The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 144: 143 Qianxing Plain

Magical Treasures flew wildly in the sky, like startled birds in a forest, and everyone started to chase after them individually.

There were seventy-three treasures in total, each with different shapes, attributes, and purposes.

Deng Bagu and Jin Xunu, with the deepest Effort, especially Jin Xunu with his Fire Eyes, were most capable of identifying valuable treasures; he spotted a few good ones instantly, but he did not take any as he already had many treasures and, being a cultivated member of another race, felt embarrassed to take more. Instead, he told Lin Han, Falcon Crane, and the two little apes where to find the good items and even helped the Xuan Turtle seize a chain-like treasure.

However, he thought that not taking any would be disrespectful to his master, so he picked up a palace-lantern-shaped treasure.

Shi Feiyang, standing on the platform, watched from a distance as the treasure lights of various colors danced wildly in the sky, and the disciples either controlled their sword light or used their Escape Skills to chase after them, feeling quite gratified in his heart.

When each of them got a treasure and joyfully returned to the platform to thank their master for his kindness, Shi Feiyang asked them to present their treasures and taught them the methods of Sacrificial Refinement one by one.

The direct disciples took very few, only two or three pieces each, while others like the Green Flood Dragon and Falcon Crane grabbed more, about five or six pieces. Initially, they felt a bit guilty, afraid that Shi Feiyang would reprimand them for their greed, but seeing that he did not scold them and even patiently explained the refining methods for each Magical Treasure, they felt reassured.

After providing all the instructions, Shi Feiyang told them to go back and cultivate and refine their treasures, leaving Jin Xunu and Falcon Crane, who were on duty, to stay in the Five Bright Palace while he himself went back to the Tianxin Palace.

He had his own business to attend to, as the three-thousand-year calamity was soon approaching and would be even more perilous than the last one. He had calculated that if he could hide in the Outer Heaven Divine Mountain, protected by three layers of Forbidden Circles, including the Aurora Fire outside and the difficult-to-navigate Earth Axis inside, he could block many individuals. Those who had calculated in advance and found a small likelihood of successful revenge would voluntarily give up and not come, making it easier to get through.

But the closer the calculations got, the more variables appeared, the biggest variable being himself.

Previously, he had used the Scraping Immortal Pill to forcefully maintain his consciousness, succeeding in shedding his skin, but there is a reason one is meant to fall unconscious during such a transformation; the heart and kidneys meet, Yin Yang Jiao Tai, and one must be in a completely objective state of consciousness to proceed. Initially, the Demon Dragon relied on its instincts to fall unconscious, almost like it was dead, until after he deciphered the Heavenly Book and understood the method of the Dan, he realized that even if not unconscious, one needed to enter a meditative state:

To reach utmost emptiness, sustain deep serenity, the cognitive spirit cedes its place, the Primordial Spirit appears sacred, where the cognitive spirit is the subjective thinking of a person, including the reception of information from the outside through sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, including the thoughts conceived by the brain, all must be completely extinguished. With the heart dead but the spirit alive, vaguely yet clearly, therein lies an image; clearly yet vaguely, therein lies substance. Deeply obscured, therein lies essence. Shedding physical body, dismissing ingenuity, departing from form and forsaking knowledge... the final effect is the same!

Last time, both Mo Zhui and Queen Mother Grass noticed that his method could affect the development's efficacy, and even though it could later be compensated with various Immortal Medicines, it still fell short at the foundation. A single time might have been okay, but this final instance was the most crucial. After this shedding, he would completely cultivate a True Dragon Body, and his two inner cores would fuse into a Dragon Ball. If it were like the previous time, it wouldn't just affect the development of his dragon body but also the quality of the Dragon Ball.

Therefore, this time Shi Feiyang planned to be completely unconscious, striving to achieve the most perfect result after cultivating the True Dragon Body.

However, this meant that every night at the hour of the Rat, he would be completely unconscious for two hours, leaving him vulnerable to any Little Demons that might come and devour him!

To safely get through, he needed to make the most secure arrangements in advance.

He secluded himself numerous times, repeatedly calculating the future calamities to get a complete Gua Xiang, even knowing when and who would arrive, but he couldn't completely trust this.

For apart from fixed destinies there are variables; who knows if there wasn't a Daoist master secretly disrupting the Yin Yang, meddling with the numbers? Or perhaps a Buddhist master creating illusions with Buddha Light, reversing cause and effect, feigning the future? The future he now saw was very likely a false scene created by others, showing him a contrived future, and when the event actually occurred, it might not be as expected.

Therefore, while continuously striving to improve the accuracy of his Gua Xiang, he also made all-rounded preparations to ensure everything was thoroughly safeguarded.

First, he set up an arrangement of Array Prohibitions within three thousand miles around the luminous Five Temples, establishing a total of nine layers of Forbidden Nets, covering all paths in and out, linking the heavens to the earth, hooking mountains and rivers, completely sealing any loopholes.

Then, he arranged an ambush within a more than five hundred miles radius around his own Tianxin Palace.

Tianxin Palace was located on Qianling Mountain, which rose three thousand six hundred zhang high, with a plateau at the back called Qianxing Plain, covered with towering trees reaching thirty to forty zhang high, looking from below like a giant umbrella covering the sky. Amongst the trees, there were various flowers, bushes, and shrubs. Shi Feiyang had transplanted various medicinal herbs from his Heavenly Book Jade Box, including Mo Zhui, Mo Xiang, and Mo Ying.

When he first let the three little guys out, they were all stunned; they had never seen trees, flowers, or crystalline sand soil like this before.

