10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System

Chapter 127: Candidates For Games

Aegon liked Xavier and knew he wasn't in the wrong. Sure, he was impulsive, but this side of him only came out when he wanted to help others. If only he wasn't the Crown Prince, this wouldn't have been an issue at all.

Even Cali understood this, but just because she understood didn't mean she would go along with it blindly.

"With me and Luna by his side, he can be a good King," Cali said stubbornly. "We'll protect him and cover for him."

"What is he? A baby?" Aegon retorted. "Try to understand the situation, Cali. What if this was all a trap, huh? What if they somehow forced him into signing that contract by taking that newbie as hostage? You and I both know what he would have done in that situation."

Cali turned silent instantly.

Aegon turned toward Xavier and forced him to look up. "Listen carefully. If you make mistakes, you'll always find me there to back you up. But I'll also beat the shit out of you afterward."

He took a deep breath and said, "Don't change who you are, but be aware of your responsibility. Think before you do anything reckless like this again. Understand?"

Xavier remained silent, staring into Aegon's golden eyes with conflicting emotions swirling violently in his own. Then, he clenched his fist and punched his own chest, saying, "I swear on our friendship that I'll become the King my Kingdom needs."

"That's my good brother," Cali smiled and hugged him tightly. "Remember, we are always here for you."

Xavier sniffed away the moisture gathering in his eyes and said, "I've been a kid for way too long, sis. Now I'll protect you two."

"Hehe, my brother has all grown up," Cali chuckled. "Father would be so proud."

"If I knew all it would take to get him straight was a beating, I would have broken his legs sooner," Aegon said, smiling mischievously.

"Fuck off!"

"Haha!"

Aegon ran his hand through his hair and said, a cold smile forming on his face, "Now then, shall we plan our hunt?"

...

Before long, Aegon's group gathered in his dorm room, where he had already installed many Rune Formations for his privacy. His group remained the same, with the addition of Luna.

"Did you two have a talk already?" Xavier asked, staring at the twins smiling at each other warmly.

"That's the first thing I did," Cali said. "I already kept her waiting for so long. That noble girl also motivated me, so I talked to her before I lost my courage again."

"I still can't believe we drifted apart over such silly reasons," Luna giggled, elegant and angelic as always.

"I'm still in the dark," Xavier grumbled to himself.

"Then stay in the dark," Aegon said, as he served them some cookies. "We gathered to discuss something important, not satisfy your curiosity."

Turning toward the twins, he smiled. "I'm glad you two worked it out. Cali really likes to overthink too much."

"I was also at fault. Had I properly conveyed that she mattered more than my reputation or anything in this world, this wouldn't have happened," Luna said, sighing sadly.

Aegon didn't say anything since it was their matter. It spiralled out of control due to a lack of communication, and it happened because Cali loved her sister too much.

"Our matter aside, what happened?" Luna asked.

Aegon then had to explain the whole situation to her, and safe to say, her reaction wasn't much different from Cali's, except Luna's fury was silent, cold, and deadly.

But unlike either of them, her first thought was asking about Xavier's well-being, which made them a little embarrassed, but they kept straight faces.

"First, we need to settle the compensation," Luna said, calming herself down. "I'll check my Merit Score..."

"No need. I'll handle it," Aegon waved his hand casually. "Just tell me, can you participate in the Supremacy Games with us?"

Luna hesitated, then sighed deeply. "I can't betray my House after all this time. They treated me so well, but I'll definitely help in other ways."

It was clear she wanted to join them, but it was difficult after everything her House had done for her. Unlike Xavier's, her House was genuinely good.

"It's fine." Xavier smiled gently. "We'll figure out something."

"Still, is your plan to beat them in the Supremacy Games?" Cali asked, immediately guessing his intentions.

"Yup. It creates the perfect stage where we can legally beat them in front of everyone," Aegon nodded. "Also, since we're making them our enemies anyway, find out everyone who pulls stunts like this."

He rubbed his chin. "I have a few other things I'll check out myself. It's a secret for now."

"How are we getting a team?" Xavier asked. "We're just three people, though certainly not on the weaker end."

"Yes, although Gon's ranks are lower than other people, his versatility and wide knowledge make up for it," Luna nodded. "The real problem is finding the other two candidates. Want my help?"

"We need five, huh," Aegon muttered, before glancing at Cali and Xavier. "She'll be the fighter and play top lane. He'll be support. I'll play mid lane."

"We need an assassin and a main damage dealer, probably a Marksman," Luna said. "I can check for a Marksman for you guys."

Listening to her, Aegon couldn't help but feel strange. The Supremacy Games were nothing but a cheapened version of MOBA games he used to play on Earth, just in full realistic combat.

So many things in this world were suspiciously similar to Earth's culture, like even the Sun God's name was Apollo. There were other influences mixed in too.

If Aegon had to describe this world, it was basically a mix of Earth. If he had to use novel terms, the world-building was a mess where the author threw in everything they knew randomly.

Just like the Supremacy Games. It made absolutely no sense why MOBA-style battles would exist here, but here they were, played by the Academy for decades.

How did they come to possess it?

They found it inside the God's Hand itself. The Supremacy Games were held in a special location, carved with Ancient Rune Formations that served as the foundation.

That's why these Games were special.

No one had been able to replicate the Supremacy Games, simply because the Ancient Rune Formations were too complex for anyone to even understand, let alone recreate or use them.

"What are you daydreaming about, Gon?" Xavier shook his shoulder, bringing him out of his thoughts.

'Ah! Yes, I forgot I was discussing. How do those main characters monologue for so long without looking weird?'

"Little Gon?"

Aegon cleared his throat and said, "It's nothing. I already have an Assassin, so the only position left is Marksman."
