"Indeed… so what do you think? Can you do it?" I asked, and the maid nodded confidently.
"Of course. Please allow this maid to access her full power, though,"
I was a bit confused by her request, but before I could come up with some hypothesis, a panel appeared in front of me.
[Would you like to grant full power to your Maid?]
[Drawbacks are heavy for the Host and the Maid]
"There are also drawbacks for me…." I muttered, but my maid quickly reassured me… though I was still a bit skeptical.
"Don't worry. I'll absorb most of the drawback, but of course, with this mortal vessel, I might not be able to survive if I absorb all of it,"
"Aren't you… an undead or something? Can you really die?" I asked.
"No, I cannot die, but if my mortal vessel gets destroyed, my soul will return to my owners. And… I will be severely punished and will not be able to return to your side for another few millennials,"
"Your… owners?" I muttered, but the maid quickly redirected the conversation.
"N-Nevermind that. I'll be here with you, so just allow me to access my full power, and I will complete your desired request,"
"Ummmm… sure," I agreed but took note of these "owners" of hers.
[Full Power has been granted to your maid]
All of a sudden, my maid exploded with a deathly aura, and the sclera of her eyes turned a deep black, sending shivers down my spine.
And speaking of spines, her spine tore through her back and plastered along the middle of her back while a pair of her ribs punctured through her skin and curled around both sides of her chin.
Her white hair turned a deep black, and each time she moved her hand, it felt like the world around her accommodated her passing.
It was as if the atmosphere or air around us didn't have any effect on her, and it went around her, fearful of even coming in contact with her.
"Mistress, please take a step back," My maid of death said, but I didn't even have to move my body as a strange black aura picked me up like a child and placed me behind my other two maids.
They were sweating bullets and clearly were also very fearful of such power radiating from the maid in front of us.
"Is she the strongest out of all you three?" I asked as my maid of death raised her hand into the air and muttered something in a foreign language.
Even with my skill, I couldn't make it out, meaning it had to be outside the system or something akin to that.
"By far. We are incredibly strong compared to mortals, but compared to immortals and divine beings, we are very low on the totem pole… and this woman right here must be personally serving a god or goddess. That is the only explanation I can think of,"
"I see… how interesting," I muttered as my maid of death finished chanting her incantation, causing what looked to be the souls of these poor dark elves to be pulled out of their bodies and chained with an ethereal blue collar around their necks.
These collars were then connected to a chain which my maid of death held very, very tightly. Almost as if she loosened just a bit, the souls would escape.
"How kinky," I snickered, and my maids pushed me back a bit further without giving me a warning.
"Now, speak. I, the boatsman of the soul alley, order you three to speak. Answer the questions of my ethereal being, and you shall be set free," My maid of death said, a ghostly demonic figure with hundreds of eyes piercing fear through everybody around her.
My maids in front of me were shielding me from most of the demonic power, but to be honest, I was still on the verge of passing out.
My knees had already given out, and as I sat on the floor, unable to move… the souls still managed to resist the orders of my maid of death.
With just a slight sigh of disappointment from my maid created the densest atmosphere I had ever experienced.
I was choking from how dense it was, and just trying to squeeze a molecule of oxygen into my lungs was nearly impossible.
Suddenly, the three souls were lit up in blue flames that caused them to erupt with ghastly and horrific screeches of pain.
Then, they stopped.
My maid asked the questions once again, and this time they spilled everything they knew, including things I didn't even need to know.
But, eventually, the pressure from my maid of death was too much, and I ended up fainting, the sight of my maid having some fun with these souls the last thing in my mind.
…
Slowly, as I opened my eyes, I was greeted by a warm smile from my maid of death, who returned to normal, but her deathly presence from before still lingered in my mind.
"Forgive me, Mistress. You can punish me as hard as you please…. It is completely my fault for forgetting to consider your mortal body,"
"Heh… Not only did you make me pass out, but you're also insulating me now. What an amazing maid I have,"
"I-I-I-I was j-j-just trying to- Forgive me! I-I shouldn't have said such things!" She exclaimed, becoming the exact opposite of what she was just a few… minutes ago or hours. I had no clue how much time had passed.
"I'm just joking with you," I snickered, and my maid wiped the sweat from her forehead and wearily laughed.
"A-Anyway, you're quite lucky. The punishment happened while you were passed out, so you didn't feel anything,"
"Hohhhh…. Do you think I can't handle it? Are you trying to call me weak?"
"N-No! I-I would never-... I-I beg of you… please stop teasing me,"
"Well, then you should stop saying such easily manipulatable things," I chuckled before slowly getting up from my maid's soft thighs and seeing Cora already back from her expedition.
Seems I was knocked out for quite a while.