Mo Zhui asked Shi Feiyang if it was safe here, if there were any dangers.

Shi Feiyang waved his hand and said, "This entire plateau, from Jiufeng Mountain in the north—see it, within those nine peaks—all the way south to Tianxin Lake, all these places were territories I conquered for you!"

The three little guys instantly went wild with joy, running and using flying escape skills between the trees, leaping and cheering. Many spirit trees from the Spiritual Space Immortal Realm were growing here, rich in spiritual energy. Mo Zhui jumped onto a tree over twenty zhang tall, its branches like weeping willows, sprawling and chaotic, covering more than ten acres. Each branch was seven to eight zhang long, hanging down like verdant ribbons of blue flowers. Clustered with multi-colored orchids, the branches swayed in the warm breeze, like thousands of colorful butterflies dancing.

Mo Zhui's small feet briskly navigated through the sea of flowers, sniffing here, smelling there, and finally burying his head into the flower buds to suck the nectar. After consuming four or five flowers, he was satisfied.

His body was dark and slick, but Shi Feiyang could still see that after ingesting the nectar, white True Qi flowed through his body's fibrous vessels.

Pleased, Mo Zhui came back, his eyes sparkling as he looked at Shi Feiyang, thinking to himself how increasingly powerful his guardian beast was becoming, for finding such a vast and auspicious piece of land, a hundred times better than Immortal Mountain, where he could feast on nectar endlessly!

Jin Moxiang, the Immortal Mushroom, did not like nectar; he preferred licking pollen. He chose a tree almost forty zhang high, its broad branches covered with large flowers as big as cartwheels, each about five or six feet in diameter, layered like a peony, red and green, white and blue.

Moxiang buried his face deep into the thick flower heart, savoring the sweet pollen, licking more than twenty flowers before resurfacing with multicolored pollen smeared all over his face. His body appeared pale green, jade-like, with clear and delicate features. Now covered in colorful pollen, he looked even more adorable and interesting.

Mo Ying, the Purple River Grass, was quite playful. He didn't like climbing trees; instead, he scurried through the undergrowth, trying to catch insects to eat but couldn't find any. The soil here was refined from the Furnace of Eight Trigrams by Shi Feiyang, and there were unlikely to be any insects. Even the trees, despised by Shi Feiyang for the filth of the Cold Centipede, had been purged with Hongmeng Purple Qi, leaving them clean and pristine. Currently, on Qianxing Plain and in Tianxin Lake to the south, there were only these three creatures, with the rest being plant life. Even the lake water was so purified by his casting that it was comparable to distilled water.

Shi Feiyang told them where there were prohibitions, ambush spots on Qianxing Plain, and taught them cultivation methods in the forest.

The Refining Great Technique in Chi You Three Disks Scripture required collecting the essence of the Sun and Moon. This Outer Heaven Divine Mountain had only the sun; the moon was not visible once in ten thousand years, so it couldn't visit this location.

Shi Feiyang tailored new cultivation methods according to their constitutions; they were plants that loved the sun. Whether or not there was a moon didn't really matter. Shi Feiyang removed the part about collecting moon essence from the original method and improved and expanded the part about collecting the essence of the sun.

He sat down under a big tree, the three little guys sitting or squatting around him in a fan shape, one explaining carefully, the three listening seriously among the blooming flowers, fluttering petals, and warm winds scented the earth.

He talked for a long time, and the trio memorized every word.

"You three, being cultivated from plant spirits, are not suitable for using metallic Flying Swords, as the metal energy might harm you. I'll give you these magical treasures instead." Shi Feiyang took out the Heaven and Earth Quiet Circle and the Heavenly Phenomenon Circle for Mo Zhui and the Earth Spirit Circle for Moxiang, the Material Spirit Circle for Mo Ying, "These treasures are incredibly powerful. If I simply tell you how to use them, you could control them, but it would be like a three-year-old wielding a Myriad Jin Iron Hammer—an accidental move could result in the destruction of your form and soul. I will teach you the principles, and you yourselves should strive to figure out how to use them within a few years."

The trio found it interesting and eagerly gathered closer after receiving the circles.

Shi Feiyang taught them about the Heavenly Dao, Earth Dao, and Human Dao, the roundness of the Heavenly Dao, and why it's round—cyclical, endlessly revolving.

The Circle of the Material Spirit had the greatest power and divine effects in the set of treasures taught through the Human Dao; but, Human follows Earth and Earth follows Heaven, with the energy source, operational laws, entry and exit rules, and pivot mechanisms still controlled in the hands of Heavenly Phenomenon Circle. Therefore, Mo Zhui, who held this circle, was crucial. The full force the set of treasures could unleash was limited by the Earth Spirit Circle, and determined by the Heavenly Phenomenon Circle, yet depended specifically on the Material Spirit Circle, with both the Heaven and Earth Circles merely assisting.

He talked for over three months before finishing explaining the principles to the trio. He then brought out three black pearls: "These are millennium-old mystical pearls from the East Sea. I've infused each with a drop of True Water, a water that lies between Innate and Acquired, perfect for nurturing your plant essence and refining your bodies."

Mo Zhui took the black pearl, inhaling the scent of Innate Water Vapour, feeling as if it refreshed his heart and soul. He pounced and hugged Shi Feiyang's leg, gently rubbing his head against it, blissfully thinking: My guardian beast is really the best!

Moxiang could only giggle foolishly, while Mo Ying jumped onto Shi Feiyang's knee, hugged his neck, and fiercely kissed his face with a "smack."
