Cold Centipede was trapped by Yu Ding and Dragon Sparrow Ring, her Primordial Spirit was tied down. Despite gradually breaking free, she had exhausted all her means. When the Cave Spirit Zither started to play, it was the final straw that broke the camel's back. Her Spirit uncontrollably danced to the music, her body suddenly elongating straight and then bending back, head to tail meeting.
Ding-dong incessantly rang, another tune of "Joy" played. The music was lively and the rhythm fast. Cold Centipede's body kept changing uncontrollably. Amidst her continual screams, she suddenly "pop" turned into a green mist and then reformed. No longer in the shape of a green-dressed beauty, she now appeared as a shell-less snail with six heads, nine bodies, and forty-eight feet.
By this point, the Great Demon of Outer Heaven Divine Mountain, Myriad Cold Centipede, had no room left to struggle. Seized by the Dragon Sparrow Ring, she plunged like a falling meteor, trailing a green light tail, directly into the endless darkness of Yu Ding.
After subduing Cold Centipede and restoring the Ding Cover, Xiong Man took a long breath and flew up cradling Yu Ding. "Master."
"Hmm, you've done well. You don't need to handle the next part, take a good rest," Shi Feiyang took Yu Ding and flew off Jade Peak.
At this moment, Deng Bagu, Jin Xunu, and Yuan Hua were in the sky, duelling another demon. The battle was fierce: the sky cracked, and a thousand thunders exploded simultaneously!
It turned out that beneath the lake in front of the palace where Cold Centipede resided, was a cavern inhabited by a demon dragon who had lived for over nine thousand years, soon reaching its ten-thousand-year calamity. This creature was named Yuan Turtle, another Primordial Species—a lineage of the Poison Dragon. It was dragon-shaped, over a hundred zhang long, more than a zhang thick, covered in red triangular scales. Its front body had a pair of fleshy wings and four dragon claws, while closer to its tail, it grew two rows of beastly feet thick around a foot and three to four feet long. The dragon tail was fan-shaped, roughly three to four zhang in diameter, covered in backward spines.
This creature's Technique Divine Power was originally comparable to Cold Centipede's, and their attributes were the Yin-Yang counterbalance. However, as it lived deep underground and loved to sleep, Cold Centipede gained the upper hand by sealing the exit using spells. Occasionally when Yuan Turtle got angry and tried to escape, Cold Centipede blocked it inside the cavern. Later, as Cold Centipede devoured several Great Demons and human Cultivators increasing her Mana, Yuan Turtle found itself increasingly inferior and never saw the light of day again.
Shi Feiyang planned to establish a Dao field here; naturally, he could not leave such a Great Demon in deep slumber. He had already set a task for Lin Han and Shi Sheng to use the Earth Escape Technique to awaken Yuan Turtle.
Roused from a deep slumber, Yuan Turtle saw two fresh and tender human younglings and decided to eat them. Shi Sheng declared that he came on his master's orders, offering Yuan Turtle two choices: either convert and learn the Immortal Law to overcome his calamity and ensure preservation during his ten-thousand-year tribulation, or leave peacefully, escorted out with honors. Shi Feiyang could also direct him to a better feng shui site for hidden cultivation.
Yuan Turtle, unwilling to listen to what "food" had to say, opened its mouth to inhale and suck both youngsters into its belly. Shi Sheng, prepared, had released the Detachment Bell, transforming it into a cloud of Five-colored Radiant Light that enveloped him and Lin Han, protecting them from being swallowed. In its fury, Yuan Turtle belched out a burst of purple-black Dan Qi.
Forewarned by Shi Feiyang, Shi Sheng knew even the Detachment Bell could not withstand Yuan Turtle's Dan Qi head-on. Seeing the purple-black Dan Qi surge forth, he quickly activated the Two Realms Token.
The Two Realms Token and the Detachment Bell, along with the Taibai Split Light Sword, were Magical Treasures crafted by Jile Perfected Li Jingxu at Jiuhua Mountain while refining bodies for children from the Five Elements Essence. The Detachment Bell could protect their bodies, but the Two Realms Token was particularly adept at breaking free from traps. Once activated, it instantly formed a light envelope around Shi Sheng and Lin Han, and "whizz" they rapidly flew out of the cavern entrance.
