After leaving, the quads followed Sister Rabbit to the Rainbow World. This was a colorful world, a favorite among children.
"The Rainbow World was designed for children aged one to twelve," Sister Rabbit explained. "It uses a series of lively, interactive, and technological activities to help children perceive the outside world, observe natural phenomena, and participate in scientific practices."
The children began cheering the moment they stepped inside.
The sight of a mirror maze made the children's jaws drop in amazement.
Sister Rabbit reminded the parents, "If the children want to play in the mirror maze, it's best if a parent accompanies them!"
The children scrambled to pull their parents along, eager to experience the mirror maze.
Sister Rabbit led the way. "Everyone, follow me."
Once inside the mirror maze, the children curiously made faces at their reflections. Infected by their children's enthusiasm, the parents also took a look at their own reflections.
"Ugh, my makeup is smudged. I'll have to touch it up later."
"Is my bag open? Luckily, I haven't lost anything."
"The hairstyle I got just yesterday is already a mess..."
"Didn't they say this foundation was long-lasting? Why has it gone so dull and cakey already?"
"What's this on my clothes? A drink?"
Guided by Sister Rabbit, the group successfully navigated the maze.
Mr. Li asked everyone, "Did you have fun?"
The children shouted loudly, "It was fun! Super fun!"
Further on, there was an exhibit on seeing the world through the eyes of animals.
Sister Rabbit said, "Our world is full of vibrant colors, so let's take a look at how other creatures see it."
There were viewers for all kinds of animals here.
Sanbao found a dog-shaped viewer and stuck her head inside. Seeing the world from a dog's perspective, she made several surprising discoveries. "Dad, Mom, come quick!"
Nearby, Erbao was looking at the world from a cat's perspective and also began calling for his parents. Dabao and Sibao were no different, anxious to share what they were seeing.
Lin Feng responded to the children, "You look first. Dad will look after you're done."
With so many animal viewers around, the children were as busy as little bees, flitting from one to the next.
Lin Feng noticed the dog-shaped viewer was free and went over to take a look.
Sister Rabbit smiled and explained, "Dogs can't distinguish between red and orange, but they can clearly see blue and violet, as well as ultraviolet light. Furthermore, they can differentiate between forty shades of gray."
"Birds are able to see ultraviolet light, so the peacocks' plumage that they see is far richer and more colorful than what we perceive."
"Cats don't distinguish between red and green hues. The world in their eyes is composed of brownish-yellow and blue tones."
"A cat's field of vision is also wider than ours, so they can see more. Their ability to adapt to the dark is six times greater than our own."
The children only looked for a short while before the Rainbow House caught their attention. It was filled with colorful toys, and the little ones went pattering over. Once they made room, the parents got their chance to look.
"Whoa, I'm getting dizzy just looking at this..."
"This color is nice..."
"The human world really is the most colorful!"
After playing in the Rainbow House for a while, the children grew bored and ran off to play with other things. There was an exhibit with a large drum that generated wind when struck. The harder you hit it, the stronger the wind. The children smacked the drum surface with all their might, making the decorations on the panel opposite them flutter and move.
They were having a blast, but some of the parents were starting to feel the strain.
"Keeping up with kids is really exhausting!"
"Tell me about it. Where do they get all this energy?"
"Poor me, I can't believe I wore high heels today. My feet are killing me!"
"I had the foresight to wear sneakers..."
While the children played, the parents started chatting amongst themselves.
To be honest, Zhang Yuxi was also getting a bit tired. When adults went shopping, they could at least sit down for a rest, have a cup of tea, and chat.
Take a break while looking after the kids? Dream on! They never seem to get tired when they're playing; they just have an absolute blast! The moment you sit down, thinking you can finally rest, they jump up and dash off to play somewhere else. As a parent, you have to guarantee your child's safety, which means tracking them like a radar locked on a target.
With nowhere to sit and rest, Zhang Yuxi could only lean on Lin Feng, borrowing his strength to rest for a moment. But not even ten seconds passed before the children were ready to move on again.
