Shi Feiyang, after meticulously surveying and mapping the geomancy, finally found a method to fill the basin.
Despite being called "Outer Heaven", if measured from the sea level outside, it was only over ten thousand zhang from the ground. While not all mountains in Shu Mountain exceeded this height, there were quite a few well-known ones, such as Tianpeng Mountain in the East Sea, Heiga Mountain in the North Sea, and Big Charm Mountain in the West Sea, which almost reached the Spiritual Space Immortal Realm.
On Tianpeng Mountain, the Immortal Mansion often had Golden Immortals bring Heavenly Immortals down to have tea and chat with Master Chi Zhang and his disciples. The highest summit of Heiga Mountain, known as Luo Shen Ridge, was where the owner, Ji Nan, hosted Heavenly Immortals visiting from the Lower Realm. His greatest Mountain Treasure was called the Luo Shen Fang.
Measured from the ground, the Outer Heaven Divine Mountain was not as tall as those, but due to the Circulation converging at the north and south poles, measured from Outer Heaven downward, the entire landscape was amidst space, even higher than the others because the magnetic atmosphere was compressed beneath the mountain.
For this reason, while gazing up at the void here, one often saw numerous meteors.
Outer Heaven Divine Mountain had eternally long days, no nights, and the sun forever in the sky. Sometimes, due to magnetic light refraction, multiple suns would appear, and every 360 years, a spectacle of ten suns forming a circle would emerge in the sky, marking the hottest temperatures.
In such celestial light, numerous meteors streaked across the space frequently.
The meteors varied in shape and color; some were round, square, oval, angular, and some trailed long tails, with red and white being the most common, but also blue, purple, yellow, and black—endless varieties. Some flew alone, some with a main star circled by several satellites, and others with two or more main stars intertwined.
Visible under the bright sunshine, these were extremely distant and massive stars; not only could they not be made to fall, but if they truly did descend to earth, they would likely surpass the size of the entire Shushan World.
Shi Feiyang was interested in the invisible star debris—his Dragon Eyes could see them clearly. They were mostly fragments dispersed from star explosions or collisions, drifting through the cosmos for countless eons.
In the Shushan World, the Mountain Treasure that Ji Nan used for his tribulation, the Qingyang Pillar, was forged from a pre-ancient, undestroyed large meteor floating above the Nine Heavens. Elder Cangxu had also exploited the opportunity when the celestial meteors passed, their residual heat still lingering and Taiyin Magnetic Essence yet to disperse, capturing it and refining Taiyin Star Sand in the Pill Furnace.
Space contained abundant resources. Not to mention Outer Heaven Divine Mountain, even the entire stretch of mountains and seas of Shushan seemed insignificant in the vast cosmos. Shi Feiyang aimed to fill the basin with celestial meteors, which were more than enough in quantity.
However, these celestial star debris also varied in color and properties. Shi Feiyang intended to use them as a foundation for his Dao grounds and to reconnect the Earth Axis; he wasn't engaging in trash backfilling, so he could not just take anything.
He led his disciples to set up a Dharma Platform on the highest summit of Jade Peak. Those who understood the Dao naturally followed it, utilizing favorable circumstances effectively. For Shi Feiyang to gather star debris, he couldn't rely solely on his mana, which was too labor-intensive and inefficient. He deployed an Array in the Jade Pavilion, drawing Taiyin Magnetic Essence from the Earth Axis to capture star debris upwards.
The star debris varied—some were formed from Nine Heavens Ice, shining bright blue with long tails when flying; some were made of Nine Heavens Divine Iron, continuously sparkling flames across the horizon; some were Star Soil, flying while shedding particles and trailing a string of Mars; some were fragments of Void Divine Wood, the rarest type resembling a torch; and some were orbs of Void True Fire, elongated flames pulled by Heavenly Essence, burning intensely as they flew... Additionally, there were those containing thunder, enshrouded in darkness, or covered in a white aura—strangely varied and abundant.
Primarily, Shi Feiyang collected those containing the essence of the Five Elements. Upon spotting them, he would cast, sending the Taiyin Magnetic Essence upward, extending directly into the Nine Heavens to capture them, then continuously waving the Taiyin Qingning Fan producing red light to envelop them. Within the red light, fierce Sanmei Divine Wind cut off their continued flight, forcibly pulling them down.
These fragments, hidden in the sunlight, were visible only to Jin Xunu among the disciples, who possessed Fire Eyes. From the eye, some were as small as beans, some as large as teacups, with the largest no bigger than a wheel. However, as they approached, they continuously grew larger, with some initially the size of a rice grain expanding to surpass a mountain peak in size.
Shi Feiyang struck the Cave Spirit Zither, directly entering the "Earth Sound" state, spontaneously generating wind, rain, thunder, and lightning to rapidly grind the meteors on their descent, crushing them before they hit the ground. He collected the resulting powder, thoroughly mixed the Five Elements, and temporarily stored it in the Yu Ding. Then, he led Deng Bagu and others to excavate a small mountain, constructing a hundred zhang tall Pill Furnace, and refined the ground meteor powder into Five-Colored Divine Sand.
He assigned the task of collecting Star Debris to Jin Xunu and the task of refining Dan to Deng Bagu, while he personally took on the task of grinding and refining the Five-Colored Divine Sand. Once he had accumulated a sufficient amount, he began to backfill the basin.
The basin contained complete architectural complexes, densely populated with a vast variety of flora and fauna.