Yuan Turtle snorted out a few strands of purple sparks from its nostrils, changed its position, and still intended to sleep.
Lin Han and Shi Sheng didn't fly far. Seeing he didn't follow, they returned and asked Yuan Turtle, "Out of the two paths to life my master has presented, which one do you choose? Tell us quickly, so we can report back."
Yuan Turtle, feeling that these two youngsters posed no real threat and though they looked juicy and tender, their size was too small to even be a mouthful, which wasn't much fun, didn't even bother to open its eyes. It just turned its ears towards them, listened for a bit, and then irritably snorted out two purple sparks from its nostril without moving.
Shi Sheng added, "Both paths are viable and good. My master handpicked them for you, you must pick one."
Lin Han, unwilling to waste more words, directly released his Flying Sword; the White Light Sword flew towards Yuan Turtle, prompting Shi Sheng to quickly release his own Taibai Split Light Sword.
Feeling the attack of the Flying Swords, Yuan Turtle was enraged, spewing out another burst of Dan Qi.
Lin Han and Shi Sheng were far outmatched in Mana. As their sword light met the Dan Qi, it was like two sticks up against a head-on flood. Fortunately, they had refined their skills through the Mysterious Sect's True Skill, so they remained uncontaminated. Shi Sheng activated the Two Realms Token once again, swiftly departing with Lin Han.
This thoroughly roused Yuan Turtle; baffled, it pondered how these two human younglings managed to enter since Cold Centipede had sealed the power outside. Could they be messengers from Cold Centipede? It didn't seem like that contemptible creature's style, or perhaps Cold Centipede was not outside at the moment? With this thought, it felt a surge of opportunity—if Cold Centipede was truly not above, it had a chance to break free!
Yuan Turtle shot up through the passage. Although the prohibitions were still in place, without anyone maintaining them, it forcefully broke through using its Dan Qi.
After breaking through more than twenty prohibitions, he finally made it outside, drinking the clear lake water and breathing the fresh air. Instantly, Yu Diao felt extremely ambitious, ready to engage in a great battle with the Cold Centipede.
By then, Jin Xunu, Yuan Hua, and Deng Bagu were already waiting in the sky above, informing Yu Diao that the Cold Centipede had been eliminated by them and were still offering the same two choices as before.
Yu Diao roared and spewed twelve streams of purple-black Dan Qi, each as thick as several feet and hundreds of feet long, soaring into the sky. He chose the third option—to conquer this place and become the Demon King after the Cold Centipede!
Knowing that he wouldn't surrender easily, Deng Bagu and the others, following Shi Feiyang's preliminary plan, each released their Magical Treasures and started besieging the Demon Dragon.
Deng Bagu, Yuan Hua, Lin Han, and Shi Sheng, with their four Immortal Swords, along with Jin Xunu's Sun-locking Hook, Boluodao, and Death Mace, formed seven long rainbows attacking around Yu Diao while the Taiyin Qingning Fan, Three Talents Clearing Circle, All-encompassing Xuan Guang Ruler, Dragon and Tiger Ruyi Hook, Snow Soul Pearl, among other Magical Treasures, shone brightly and overwhelmed the skies.
Yu Diao wielded the twelve streams of Dan Qi to strike in every direction. After engaging in battle, it took only the time it takes to drink a cup of tea before his ambitious spirit was completely crushed, barely sustaining himself with his robust Mana.
He couldn't divide himself into nine like the Cold Centipede, nor did he have a huge body to protect his Primordial Spirit, so Deng Bagu and the others couldn't defeat him just yet.
After a standoff for a moment, Yu Diao couldn't hold on anymore and dived downward with bared teeth and claws.
Beforehand, the people had received instructions from Shi Feiyang—if Yu Diao attempted to flee elsewhere, they shouldn't intervene, letting him leave. But if he tried to charge back down to the cave, they had to try to block him and prevent him from damaging the Immortal Palace's architecture.
