Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 176: Province meeting (3)

Lia and Grey silently watched the infernals making themselves comfortable in the newly developed land in the secret realm.

Then, Grey turned to Lia and spoke. "Now that it's done, do you want to go back and chat?"

Lia met his gaze and immediately nodded. She couldn't wait to tell him everything she saw when she awakened and also ask him about being the so-called creator of Little Hong. She was also curious about what happened with Orin.

Then, she heard Grey speak again. "Actually, on second thought, why don't we just make ourselves comfortable in the secret realm and chat?"

Grey thought about it more carefully, and if he went back into the mansion, Eterna would be eavesdropping on their conversation.

And what Lia would reveal to him were some things that Eterna did not need to know for now.

Although he trusted the AI, it was still under the current federation master's control, and who knew if that man could eavesdrop on him without Grey knowing?

He had learned from the past and was now always cautious about things. That was also the reason why he did not reveal anything to the immortal lady.

Of course, it was also due to the fact that revealing things to her might not even prove useful since, as she was now, she was very weak and could not even do much aside from taking one or two attacks from a late stage second ranker and stopping time.

He wanted to play it safe, and the last thing he wanted was people stabbing him from the back.

The people he could actually trust could be counted on one hand, such as his sister, Valeria, Werner the twin, the grand disciple of his, and finally Lia.

She was someone who could keep a secret, and he also realised that she had grown from a little lady of Nova City to someone strong and wise.

She may as well be his ally in the future.

Besides, he was sure that she knew he was the one behind the Aether evolutionary path.

After all, when he was battling that Zeryth guy from the abyss, he utilised all three aspects of his powers, and Lia saw it in a picture clear way.

Yet she still kept a tight lip even after these two whole months of separation, hence he trusted her.

Likewise, Grey also knew that she trusted him very much as well.

It was plain obvious, and even the matters of the infernals were discussed with him before she took action.

Seeing her respect and trust towards him, he would naturally treat her the same way.

"Why is that?" Lia tilted her head in confusion.

"Eterna." Grey replied with a smile. "She loves eavesdropping on things, and that is especially the case for me since me and her closely interact with each other on a daily basis."

"You both interact with each other on a daily basis?" Lia was surprised. She remembered the time when Eterna suddenly began to speak like a human with the immortal lady.

"Did you know about Eterna being sentient?" She couldn't help but ask.

"That is correct." Grey replied. "I was rather surprised when I found out too. The governing AI speaking and acting like a human was quite comical."

He had naturally noticed the small talks the immortal lady and Eterna had while he was clashing with Orin.

His mind perception's range was quite literally huge enough to cover the entire province at the peak of the 2nd rank, and that was just him suppressing it.

That was not even the full potential of it.

"Is there anything in this world that you don't know about..." Lia couldn't help but ask with her face twitching.

From Eterna to the abyssal beings to her being a god and even identifying her Endless Potential Body, it was almost like nothing could be hidden from him.

Grey always had the answers to her questions, and honestly speaking, she had never seen him unable to answer anything.

It was almost like relevant information appeared in his head whenever you asked him something.

"Just what are you...?" Lia couldn't help but ask. "You clearly aren't human."

"A being that can even keep my divine energy under check." She added as she analysed his expression.

She wanted to get to the bottom of this. She wanted to know Grey better.

"Well, I'm technically confused as to what I am right now." Grey smiled.

Although he was a Saint, it did not mean he became part of a different race.

It was more of a state of existence rather than a race, and it simply could not be defined as such.

At least that was what the information that appeared in his head from the Seal of Sainthood mentioned, although Grey thought differently.

Right now, he was half a step into becoming a full fledged Sage, but even now there was the power of sainthood permeating his body and most importantly his eyes.

It was only a matter of time before his body completely transformed into that of a Saint Body, not just an eye.

Hence, he believed sainthood was similar to a transformation technique which allowed one to either change races, like how bloodline warriors became half beasts, or even transcend their current limited low level mortal human race into something higher like the High Human and such.

"Does it have something to do with the s... sainthood?" Lia paused as she spoke, trying to remember the words of the immortal lady, Xia Qingyue.

"Indeed." Grey nodded.

He knew that the immortal lady probably made it public when she sensed the power of sainthood descending down.

So he was not surprised by Lia knowing about it.

"It's related to that, yes. Due to that, I'm still confused about my own race, but I was once human, that is for sure." Grey explained.

Lia nodded at this, and since he himself was confused about it, there was no point in asking further.

"Come, let's make ourselves comfortable. I know a good place." Grey smiled and held his hand out.

Seeing this, Lia paused slightly, already knowing why he did that. She hesitated slightly before firmly holding onto Grey's hand for the third time today and teleported out.
