The floor had multitude of cracks and towering crystal shards jutting out through them. Grey was dancing around the Golem, evading the heavy crystallized punches.
He had broken numerous diamonds cores attached to the golem's limbs. But every time, a new one would come flying to replace the shattered one.
Constantly evading the diamond shard attacks and the towering crystals on the floor all around, was taking a toll on Grey. Fatigue from frustration and the rush was building up.
He knew he needed to find a weakness, and quickly.
Grey dodged a sweeping strike from the golem's emerald-studded fist. The impact point on the stone floor exploded into a shower of diamond dust and shards.
He retaliated with a desperate leap, punching the golem's crystalline knee. In a hurry, the force behind the blow lessened, chipping only a sapphire facet, sending a painful shockwave up Grey's arm.
The golem staggered back slightly, its diamond eyes fixing on Grey. It brought its immense, crystallized forearm up, crystals growing out again for the shards attack.
But almost instantly, the shards stopped growing out, and the attack ceased.
Grey was taken aback at first, he was confused at the situation. But then, he realized he was directly in the line of fire, and behind him was something, that the golem refused to harm.
He turned around to confirm, when then, he saw the pyramid shaped raised platform at the center, with a bronze coffin behind him.
The golem's arm dropped. The twin diamond eyes widened, not in malice, but in a primitive, programmed fear.
The golem was towering, deadly, and entirely capable of crushing Grey, but its attacks were being constrained by the fear of causing collateral damage to the coffin.
A cold, stark realization cut through Grey. The golem wasn't the main threat; it was a distraction, a tool.
"It protects the coffin…" Grey murmured, his gaze locking onto the coffin. "The core is the coffin itself!"
Grey dashed towards the platform. The golem immediately became far more aggressive, its movements shifting from offensive to pure, intense defense of the pyramid.
Aura rushed to his feet as he dashed forward. But the Golem leaped, it landed right in the path between Grey and the platform, shaking the floor with its landing.
"Now that I know your weakness, I won't play with you anymore." Grey clenched his fists tight. The golem was not the priority right now, he had to reach the coffin.
"Gigantification!"
The dark red aura engulfed his entire right arm. His sleeve was instantly shredded into worthless ribbons. His skin stretched, veins bulged out, the bone within shifting with a sickening, audible crunch.
His right forearm and fist ballooned, swelling to a grotesque yet powerful size. It stopped growing only when the forearm alone was easily twice the size of his body.
Every muscle fiber was corded and bulging, like tightly wound cable woven under the surface. Thick, black-blue veins snaked across the skin, pressurizing with the immense flow of aura-infused blood, pulsing visibly like living serpents.
With a primal roar that tore through his larynx, channeling his strength, will and the skill's raw power, he drove the colossal fist forward in a blinding, explosive movement.
The air in front of the punch was compressed into a physical wall, momentarily extinguishing the flambeaux fire.
BOOM! CRACK!
The gigantic fist slammed into the golem's chest, shattering the three cores immediately. The impact was absolute.
The force of the blow ripped the mountain of crystal straight off its feet. Shards exploded outwards like shrapnel, dazzling and lethal, as the golem turned into a massive, tumbling projectile.
With a mighty crash that shook the entire chamber, the colossal monster was blasted backwards, slamming violently into the far wall, burying itself under a fresh, spectacular avalanche of rubble and dust.
Grey stood panting, his right arm shrinking rapidly, the power receding and leaving his flesh scarred and burning, but restored to its original size with a trail of steam rising.
"It takes...quite the aura to…use…how the fuck is this…A rank?" Grey was panting holding his knees.
The energy expenditure was quite high for the gigantification skill, reducing is aura reserves to almost nothing.
He was sure of one thing now, he couldn't use this skill carelessly, but for now, the immediate threat was gone.
But he didn't have much time to celebrate, the golem could be getting up any time, he had to break the true core now.
The path was clear. Grey sprinted across the remaining section of the floor and vaulted onto the platform. He reached the vertically upright coffin. It was black, smooth and sealed.
He yanked the coffin's heavy lid. It scraped free with a ghastly, yet tearing sound.
Inside, standing upright, was a perfectly preserved mummified body. It was clad in decaying silks and looked like a dried husk, yet its chest was hollowed out, and a single, flawless, crimson ruby stone pulsed rhythmically in the cavity, like a synthetic, ancient heart, feeding the magic of the tomb.
The moment the air hit the mummy, its eyes, previously just dark sockets, flicked open, revealing a terrifying, deep-red glow.
It let out a primal, high-pitched screech, a sound of pure malice that vibrated the air and momentarily stunned Grey.
But he had come too far. He looked at the screaming, desiccated face, raised his left arm, and coated his fist with his red aura.
"Shut up you fucker!" With a final, shattering blow, Grey brought his aura-clad fist down upon the crimson ruby.
The stone exploded into thousands of smoking, inert fragments.
The ruby's light died. The mummy slumped instantly into stillness. On the other hand, the jewels on the chest and limbs of the golem buried within the rubble went dark, becoming inert stones.

A wide and content smile spread on his face. He was growing strong, and at quite a good pace. If he could continue growing at this pace, changing the event of his death may not be a far-fetched dream.
Just then, his eyes fell on the Golem lying motionless under the rubble. The wall had cracked from the golem's fall and stones had fallen off, revealing light coming inside from the linings of the crack.
"Is this a hidden room?"