Sister Rabbit announced, "Alright, next up is the Robot Hall. How does that sound?"
The children all cheered in agreement.
Lin Feng took Zhang Yuxi's hand. "Tired?"
Zhang Yuxi nodded. "I'm okay."
There were so many robots here. There were robots drawing with both hands, playing chess, solving Rubik's Cubes, shooting arrows, and playing soccer. The parents trailed behind their children, their initial enthusiasm almost completely drained.
Lin Feng held Zhang Yuxi's hand as he watched the kids. Thanks to the Purification and Marrow Cleansing, he didn't feel the least bit tired. The children, meanwhile, were still playing with boundless energy.
The parents, however, were truly exhausted.
"I don't know how they're not tired..."
"We were the same when we were little. We could play forever and never get tired."
"There are still so many places to see, but I just want to leave now."
"Me too. I just want to lie down and sleep."
The boys especially loved the robots and didn't want to leave even after trying everything.
Sister Rabbit asked the children, "There's a spider exhibit. Do you want to go?"
Some of the children wanted to go, while others didn't.
"Okay, the children who want to go can follow Sister Rabbit! The parents of those who aren't going can take their kids to buy some snacks and sit in the rest area over there."
Hearing this, the parents were instantly re-energized. They hurriedly led their children away. "Let's go, Mommy will buy you some snacks, and I can take a little break."
Sanbao didn't want to go, which gave Zhang Yuxi the perfect opportunity to take her daughter to recharge and get some proper rest.
There was a supermarket here with lots of children's snacks. Since it was summer vacation, many parents had brought their kids to the science museum, and there was a line just to buy something.
One of the parents took the initiative. "You all sit tight, I'll go buy things for you. What do you want?"
That parent took down their orders and went to get in line. Zhang Yuxi recognized her; she was a warm and helpful person. She was a full-time housewife whose husband was the CEO of a top 500 company, and she herself came from a well-off and high-class family.
She had a little boy everyone called Xiaorui. Xiaorui was adorable and handsome. He had shared a desk with Sanbao for a while, and they had become good friends. He was one of Sanbao's best friends. But now they had different seats and had both made new friends, so they rarely spoke.
Xiaorui came over, his eyes sparkling as he looked at Sanbao. "Your bun is coming loose."
Sanbao touched her hair, and Zhang Yuxi took a look. The little bun on her head was indeed loose and looked like it was about to fall out.
Zhang Yuxi smiled. "Thank you for the reminder!"
She carefully retied Sanbao's bun and secured it with a small clip. The children sat in their chairs, swinging their little legs and chatting with each other.
Just then, Xiaorui's mother returned with the food.
Sanbao was a bit tired and leaned lazily against Zhang Yuxi.
Zhang Yuxi asked her, "Tired?"
Sanbao nodded and hummed softly.
Xiaorui, holding his little loaf of bread, came over and asked Sanbao, "Would you like some of this?"
Sanbao shook her head and said politely, "No, thank you. You can have it!"
Xiaorui looked a little disappointed and mumbled, "Oh."
Sanbao was a kind child, so seeing Xiaorui's crestfallen expression, she added, "Well, maybe just a little bite."
Xiaorui beamed again. "Great!" He broke off a piece for her. "This is really tasty."
Xiaorui's mother said, "My son talks about your daughter all the time."
Zhang Yuxi was a little surprised. "Really?"
"Xiaorui has always wanted a little sister, but we don't have plans to have another child right now," his mother explained. "He says his ideal little sister would be just like Sanbao, which is why he likes her so much. He keeps pestering me to hurry up and have a little sister just like her."
Zhang Yuxi laughed. "Xiaorui is a very thoughtful boy!"
Xiaorui's mother smiled. "Yes, he's very sensible. He saves us a lot of trouble."
Lin Feng was usually the one to pick up the children from school; Zhang Yuxi only went along with him occasionally. She wasn't very familiar with Xiaorui's mother. This was actually their first real conversation. Usually, they just exchanged nods in passing.
