The fleet of flying ships cut across the sky, heading toward the mysterious coordinates Garion had pointed out.
Everyone was tense except Garion, who lounged on the front of the ship like he was sunbathing.
On the second ship, Aveline stood beside Raviel, arms crossed, her brows pulled tight.
"Raviel… Why did you agree to this place?" she asked quietly.
"What if he's right? What if there really is an island in that coordinate?"
Raviel rubbed his forehead as if the question already gave him a headache.
"If there's an island, we stay on it," he said simply.
Aveline blinked. "Just like that? No scouting?"
"We'll scout," he muttered. "But you know what I mean."
Aveline's lips pressed together. "But that place is near Demon Gate Island."
Raviel looked at her, tired but calm.
"Yes. It's near, not on. There's a big difference."
Aveline leaned closer. "Raviel, you know how dangerous that entire region is. The gate alone..."
Raviel raised a hand, stopping her.
"I know."
He exhaled deeply, shoulders sinking for a moment.
"But think about it, Aveline… Staying near Garion might be the safest choice we ever make."
Aveline blinked at him.
Raviel continued, voice low.
"You saw how he fights. You saw how he destroyed Agram. You saw how he handled Kalzor. And Rakir…"
He shook his head slowly. "Even with my strength, I couldn't do what he did."
Aveline nodded reluctantly. "True… he's something else."
Raviel snorted. "Calling him 'something else' is too gentle. He's a walking disaster."
Aveline let out a small laugh. "You're not wrong."
The wind blew through the deck, and both of them looked toward the front of the ship, where Garion stood with the twins, explaining something while flexing for no reason.
Aveline sighed. "But still… did he even know about Demon Gate Island before arriving there?"
Raviel shook his head. "I don't think so. He never mentioned it. He acted like it was just another random place."
Aveline frowned deeper. "Then how did he survive? The mana storms alone..."
"That's Garion," Raviel said flatly. "He probably walked through a mana storm like it was morning exercise."
Aveline nodded slowly, then looked back at the sky ahead. "So… you trust him completely?"
Raviel's jaw tightened. He didn't answer immediately.
Finally, he nodded. "Yes. I trust him. He saved my clan. He saved me. He saved you. And… he doesn't lie. If he says there's an island, then there's an island."
Aveline lifted an eyebrow. "And if there isn't?"
Raviel shrugged. "Then we fly somewhere else."
She sighed again but didn't push. "Then what about the Demon Gate itself? Should we tell him?"
Raviel went silent.
After a moment, he rubbed his neck.
"...Not now."
Aveline blinked. "Why not?"
"Because if Garion learns there's a giant demon-infested gate near his house…"
Raviel swallowed hard. "...he'll definitely go check it out."
Aveline's expression froze.
Raviel nodded grimly. "Exactly."
She stared at him for a long moment, then nodded. "Alright. We tell him after we settle down. When everything's stable."
"Exactly."
They both turned forward again, watching the clouds.
Aveline whispered, "Let's hope this island of his isn't some hallucination."
Raviel muttered, "If it is, we're blaming him."
And the ships continued toward the unknown location, following a map only Garion could see.
---
The fleet of flying ships slowed as they reached the coordinates. Clouds parted… and an island rose from the mist.
Aveline's eyes widened. Raviel leaned forward so hard he almost fell off the railing.
"…What the hell," Raviel muttered. "There REALLY is an island."
Aveline blinked rapidly. "But... this map showed nothing here. Nothing!"
Garion stood at the front of the lead ship with a huge grin, hands on his hips.
"Of course there's an island," he said proudly, as if he personally placed it there last night. "Did you think I was lying?"
Raviel rubbed his face. "Garion… this island wasn't here before."
Garion shrugged. "Now it is."
Aveline frowned. "That does NOT help."
Garion simply laughed.
They circled the island once. It wasn't massive but not small either.
Just enough space for two clans and lots of breathing room.
The climate was calm, the land fertile, and rivers flowing gently across the terrain.
Raviel exhaled. "Damn… it actually looks perfect."
Aveline nodded slowly. "Yeah… the mana density feels stable too."
Garion stretched his arms. "See? Told you. Now, let's check the place properly."
Raviel signaled the ships to descend.
The fleet landed on a wide clearing near a river, and just as the ramps went down...
GRAAAAH!
A chorus of roars erupted from the treeline.
Aveline's eyes sharpened. "Beasts incoming!"
Dozens of creatures emerged.
There were scaled wolves, horned boars, razor-feather birds and all of them had the strength of second realm.
Raviel clicked his tongue. "A welcoming party."
Garion smirked. "More like… greeting presents."
Aveline raised her hand sharply. "Everyone, prepare to fight!"
Raviel already summoned his weapon.
Flames and lightning twisted together, forming his [Flaming Storm Greatsword].
He stepped forward, swinging his greatsword. "Alright, beasts! Come test your luck!"
Elders rushed out behind him.
Flame spells ignited.
Thunder arrows crackled.
Nature vines shot from the ground.
Aveline's voice rang out again. "Don't let any of them get close to the ships!"
The first scaled wolf leaped forward, and Raviel split it clean in half, his sword bursting with fire and thunder.
Two horned boars charged from the side.
"Leave it to us!" one elder shouted.
He and another elder slammed their palms down, releasing [Flame Pillars] that roasted the beasts instantly.
Aveline raised her arm and sent out razor-sharp vines with [Binding Thorns], entangling three birds mid-air before crushing them like dried leaves.
Garion watched from behind with an amused grin.
"Not bad," he muttered. "Look at them go."
More beasts poured out, but none could stand against the combined onslaught.
Within minutes the clearing was quiet again, smoke rising from fallen bodies.
Raviel rolled his shoulder and wiped sweat off his brow.
"Well," he said, panting lightly, "looks like the island's first test is done."
Garion clapped twice, smiling wide.
"Great warm-up. Now that the welcome party's gone..."
He pointed ahead.
"Let's explore the island and find the perfect spots for your new clans."
Raviel and Aveline exchanged a long look.
Then, with matching nods, they followed Garion deeper into their new home.
