Matthew managed to jump out of the way of the explosion as well as Yuki's allies. The fire engulfed the room setting several furniture around them on fire.

Matthew barely had time to get up. The Cambions who were used to the fires of hell, just walked through the explosion rushing in Matthew's direction. The female Cambion was the first to reach him and try to stab him with her trident.

Matthew deflected the trust with his sword and tried to shoot her with the gun on his other hand, but as soon as he lifted the gun to shoot, another Cambion using a big sword caught to him forcing Matthew to use his gun to avoid the blade.

The third Cambion, who was wielding a pair of axes almost got Matthew from the side, but Faralynn came out form her hiding spot and shot the Cambion with her bow making it miss his strike.

When Matthew positioned himself to strike back at the Cambions, the other men opened fire at him forcing him to take cover behind a column. He was hit by some shots, but other than a little pain, they caused him no harm due to his powerful Vital Shield.

Faralynn took one of the men down with her bow while the Cambions chased after Matthew. Losing one of them to Faralynn, made the remaining 3 men shift their focus onto the Elf. One of them was using a rifle and the other two only had guns, but their firepower was enough to harm Faralynn forcing her to also take cover behind a column.

At this point, Yuki had moved without both of them realizing and got in position to throw another fireball at Matthew who was now encircled by the 3 Cambions.

Matthew was hit directly on the chest making him fly backwards at hit a wall. The Cambions around him were also thrown backwards, but were unharmed by the flames, only the shock wave made them a little dizzy.

Matthew got up healing himself and shooting at Yuki who was quickly shielded by the Cambion with the sword who erected a mana wall in front of them making the bullets bounce harmlessly to the floor covered in blue flames.

Faralynn charged the men shooting at her using mana shields to protect herself from the bullets. She now had her sword on her hand. Faralynn dashed right to left confusing their aim and, in an instant was over one of them piercing the man's chest with a precise strike.

Using the man's body as a shield, the Elf was quick to find cover again and wait for another opportunity to dash forward.

"The white haired chick is too strong for us!" The man with the rifle cried out asking for help.

Meanwhile, Matthew was trading blows with the female Cambion and the one holding two axes.

Yuki gestured for the Cambion shielding her to move and face Faralynn while she readied another fire spell to throw at Matthew.

That Cambion flapped its wings and flew towards Faralynn, while Matthew kicked the Female Cambion on the belly throwing her away from himself. Facing the Cambion with the axes by itself, Matthew was relentless on his attacks.

Using his superior speed and strength, he quickly overwhelmed his opponent disarming it from one of the axes and using his gun at point blank to plant 5 shots on the Cambion's chest. It fell dead on the floor with blue flames surging from the bullet wounds.

That was the moment that Yuki shot another fireball at him. Matthew dodged the initial blast, but was again thrown backwards due to the explosion.

The Cambion with the sword arrived at the place Faralynn's was taking cover with a downwards slash that she dodged masterfully. However, now she was exposed to the bullets of both of the men with guns.

The elf raised a mana wall to protect herself from the bullets, but maintaining the wall and fighting the Cambion at the same time was draining for her. The Cambion was stronger than her and having to maintain the wall at the same time put her at an extreme disadvantage.

It is at this moment that Faynn struck.

Yuki coughed when the miasma around her irritated her lungs enough to hurt. Her eyes were fixed on Matthew who was getting up and facing the Female Cambion. Her hand engulfed in another fireball that she was just waiting the perfect opportunity to throw.

This led the Howling Spear's Vice Leader to lose focus on her surroundings. That gave Faynn the perfect opportunity to come out of the shadows and stab Yuki on the back twice.

Even though Yuki was a high level, her build was mostly from the Mage tree class. This meant her HP and her Vitality were low. Faynn pierce her Vital Shield easily and her body could not sustain those injuries due to her low HP.

Yuki died on the spot.

Faynn didn't waste time. She quickly used two shadow spikes to kill the men with the guns. She then conjured shadow tentacles from underneath the Cambion facing Faralynn holding him in place.

