"Miss Luna, why don't you spend the night at my house? I don't think staying alone is a good idea for now."
I told Luna as I watched her struggle to pull her brother with her to her house. Her baggage was not a physical one but an emotional one.
She might have been in an OK mental state when I checked on her before, but I still did not feel safe leaving her to do what she wanted.
Luna blinked at my words before she opened her mouth to speak and then closed it. She did this a few times before she sighed and nodded.
"Alright, I will take your offer."
She pushed the door open and I helped her take her brother upstairs and into a guest room. She was lucky that I had cleaned up some rooms recently, so she did not have to do anything.
"The blankets are in the closet and if you need anything, feel free to tell me or grab it yourself…or rather, just knock on my door and call me first."
I suddenly recalled that it was not a good idea to give Luna free reign of the house. But it was because of her own safety.
Even I did not know the secrets that hid in this house, and a single wrong step could harm Luna.
Somehow, I was not afraid for myself. Something in me told me that no matter what I discovered in this shop, it would not harm me. But an outsider was a different matter altogether.
"I understand. I will call you if I need anything."
Luna told me and I sighed before I headed back to my room. I checked Nyx and Erebus's room, only to get a heart attack when I saw that they were not in the room.
But then I noticed that they were under their covers and I sighed in relief and decided to leave them alone.
I headed back to my room and threw my body on the bed. Sleep claimed me as soon as I closed my eyes and I knew no more.
My sleep was not the best, but it was not the worst either. I felt a little well-rested when I opened my eyes the next morning… 1 minute before the alarm rang loudly.
"Fuck-! I GET IT. I am awake now…."
I rubbed my eyes as I closed the alarm before I pushed my body to stand up. It was a standard procedure from there and my body moved on auto-pilot.
There was a lot to cook today and I was feeling lazy. So in a truly 2-century fashion, I decided that cooking was too much hassle and I was just going to order out and buy some food.
The system window had so many options, but I decided to buy standard ramen for today and a lot at that.
Nyx and Erebus came down not too long after when they smelled food and Fenrir also followed them. As they ate, I decided to go and visit Luna and Leo.
I knocked at the door for their privacy and Luna opened the door. She looked exhausted and her eyes were a little red.
Leo was sitting on the bed behind her and he grabbed his head. He looked to be in pain, but when he looked at me, I could tell that he had regained some of his sanity.
"Hey shopkeeper, you are back? That's… good. My head is killing me and I don't recall a lot that happened. But I think I caused trouble…? I am not so sure at the moment. Anyway, thank you for helping me and my sister out."
Leo was able to form full sentences now, which was good. But I still did not want him to get up from his seat. So I pushed him back down.
"Don't get up. I will bring you some food to eat here. Also, has Luna filled you in on what we discussed about? If not, then I can go through it with you as well."
I told Leo and he blinked at me before he nodded.
"Yeah. Luna has told me some things… including that we need to head back to the Groove for now. I cannot say that I am happy about it. But if there is no other way around it, then…"
Leo sighed as he looked at me. At least he looked determined to not cause me trouble.
I felt glad that he was cooperating with me over this topic.
"Just rest for now. We can discuss how we can help you get to the Groove once you have eaten something."
I told Leo and he nodded before he went back to sleep.
When I left the room, Luna followed me.
"I will bring food back to Leo. You should not have to disturb your daily routine for me and my brother's sake."
Luna told me and I quickly reassured her that this was not too much trouble.
"Don't worry. It's fine and I do not mind helping you out. I am not doing much anyway."
I assured her, but Luna still looked sorry and uncomfortable. She was not going to say anymore, so I left her alone and went to the kitchen.
I handed a fresh pot of ramen that she could take to her brother and some bread as well.
"If your brother cannot handle the noodles, then give him some bread and milk to ease his stomach."
I told Luna and she nodded before she left.
The kids looked at me with interest, wanting to know what happened. But I was more interested in what they did while I was gone.
"So, what did you do while I was gone? Keeping silent won't work either. Now, you better speak up."
Luna told them and the kids sighed before Fenrir tattled on them.
"We went out to play in the back garden. What…? We did. I am sure master won't have a problem with it… oh no-! Is it bath time now?"