These buildings originally belonged to the Heavenly Palace in the Spiritual Space Immortal Realm, known as the Five Bright Palace, comprising five main palaces—front, back, left, and right—each with four courtyards. With these twenty-five primary buildings as the core, there were more than three hundred smaller houses and courtyards. The scale was enormous, equipped for alchemy, treasure crafting, artifact refining, meditation, office work, hospitality, recreation, and more…
All that had existed there was no longer present; most likely, when the Outer Heaven Divine Mountain collapsed, the Heavenly Immortals of the Upper Realm had urgently removed everything. If anything was left behind, it had long since been scavenged by predecessors. Cold Centipede had acquired a Heavenly Treasure Mirror that could remotely monitor any target he wished.
Shi Feiyang reconfigured these palatial compounds according to their future purposes. The foundations beneath the palaces were made of jade, extremely hard. He used the Nanming Leaving Fire Sword to cut them into modules, which were then moved to higher ground for cleansing with pure spring water, followed by drying with Dan Fire, repeating the process nine times. Meanwhile, the refined Five-Colored Divine Sand was backfilled into the basin, layer by layer, each followed by further heating.
Shi Feiyang did not use his own strength but instead, with Yuan Hua, drew down the Aurora Fire using the Heaven and Earth Quiet Circle. Three circles hovered in the air, transforming into three rings several leagues in diameter that drew the Aurora Fire from their boundaries, dividing it into three streams directed towards the ground. This refined the Five-Colored Divine Sand, partially binding it to form a foundation, before another layer was added, continuously raising the height.
Though Shi Feiyang had few disciples, there were enough for the task. After four busy months, the entire basin was filled. He planned the landscape according to the local geomorphology and terrain, and realized his pre-determined plans on the expansive 3,000-league land, sculpting undulating mountains at will.
After shaping the terrain, the palaces and courtyards were moved back from high ground, strategically placed among the hills and fields. Although still segregated into five main areas, they were no longer laid out flatly but terraced at different elevations, forming a three-dimensional layout.
Besides the palaces, there were numerous plants, starting with ancient trees that had lived for ten thousand years, followed by various shrubs. Some blossomed like bowls full of colorful patterns, others were small like orchids, embellishing the tips of the leaves. Shi Feiyang relocated each type of tree and plant to suitable locations amidst the palatial buildings and wild hills.
Originally, there was a white jade archway here, a triple-arch structure thirty zhang long, made entirely of crystal jade, brilliantly radiant and dazzlingly bright. The words "Bright Realm" were inscribed on it in ancient seal script—an Invisibility Technique would fail beneath it.
Shi Feiyang moved it to the front of the mountains. His architectural complex faced southeast, positioned with its back to the northwest. Passing through the arch, across three progressively ascending mounds, led to the main palace to the south, located in the southeast within the Xun Palace, named Shenzhe Palace.
From there, traveling northwest through three progressively rising hills led to the Central Wuming Palace, continuing onwards to the even higher Heavenly Heart Palace. To the left was the Northeast's Tianren Palace, and to the right was the Southwest's Tianrui Palace. Thus, the Five Palaces clustered together, harmonizing with the heavenly patterns above and the earthly energies below, forming a unified whole.
When Shi Feiyang constructed the mountains, there were overall five mountain ranges shaped like dragons, with all five palaces situated upon these Dragon Veins. There were also nine rivers, representing nine Water Dragons.
Originally, when it was still a basin, there were nine peaks around with some palace constructions on them, all relatively small. Shi Feiyang moved these peaks to the northwest to act as a protective screen, modulating the earth's geomantic currents and leading several clear springs up to the peaks, from where water was channeled downward to form waterfalls that fed into the nine river channels.
This arrangement of five Earth Dragons and nine Water Dragons supported and encircled each other, embodying both structure and vitality, adhering to the powerful art of the Nine-Five, and laying the foundation for establishing the Dao!
For the civil engineering work, Shi Feiyang and his disciples were kept busy for over a year to complete everything. The subsequent transplanting of trees and planting of flowers, along with the planning of different areas, was labor-intensive and time-consuming. However, there was no rush; they could move in first and gradually furnish the place later.
Shi Feiyang chose to reside in the Heavenly Heart Palace of Qianling Mountain, the furthest back. Xiong Man and Deng Bagu lived in the Tianrui Palace of Kunyuan Mountain in the Southwest. Lin Han and Shi Sheng lived in the Tianren Palace of Genyuan Mountain in the Northeast. His male and female disciples would practice in these two palaces, while Yuan Hua and Jin Xunu practiced in the Eastern and Western compounds of the Central Wuming Palace, designated officially as direct disciples. The remaining disciples, including Water Clan, Red Snake, Xuan Turtle, and others, took turns at the Shenzhe Palace in front, all listed disciples.
Below the Shenzhe Palace's Qingming Peak flowed the Qingming River, turning eastward and rushing to the sea. At the river's mouth, Shi Feiyang had the Water Clan break stones and dig sand to carve out caves and also construct a Crystal Palace located on the ocean floor, spread with Five-Colored Divine Sand and planted with precious coral trees. The first courtyard was reserved for Water Clan's cultivation and dwelling, the second for office purposes, and the last, the Dragon Palace, was usually sealed and used occasionally by Shi Feiyang for an alternate residence. The Water Clan, aside from daily duties at the Shenzhe Palace, primarily resided here.
After the houses were assigned, Shi Feiyang distributed Magical Treasures to his followers.
