The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 201: No Longer Puppets

"Is there anything you would like from me, Master?" She asked.

"I do have something I would like," I muttered before grabbing her arm and then sinking my fanged teeth into her skin.

I may not be of vampire descent, but I still have the vampiric trait to my evolution, so I can suck the nutrients out of some beings and increase their likingness towards me.

I'll use this girl to gather more information when I need it, so for now, I'll just keep telling her to stay until she fully respects me or falls in love with me.

(Lucy POV)

"It's been a day, and both of them still haven't woken up," Mia said as she grazed her hand along Astra's cheek.

"Well, they're not dead, so that's a good start. But, for now, we should clear this dungeon. We don't want anything inside of here spewing out," I said as I glanced over at the familiar yet unfamiliar portal.

I felt a connection towards it, and Frostbite kept shaking each time I got within five feet of the massive portal.

"I guess… But we don't know the rank of this yet. Shouldn't we get a scanner?" Ethel asked, and the rest of the group nodded in agreement.

"Oh, I have one in my spatial box," Celestine said, and everybody's ears perked up like dogs hearing their owner opening the door.

"Really?" Amanda asked, eyes sparkling as she was out saving grace.

Going back now would just be a pain, so she just saved us about a day or two… which we could wait out, but none of us was that patient when it came to dungeons.

"Alright… let's see," Celestine muttered as she walked up to the portal with a metal reader in the shape of a gun.

It had a tiny screen on the handle, which had a meter that went from green to red, green being the easiest like E-rank dungeons and such, while red being S-rank, but it could be a higher tier of S-rank as well.

These guns have a limit, and that is to the normal S-rank, so if it is ever SS or SSS rank, then we'll never know unless we get a professional or a very expensive item.

And, of course, that would take a while to acquire or find.

"Hmmmmm… This is troublesome," Celestine announced to the group, and without even showing the gun, judging from her emotions flowing through us, it was definitely an S-rank.

"Should we sell it?" Aria suggested.

"Nah, that would be a complete waste. We already have enough money so let's just see if there are any good items in there. I've been dying for an upgrade," Nuala said while creating a snowman beside us.

It didn't look too bad, but without the carrot and beady eyes, it looked a bit bland, and it was easy to tell that something was off.

"But, we can't just leave these two unconscious girls here," I said after glancing at Astra, whose skin had turned a bit red.

"Do you think we could store them in our inventory?" Charna suggested, but it was a question I had already answered myself.

"Nope… And since we can't put living beings in the Porter girls' spatial boxes, then we'll just have somebody look over them… I want the four strongest girls to come with me," I said, and everybody gave me a snake eye.

"You're gonna create chaos if you ever say that again," Clio said as she gathered sand into her hand and created a small sickle with beautiful engravings in it.

Everybody here was pretty prideful, and pretty much everybody thought they were the best, so this suggestion increased the tension in the air.

Nobody disagreed with me already going inside since I felt a connection, and they felt that connection through the hivemind, so that was settled… but then there is the problem of who is coming with me.

I'm sure I could clear a normal S-rank dungeon with enough time and planning, but it isn't confirmed that this is just a normal S-rank dungeon.

It could potentially be an SS-rank or, worse, an SSS-rank dungeon which I'm sure will be impossible to beat.

"Alright, let's settle this now, then," Mia said with a sadistic smile, and everybody matched her smile except for me.

Oh no… This is going to get crazy.

"So you four are coming?" I asked the four girls in front of me who didn't even have so much as a blemish on their hair.

Well, obviously, they wouldn't be injured because they settled the argument cleanly with a very funny and amusing tournament of rock-paper-scissors.

So we have Charna, Mia, Ethel, and Aria… a pretty good team, but if I could, I'd replace Aria with Amanda and Ethel with Clio, but that's unfortunate.

"Alright, let's g-"

"Oh no, you aren't," A familiar voice suddenly called out to me, and every single one of us froze with our eyes growing colder by the second.

"Auntie, what are you doing here?" Ethel asked as we all creepily turned our heads towards her synchronously.

"I came here to stop you, girls, from entering that dungeon. It is under the protection of the Primordial Braves," Mom said, and I grit my teeth in annoyance.

"Geez, can you stop acting like you own us? I'm sure you've already noticed we aren't human anymore, meaning we're your mortal enemy, so if you wanted to fight, just say that" Charna said as she rubbed the back of her head, but despite her innocent appearance, her eyes were like that of snakes.

"I just don't want you girls entering there because I care the most for your safety. I'm practically your parent as I was the only one to take you in after the New York incident," Mom replied.

"*sigh*... Mom, your manipulation tactics are becoming much more apparent now that you're panicking. I'm assuming this dungeon is very important… but how important is what I was wondering," I said, and Mom looked at me as if I had just murdered a hundred babies.

"My babies don't say that. I just want you all to come back with me, and we'll have a little chat. I'll be sure to explain everything there,"

It was expected, but a few of the girls were actually beginning to fall for her sweet and seductive tone, but I wasn't having any of it.

I've mulled over it for a while, and I feel like everything had been planned… that first run in where she helped me against the massive dude and tons of other times, saving me constantly.

My mental state wasn't the best, so I was easily taken advantage of, but now that I've grown away from Mom's sheltered tactics, it's hard to see her in a new light.

A small bubble of anger began to boil in my heart, and it resonated with the other girls, overwhelming the slight sadness that began to float in some of the other girls.

"Just leave… please. I don't want to see your face," Nuala said.

"Nuala, just be a good little girl and come to Auntie. I swear we'll have more of those cupcakes that you like,"

But, no matter how hard you try to forget things, the engravings in your heart aren't easy to get rid of.

"Y-You're lying. You just want to capture us," Nuala replied, and Auntie slowly began to step forward towards her.

"My good little girl, I'll be sure to cuddle with you until you fall asleep. Don't you want to fall asleep in my warm embrace again," Tiana said, and we could feel Nuala's fear radiate through us, and her uneasiness upset our stomachs.

"N-No, get away from me… Get away from me!" Nuala shouted as Tiana began to get closer and closer to her.

'Stop her,' I said through the hivemind, and in an instant, Electra, Celestine, Amanda, and Aria appeared around her, weapons out.

Even Celestine, who doesn't wield a weapon, used a magic sword she bought a while ago, and it was now coated in blazing flames.

Electra gripped a water arrow in her hand and began to stab it towards Tiana's throat.

Amanda wielded a large greatsword seemingly made from the sun, and Aria held a light and dark sword which had formed a pair of scissors that were about to chop her head in half.

Ting

But, all the weapons suddenly shattered as an frame of thin, long, and winding pipes appeared in the air, also restraining the girls in the process… but,

"What a genius our little Lucy is,"

"I know, right,"

"I agree,"

Charna, Mia, Ethel, Clio, and I, Lucy Amana, appeared under her, and our weapons sent her flying back into the large wall.

BAM

Her weight had cracked the wall, and pieces of it began to tumble down towards her.

I expected to slice her legs off, but it seemed she had a reactive piece of armor that formed over any threatened pieces of her body.

"Old hag, get the fuck out," I said.
