The eclipse chronicles: I have two SSS+ rank skills from the start

Chapter 44: The search ends

Grey jumped down the platform and moved towards the golem. He squinted his eyes, inspecting the cracks; there really was light coming from the other side.

When he placed his ears near the crack, the sound of water splashing graced his ears.

His lips lifted into a smirk. There was definitely a hidden room behind, and not once had they disappointed him.

"Gattling destruction."

Loud booms reverberated in the chamber as cloud of dust rose from the rocks crumbling down from the broken wall.

After the dust settled, the scene came clear. This was the very center of the pyramid, with the pointed ceiling showing above.

There was a small hole right at the top as water was flowing in and falling below like a waterfall, creating the splashing sound that he had heard.

What surprised him though was that the chamber was unnaturally bright. But that doubt of his was cleared soon when he stepped inside.

There was a bright glowing diamond shaped stone floating at the center of the chamber. Light was passing through the hole and falling on the stone, reflecting rainbows in the surrounding.

Grey's heart thumped when his eyes fell on the stone. He had a feeling this was the very thing he had been torturing himself in the cracked lands for.

Without waiting a second, he activated his eyes of omniscience.

[ Dawn stone (Heaven)

The diamond that has been bathed with the first light of the morning sun, filling it with the energy of the sun, capable of awakening the bloodline]

"Hahaha! Finally!" With a push from his aura, Grey leaped towards the stone, grasping it within his palm, he landed gracefully back on the floor.

But right then, the whole structure, from the floors to the walls started shaking. Cracks started spreading all over the pyramid.

Grey immediately turned his head towards the golem lying under the rubble, the shining gems, the ruby, emerald, diamonds and the gold, he was about to take it all, but now that seemed impossible.

"Why? Fucking why!?" Grey wailed in frustration, his eyes watery. His arm raised towards the gold and gems, but except grasping the air, he could do nothing.

The shaking intensified, dust and broken pieces of the pyramid started falling down and water from above gushed inside with full force. There was no time left.

With a painful farewell, he turned away from the treasure. His face contorted into fury. Aura condensed on his fists as he roared, punching towards the wall in front.

"GATTLING DESTRUCTION!! WAAHHHHH!!!"

The pyramid that had been standing from an ancient time on the lake floor, now crumbled down into dust, vanishing into mere rubble as the surrounding water turned murky.

Just when it seemed like everything had been buried within that crumbling structure, the murky water parted as a figure flew out.

Kicking the water back with his aura covered legs, Grey was swimming up fast. the pill was still in effect as he effortlessly moved up.

Water splashed at the lake surface as Grey came out drenched. He immediately fell on the ground with his back, gasping for breath.

The crescent sun was up in the sky. The warm rays of sun kissed his face. Though he had just survived somehow, instead of fear, a wide smile was plastered on his face, looking at the system screen floating in front of him.

"Hahahaha! It's fucking done."

The air in the black market alley was thick with the stench of cheap incense, stale ale, and desperation. The only light came from the lanterns hanging outside ramshackle stalls.

Inside one of the shops, cramped with dubious ancient artifacts, the owner, a squat, greasy man named Fenn, was embroiled in a vicious quarrel with a gaudy customer.

"Two hundred gold for the eye of the desert hag? Are you mad? It's worth five hundred, at least!" Fenn spat, his jowls shaking.

"It's a pebble with paint! Two fifty, final offer, or I sell my next haul to Gary's!" the customer sneered, slamming his fist on a rickety counter.

Just then, the small, tarnished bell above the door gave a weak tinkle.

A figure entered the shop.

He was cloaked in heavy, dust-stained black fabric, the hood pulled so low that only a silver of darkness visible beneath.

Fenn's eyes, fixed on the hooded figure, went wide with terror. His face went pale.

"Accepted! Two fifty! Take it and get out!" Fenn barked at the bewildered customer, shoving the artifact into his hand and practically pushing him towards the door.

"Now, out! We're closing!"

The customer, too stunned by this sudden shift of mood, stumbled out of the shop.

As the door swung shut, the hooded figure remained motionless near the entrance. Fenn didn't even wait for the customer's footsteps to fade. He snapped his fingers. A wave of low, violet energy pulsed from his hand.

With a synchronized thud, all the exterior shutters, the back door, and even a barred window upstairs slammed down and locked, the entire shop sealing itself off from the black market in a magical instant.

Fenn turned, his posture now rigid, his voice low and formal, drained of its usual greed.

"Show me the mark." He commanded, his eyes still darting nervously at the cloaked figure.

The hooded man didn't speak. Slowly, a pale, slender hand emerged from the cloak's folds and lifted the left sleeve, revealing a patch of skin just above the wrist.

There, etched in stark, black ink, was the mark; a horrifying, intricate tattoo of a tentacular beast. Its fleshy, writhing appendages were wrapped tightly around two celestial bodies, a crescent moon and a full sun, bound together in a single, unholy knot.

Fenn's tension broke. He let out a long, shuddering exhale and offered a single, curt nod of confirmation. The fear left his eyes, replaced by an unsettling, ritualistic acceptance.

"He shall talk with you now." Fenn whispered.
