Mecha Devourer System

Chapter 192: New Quest Issued!

"Wait. Maybe they don't have the idea yet?"

Sara asked as Everlearn paused his thoughts.

"The only reason why we're able to narrow down Tale city like that is due to our explicit focus on it and making it our first mission."

"There are still 17 more cities under Nakros Invasion."

"Maybe the TCFs are focused on getting back other Nakros-infested cities and don't yet have time for Tale city?"

"That'll make more sense if they're trying to force things through, taking back each city before reaching Tale."

She suggested, and it was indeed a reasonable hypothesis.

Besides, Everlearn also had a hypothesis on why, and that was:

Tale City is a Grade E city.

There are more important cities that have been taken over and require more attention than some backwater Grade E city.

And naturally, the TCFs focuses their attention on the most important invaded cities, automatically ignoring the less important ones like Tale City.

That absolutely was of solid reason.

"If our first mission is to be successful within a month's duration, then we need outside aid."

"We can't do this alone," Sara said.

"If the TCF has everything we need, then what we need to do is have them on the line." Everlearn said, continuing, "We discuss the idea to take back Tale City and see how they react to that."

"Even if they're focused on the more important cities."

"The plan is solid, and if it's a success, which I'm sure it'll be, and hopefully they see."

"Then, that'll also be one more city off the radar for them." He said, and Sara nodded.

"I'll try reaching their online helpdesk..."

She said, quickly resuming typing, but just a few seconds later, she paused.

"What?"

"Our message won't get through quickly enough." She said, pointing at the screen.

"Right now, the TCFs Helpdesk has 4,450 unread messages from other organizations."

"If we send them a message now on their helpdesk, then we'll be number 4,451, and according to the official info, they only respond to about 1000 messages on their helpdesk in one month."

"Meaning it will take 4 months for them to see our message at all. We'll never make it." Sara said, and Everlearn's brows creased.

"Is this how their helpdesk normally is?" He asked.

"No. Their helpdesk normally contains about 100 messages before, and all are resolved within weeks."

"But all of a sudden, they've been receiving more and more messages, and my spy tool shows that was a trend that started three months ago, which is also the exact time that the war began."

"So messages must have come flooding in after the war."

Everlearn mused.

When the world becomes engulfed in chaos, it's only natural that people would flee toward the one presence they believe can steady it.

And which better presence than the strongest military force on Nvidia?

"Then we can't rely on the helpdesk."

"We need to reach out personally to someone who has enough authority."

"Someone who can issue the command of an army with a helijet and the allowance of the teleporters to be used for the mission aid."

He said, and Sara slowly shook her head.

"I... I can't reach that."

"A number like that will belong to an ultra-important person in the TCF who probably only takes 5 calls in one day."

"There's no way that important information can be found anywhere, unless I have access to their Military Servers."

"Something impossible since I don't work in the TCF."

"And even if I do, what are the chances of him taking me seriously?"

"Right now, with this amount of unread messages. It must probably be from other people who have plans like ours and are trying to get the TCF on them."

"What will make our plan worth listening to at all?"

"If everything that could bring success to Tale City's rescue is based on things they own, then going to them like that will make us do the exact same things thousands of other people are doing: Begging for help!"

"They'll never take us seriously."

In that moment, the notification flashed before Ryuk.

[Challenge recognized!]

[New Mission Issued: Get The Attention of the TCF!]

[Time Frame: 1 Week!]

[Rewards: ??]

[Punishment: Charisma Stats Is Now Locked. You will from now on be unable to add points in Charisma, and if you fail to get the attention of the TCF in the time frame (A Week!), then your Charisma stats will be stuck at 300 stats FOREVER!]

'Is that really a punishment though?' Everlearn mused.

'I mean, the Charisma already looks like a dumb stat to me, so what pain does it cause me if I lose it?' He thought with an eyeroll.

'Though I have to say, I don't want any of my stats getting stuck, and now feel a little bit challenged.'

Everlearn mused, a glint of conviction glinting through his blue irises.

"A week," Ryuk said, and Sara turned to him.

"We'll have a week to get in contact with the TCF and get their complete attention."

"This will be our first Mini-Mission." She said.

"And how do we do that?" She asked, and he replied.

"What's your experience with hacking?"

"You're thinking of infiltrating the TCF Military Base servers and getting the information of high-ranking personnels?"

She asked, and it was indeed Everlearn's thought.

When he wanted Mecha Eva's information.

He had simply accessed Mechara's internal servers through Lontan and taken what he needed.

If they wanted the contact details of a high-ranking officer in the TCF, then all it would take was access to their military servers and a quick search through the roster for someone with sufficient authority.

That was the shortest route.

"I can't hack my way to the required password and username." She said, continuing, "That has to be gotten directly from a TCF Personnel, which, I'm pretty sure, public disclosure to a non-TCF personnel should be...illegal!"

"And to be honest, even if I got the code, I'm not sure I want to cross paths with the strongest military force on Nvidia."

She spoke, swallowing, with droplets of sweat trailing down her temples.

But all Everlearn replied was:

"Do the TCF have any base close by?" He asked, and she quickly typed.

"No, the TCF doesn't have any base in Cornando. Their closest base to Cornando is in Huwait." She said, and Everlearn asked.

"How far is that by plane?"

She quickly brought up an interface and replied within 10 seconds.

"A 12-hour flight."

"Then, it's done."

He said, his seat swerving to the back and spinning around.

"Huh? What are you planning?"

silence

"Waait. Don't tell me you're planning to..."

"Yes."