As soon as Yu Diao dived downwards, everyone immediately cast spells to stop him. Moreover, divine fish along with Red Snake, Xuan Turtle, and three Green Flood Dragons emerged from beneath the lake, collectively launching the Taiyin Earth Net.
The net, established by Yu the Great to prevent the demon fish from escaping underground, instantly expanded to more than a hundred miles when unfurled. Yu Diao collided with the net, tried desperately to tear it apart, pulling at it with his dragon claws to no avail, as various attacks hit him from behind, he hastily used his Dan Qi to block them, but still sustained several injuries, with blood spraying like rain.
Just as Yu Diao was about to be entirely eradicated, body and spirit, the sound of a zither suddenly echoed, shaking his Primordial Spirit and causing a chilling fear to race through him.
Shi Feiyang descended from the sky holding the Yu Ding, raising the Ding whose cover flew off and two beams of red light pinned down Yu Diao's Primordial Spirit on the Taiyin Earth Net. In desperation, he struggled and roared, but as the continuous zither sounds shook his Primordial Spirit, it became disoriented and his Essence Energy scattered, leaving him incapable of resisting the Yu Ding any longer. He got engulfed in a Five-Colored Radiant Light which forcefully wrapped around his body, shrinking him continuously and drawing him back into the endless darkness inside the Ding!
In Bright Realm, only Cold Centipede and Yu Diao were the Demon Kings of ten thousand years to be concerned about. Seeing such a heaven-shaking and earth-shattering duel, no being, human or demon, dared to make a move. After the Cold Centipede's physical body was destroyed and his Primordial Spirit captured, the prohibitions on their Primordial Spirits were naturally dispelled, leading to a mass dispersal where they all vanished without a trace.
Shi Feiyang, along with his Disciples, landed on the White Jade Platform, with Deng Bagu being the first to congratulate him, "Congratulations, Master, on vanquishing the demons and securing this heavenly palace treasure."
Shi Feiyang smiled and nodded. Ever since he had been transformed into the Black Dragon, he had been constantly harassed and hunted from place to place. Now, he finally had a substantial base of his own in the Shushan World and had collected many rare and exotic treasures, recruiting many disciples and subordinates, finally being able to settle down and breathe a little easier.
Originally, this was a celestial palace from the heavens, naturally grand and magnificent, but its descent to the human world had been fraught with difficulties. Subsequent to the burning of the True Qi geomagnetic forces clashing and merging, numerous earthquakes occurred. Although the Immortal Palace's extraordinary quality prevented any collapse or damage, the terrain changed and the geomagnetic veins twisted, but the central area of thousands of miles of basin formed by the collapse of the earth, occupied by the Cold Centipede for nearly ten thousand years, became filthy and needed extensive restoration.
Shi Feiyang first carefully observed the mountainous terrain and water geomagnetic poles, spending many days analyzing with his Disciples before finally devising a construction plan.
The first step was to elevate the basin. Originally a massive mountain range, it had subsided and spoiled the geomagnetic spirit, with outsiders trampling over it, which wasn't good for Feng Shui.
But elevating a basin spanning thousands of miles was an arduous task—equivalent to almost three Sichuan basins on Earth!
The volume of work was enormous.
First, there was nowhere to find so much earth and stone—they couldn't possibly take all the seventy thousand peaks and ridges of Bright Realm to fill this area, not to mention that even if they did, it wouldn't be enough.
Secondly, Shi Feiyang calculated that even if he managed to dredge up enough sand and soil from the nearby ocean and transport it here, requiring him and his Disciples to abandon Cultivation and focus solely on dredging and filling daily, it would still take decades to complete.
Moreover, extracting so much sand would be risky due to the limited capacity of Outer Heaven Divine Mountain; any careless digging might pierce the earth pores below, releasing the Chaos Core and Qianyuan True Fire, which could spell disaster—it would boil the sea, exterminate all marine life, and even possibly cause the whole Outer Heaven Divine Mountain to collapse and explode, turning into Tribulation Ash!
