The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 312: Tolf Leader: Clio (Final)

Various other adventurers were gathered to be scolded and had their licenses restricted for just a bit at the help of a man who was sent by the adventurer guild.

Soon, they had finished up their work, and Auntie turned toward me with a large smile, clearly hoping to talk with me more.

"Did you have fun?" She asked, her happiness practically beaming off of her.

"Yes… that was the most fun I've ever had in my life! Plus, guess what?! I was able to reach level one hundred in an instant! I can now evolve! Isn't that crazy!?" I exclaimed, and Auntie scooped me up by the armpits and carried me through the air.

"You're quite the impressive girl!"

During my remaining stay, I found myself interacting with Auntie Clio more as she came to observe my training much more.

Apparently, she didn't want me to evolve yet because she wanted me to become just a bit more proficient with everything else in order to widen the options that I could select.

And to be honest, I didn't even know that was a factor in evolution.

I just thought whatever you got was whatever you were stuck with, but according to Auntie Clio, the system can react and adapt to its surroundings.

This is displayed through the seemingly endless evolution of the system and my own monstrous body.

So, on the final day that I was staying, just before taking off the next morning, Auntie Clio's husband came up to me.

"Mmm… I wanted to see Auntie," I complained as Uncle took me through the palace before reaching a room so goddamn big you'd think they were storing a dragon in there.

"Higher-tier evolutions are quite the dangerous process. Not only for you but also for the people around you," Uncle explained while walking into the center of the room, where he gestured for me to sit down.

I quickly followed his directions and prepared myself by opening up the panel, which continued to bug me for the past few days.

[Evolution is available]

[Would you like to see your options?]

"You know, your aunt was quite the feisty one when she evolved. The pressure radiating off of her still gives me chills to this day… same thing with my sister-in-law. They're truly monstrous beings," Uncle chuckled.

"Umm… I don't think I ever got your name," I said just as Uncle began to back away into the doorway.

"Oh, you can just call me Uncle… but if you're so insistent, you can just call me Rox. Rox Dragonscale," He smiled.

Soon, all the preparations were ready, and I found myself looking at my options within this empty room, clearly beaten and battered by the previous users of this place.

The wide variety of options surprised me as I stared at about fifteen to twenty options, with some clearly being filler and some being decent.

None of them really caught my attention, but I guess this was expected for m "first" evolution… there was no way I would have something amazing despite my parent's genetics.

My current race already breaks all standards, so if I had yet another race that completely blew past the competition, just like how my first race did, then… I don't know… I might get hunted down by the gods.

"Alright… this is the one… If I follow this evolution, it should lead me straight to my previous level of power," I smiled before locking in the evolution and closing my eyes.

I had no clue how much time had passed but seeing as how I was starving, and it felt as if my stomach was trying to eat itself, I knew I had been out for quite a while.

Two days at most.

"Congratulations… you look good… but that special magic that your mother used to cover up your horns… is completely gone," Uncle cheered me on as he entered the room, scouring the floor, which had light burn marks.

He almost seemed to scoff just a bit as his vision widened to the even bigger scorch marks not only spreading from the center of the room but also tickling the very tops of the walls and just barely scraping the ceiling.

Clearly, I was still nothing compared to my aunts.

"I'm guessing the options weren't very good," The man muttered as he helped me up from my dilapidated state, carrying me out of the room where a few maids took me.

It took a while for me to reply since I was just barely catching my breath and attempting not to kill myself by eating my own damn stomach.

I was so hungry that eating an entire dragon wouldn't satisfy my hunger… I needed more. Way more than what Auntie normally gave me.

I began to drool as my new evolution only fueled this sacred hunger as if the flames I wielded were breaking down anything within my stomach.

To be honest, it was quite painful.

But, just as my hunger nearly made me pounce out of the maid's arms, Uncle grabbed me by the back of my collar, yanking me away.

"Fresh drakes are always like this," He chuckled lightly before giving me this piece of flavorful wood that I continued to chew on until the food had all been prepared.

And once it was ready, I dug in like a rabid beast.

Even the maids surrounding the table couldn't help but take a step back in fear, thinking that they may be devoured along with my rampage.

But once this mind-shreddingly painful hunger had disappeared, I found myself lying in the arms of my aunt, who was surprisingly in robes.

She was always in quite revealing clothing, but it seemed she had just got back from an icy place as if she had gone to visit one of my parents.

"You stink," She laughed out loud, but I was exhausted to even say anything back, which she immediately noticed. "Alright, honey, let's get you bathed, and then we'll send you off. According to Miss stick-up-her-ass Lucy, you are running behind schedule,"

As Auntie carried me, I made sure to check my new status which didn't surprise me in the slightest.