Faralynn was the one that killed that Cambion. She cut its throat and watched him bleed to death held in place by shadow tendrils.

Facing the Female Cambion alone now, Matthew was fast into defeating her. Since he was at level 35 and empowered by the Unholy Mana, Matthew was much more powerful than that demon who ranked about level 25.

After trading a few strikes, he dodged a stab from her trident and kicked her leg making her fall on one knee on the ground. Before she could react, he shot her in the back of the head.

"Well done." Faynn said as Matthew used Purification to get rid of the miasma he spread through the room.

"We won." Faralynn said sitting down and taking a mana potion.

"We shouldn't relax yet." Matthew warned her. "There will be more of them going up soon."

"At least 30 of them are holding downstairs. Seems like they're waiting for reinforcements." Faynn said using her senses to find out the enemy position. "But they're all very weak. There's only one Cambion among them and it seems only imps and dretches are coming to reinforce them."

"There were some Balors in the front line." Matthew said remembering what he saw from the helicopter. "Aren't they coming?"

"I don't know." She said walking towards the window and taking a look outside seeing scores of lesser demons approaching. "They aren't very organized. I don't know, but I'm not sensing or seeing any of the greater demons."

"Not even upstairs?" Faralynn asked.

"There's only one strong presence upstairs and its human. But he doesn't seem to be any stronger than me or Matthew." Faynn said. "I would say he's level 30 at maximum. Even the fire girl was stronger than him."

"Then the warlock is not in the building?" Matthew asked.

"Either that or there is no Warlock." Faynn said.

"What do we do now?" Faralynn asked. "Do we keep defending this position or go up to meet with the others?"

"I can hold them here." Faynn said. "But I don't leave Lynn's side." She added.

"I'm worried about Vanessa." Matthew said looking up. His Sense Others skill wasn't as powerful as Faynn's and he could not sense anyone upstairs anymore.

"I'll stay here with Faynn." Faralynn said. "You can go up and help them."

Matthew looked into Faralynn's eyes and gave her a small kiss.

"You two run away if it gets too dangerous." He said.

"You too." Faralynn said back at him.

Matthew then looked at Faynn and nodded getting a nod back.

He ran to the stairwell and climbed the stairs with hurry.

Matthew found the team at the penthouse. Douglas, Doug the Marauder, a blonde man with blue eyes and a well toned body that made him look like an underwear model was on his knees crying like a baby.

Vanessa was standing still with her back on the wall and crossed arms looking at him with so much hatred in her eyes that Mara stood between her and the man.

Vasconcelos was putting the Howling Spear leader in handcuffs while Job tried to interrogate him between his crying hiccups.

"Where's the person who opened the gate?" Job asked.

"I don't know!" Doug cried loudly like a child.

Matthew noticed he was wearing boxers and had the video game turned on. It was as if he was caught unprepared for the assault even though the fire alarm was still ringing and the whole building knew they were there.

"He seems genuine." Matthew said approaching Vanessa.

"That bloody mamma's child." Vanessa spat on the floor in disgust. "Can't believe he's just a big baby. And even though he caused so much harm." She ground her teeth in anger.

"What do we do now? Did we fail?" Matthew asked.

"He must know something." Mara said. "We can't leave here empty handed. A lot of our men are dying out there to give us this opportunity."

"There is no Balor in the building and neither it seems any is coming to help." Matthew informed them. "I doubt the Warlock wouldn't employ even one of them as security." He added getting close to Doug.

"What you're doing?" Job asked when Matthew put his hand on the man's shoulder.

"I'm using Purification on him to detect demonic mana." Matthew explained. "It would be impossible to be this close to the demons and have none. Yet… He doesn't."

"What does that mean?" Vasconcelos asked.

"It means he's just a bloody baby who has no idea what is going on outside this room." Vanessa said walking towards him. "Do you have how many people died because of your incompetence?"

"But if the Warlock isn't here. Where he is?" Mara asked when the while building started to shake.
