I never heard of any rule like this. I mean, rather than having a rule like this, the idea of having a relationship between a professor and a student itself is wrong in society. There's no need for a rule. It's common sense."

"So there's a chance for secret love~ Or should I say forbidden love–" Adelia covered Aria's mouth with her blushing face.

"That's enough! There is nothing like this! Now stop it."

"Hahaha!"

"Hahaha!"

Asher and Cristina burst into laughter seeing Adelia's expression, while Aria laughed with her mouth covered by a burning Adelia.

In that moment, the four of them felt like they were students again.

Then Asher's laughter died down as his eyes turned nostalgic and a little sad.

"It would have been amazing if Noah was with us." Hearing Asher's words, everyone turned silent. Their expressions sad. Bitter.

That name, as if it brought back some old memory that they had buried behind. Something nostalgic, happy but at the same time bitter. Something they wished to forget.

What was it? Who was Noah? Only they knew.

---

Amon pushed open the door of the room assigned to them and instantly froze.

The place was too luxurious.

Soft golden lights, polished wooden floor, a wide balcony overlooking the glimmering sea, and four beds that looked like clouds turned solid.

Marcus whistled beside him.

Arnold raised a brow in silent approval.

The fourth student, a thin boy with short black hair named Lian Crowford, stepped inside behind them, adjusting his glasses awkwardly.

In the resort, each group of four students got a room for themselves.

Amon had already decided to group with Marcus and Arnold. Even when both of them looked annoyed.

They needed one more student. So Amon asked Marcus to go and ask Lian to come with them.

Of course Marcus was questioning why he should do it. But somehow he decided to do it.

It was hilarious to watch how Marcus asked Lian. It looked more like he was ordering him.

After that, saying bye to Eliana and Seraphina, they came here.

Now back in their room, Amon didn't wait for introductions.

The moment he saw the bed nearest to him.

FWUMP!

He leaped straight onto it, bouncing once, twice, then sinking into the unbelievably soft mattress.

"Pfft–HAHAHAHA!" Amon burst into laughter, arms and legs spread out like a starfish.

"Oh my sweet goddess… this… this is heaven!"

Marcus snorted. "Oi, at least take your shoes off before you jump like a madman."

Arnold folded his arms. "Tch! It's just a bed."

Amon peeked at him with a grin. "Hah. I know you want to do it as well. You shy man~"

Arnold clicked his tongue in annoyance and looked away.

Marcus burst into laughter.

Lian hid a smile.

Amon wriggled deeper into the bed.

"I am never leaving this place. I guess I will buy this kind of bed at my house. Marcus, you need to give me money for that."

'Wait! But I don't have a house!... I will buy one after graduating from the academy.'

"You're impossible. Why should I give you money?" Marcus said, shaking his head.

But for the first time since the brutal forest exam…

Amon truly felt relaxed... well, he slept peacefully even in tents. But it's necessary to use this type of line!

He stretched, yawned loudly, and laughed again. Loud, happy, carefree.

"Three days of this… I might just ascend to another realm."

The room filled with the rare sound of his genuine joy.

While the others unpacked, watched, and couldn't help smiling as well.

---

Now Amon, freshened up, was wearing his casual clothes. A plain blue-colored t-shirt and black trousers.

He had left the room early, leaving the other boys behind, walking through the majestic corridor.

His expression thoughtful. 'It's good to spend entertaining time with your friends in such a city. But I have done it with Leon and Martia many times. Now, if only I had a girlfriend I really would have gone on a date with her.'

"This city is so beautiful. Need a girl to go on a date with her." After thinking for a while, his eyes lit up.

A smile formed on his face. "Maybe I can have a date with a beautiful woman... well, whether she accepts or not... it's worth asking her. Hehehe."

Amon giggled alone in the empty corridor.

What really was he thinking?

Now Amon was standing in front of one of the room doors.

"Okay… calm down, Amon," he tried to calm himself.

Knock! Knock!

He knocked on the door.

He heard some footsteps coming to open the door.

Click!

The person who opened the door was none other than Adelia.

All professors had told them their room numbers, in case of some problem or emergency they had.
