"A teleporter."
She said, and Everlearn's brows constricted.
"A... a teleporter?"
"Yes." She replied as he watched her quickly typing on her laptop, new information appearing on her screen.
"Just three months ago, there was a breakthrough in Teleport tech. The creation of an already Tellocalized Teleporter."
"All it has to do is be laid on the ground and, in the span of a minute, it will become fully operational."
"Look. It's even on the websites of the TCFs." She said, and Everlearn did see the info.
"If you drop down into the Tale Nakros Prison and you quickly lay down about a dozen of these teleporters… all you have to do is get the humans out of their prison cells and have them stand on the teleporter."
"In an instant, they'll be out of Tale City."
"That gets rid of the Nakros bombarding the plane and destroying it, trapping everyone there."
"As for the single person that drops in, he or she can also simply use the teleporter and be out of there, and the connection can be severed instantly to prevent the Nakros from following after them."
She said, and Everlearn's eyes flared with thoughts.
In an instant, hundreds of ways in which things could go both right and wrong appeared in his head, and he mused:
"Even if the Nakros somehow catch up, at least there will be a great number of people freed. And if a soul be lost, it would be only a single Corer."
He mused, nodding slowly.
All of his hypotheses pointed to one thing.
"This could indeed work."
"It will. But we'll need a lot of things that we don't have." She said.
"First is the Telocalized Teleporter. It's unfortunately not out for civilian use yet, only military."
"Not for sale and not legal."
"There's no way we're getting our hands on that unless we ask for it from the TCFs, which I don't think has any reason to allow us such a level of gadgets."
"Second, a single person cannot be sent down to that prison. Even if Tale City has the lowest amount of Nakros, there are still 22 of them down there."
"A single soldier won't get rid of that, meaning we would still need an army to fight through the Nakros encirlement and reach the TaleNakros Prison where the humans are trapped."
"Though the armies can quickly leave back in the air with their helijets, and the Nakros won't catch them, we still need an army of at least a dozen powerful Corers that can take down a couple of dozen Nakros swiftly."
Everlearn completed.
"Yes. And… we also don't have that."
"And even if we do, the armies or whoever has to go there have to fly in the air. They need jets, and not just any jets."
"I mean, there are footages of Nakros snatching down planes and jets from the sky."
"We'll need an incredibly high-grade military-level jet with sonic-level speed and tank-level defense. Better yet, a Helijet."
"We… also don't have that."
She completed, and Everlearn's gaze dropped.
'It ends up harder than I thought.' He mused, trying to think of a way out.
Sara had no clue at all what they could do in that moment, and she simply fell silent, watching Everlearn, whose eyes remained closed for a while before they snapped open in an instant.
"The governments are trying to take back already invaded cities, right?" He asked, and she nodded.
"What military exactly has done the highest city retrieval ever since the invasion started?"
"The new invasions?" She asked, turning back to her laptop.
"Yes. The new one." Everlearn said, and she worked quietly for a while before bringing out a chart.
"There have been a total of 27 cities overtaken ever since the war started, and a total of 8 have been taken back. The ones who have done the most takebacks are the TCFs, totaling five of the invasions."
"The other group is the CHO with two takebacks, and one unrecognized Corer-gathering group that managed to take back one city." She said.
"What's the full meaning of the TCF again?" He asked.
"Top Corer Families."
"Even though there's the 'government', they are actually the ones in the seat of power when it comes to Nvidia."
"I think the government itself is just a more enjoyable name to fool the public and blind them from the sour fact that a group of families is the one controlling every major activity on Nvidia."
She said, and it dawned on Everlearn.
The Top Corer Families.
This wasn't the first time he had heard of them. He had heard of them in History Classes back in X Guard Academy.
They were people whose bloodlines traced back to incredibly powerful Corers of the distant past who had survived and pushed back the Nakros during the last invasion.
They were not just powerful. They governed everything, a recognized military force that commanded the vast majority of the strongest Corers on Nvidia.
"They have everything we lack." He said, and Sara paused.
"The new teleporters are under the TCF's power."
"They hold the vast majority of powerful Corers on Endearth, so they also have the armies we need."
"And the helijets we need for transportation into Tale City, they also have them."
"Everything needed to rescue all trapped humans from Tale City… the TCF already has them."
He mused, and Sara's eyes lit up as she turned back to typing quickly.
But then she froze, glancing over her shoulder at Everlearn.
"But… if they already have everything needed, then… why are those in Tale City still trapped!?"
She asked a question that had already occurred to Everlearn seconds ago, but hearing it still made his heart sink.
At that moment, a sentence echoed in his head.
_____
"The war, Everlearn, is a lot complicated."
_____
It was from the last time he had told Boss Ash he wanted to get a mission out of the academy.
She had turned him down, saying this was the wrong time to be out and that the war was more complicated than he thought.
But now, he was starting to get what she meant by things being complicated.
Two questions were unresolved in him:
Firstly, why were the Nakros keeping humans in prison instead of killing them outright as the humans did to them?
And second, if the most powerful military organization in the world already had enough resources to rescue a dire city, then… why have they not acted yet?
